Lizzie is perfectly able to cope with another child. And unless they bring up her (intermittently) poorly heart it should all be fine. (They won't do another Vicky story.)

And really she wouldn't even have to bring the festival into it at all; she could just act all mysterious about some random unseen beau in Borchester...

Realistic plot though. Isn't this exactly what happens in rl? Two people working closely together - Roy and Lizzie seem to spend more time together than Roy and Hayley - go for an away day and end up getting off with each other. It's exactly why office affairs are so prevalent. it goes double for Lizzie in my opinion since Roy has literally stepped into Nigel's shoes work-wise. I also can't help thinking that Roy has been influenced by Tom's rebellion. Fall out will be terrible though. Great plot.

I think at 47 she could get pregnant - as we all know it only takes one spermie and one egg (or two in Elizabeth's case!) - it would be like the Bobbsy Twins, no? . I'm not sure that will happen here - after all the Brain/Siobhan affair led to a baby.

I wonder if Hayley will be one of these women who guesses a guilty conscience as soon as the happy campers get back. In a sense I hope so as it would drag on and on otherwise. And we seem to have had enough of those 'draggy' themes of late. Poor Hayley - there was JohntheCad, now she has RoytheCad.

Yes, MrB was a MLer. He has sworn me to secrecy regarding his name (something about others thinking he's female when he isn't - is on Peet's Place under same name nowadays). I find life is too short for any but MN these days. I also find some of DH's posts a bit 'weird' so don't wish to be linked to him (he doesn't know this ....).

Somebody upthread said Lizzie always gets what she wants and this is prime example. I don't think any more will happen tbh but you're right stillearnin the damage is most definitely done. I think , as previously suggested, too that Hayley will smell a guilty conscience a mile off.
