Bore - I think Lizard is Freebies 1st cousin twice removed, but its been a long week and tonight has unhinged me.

Here we go again with some much hinted at Eastenders type drama - can we have the old Archers back? Maybe I'm boring and staid but over the last couple of months I've really gone off the Archers, having gone from listening pretty regularly, to making a point of listening if I can, am now at the stage where I leave the radio off!

Oh god, can't remember! There were a few of them over the years.

DOn't think it was in TB, cos I didn't really go in there. The poster complained about us commenting on things like the Brief Encounter ep in a negative way and when she was told we could say what we wanted she went OTT and said she was contacting the BBC asking for her own personal place where she could talk to "like minded folk2 without us ruffians coming along and spoiling things. So a spoof thread was started, where we all praised TA, saying things like "I love Vanessa, she never talks down to listeners" - that sort of thing. Even Tayler joined in the fun. And the original poster got irate at that and said we were just being silly. errr - yes!

Yes, apparently too many wrong kind of listeners on the boards upset the fluffy bunny huggers.

How will it work out?

Well the Ed seems to have stated an intention to make the fest a "thing".

Roy will deffo do the decent thing and find a job elsewhere.

Elizabeth will employ a crack team to bring in the £££££.

Lily and Freddie will grow up as the Emily (and Emil) Eavis de nos jours.

Little Grace Archer will reap a festive inheritance.

And ALSO -arts trail? Get a grip Lizzy (no, actually, don't. It's worrying enough without thinking of what you have in your grip right now).

But Arts Trail - this requires a call for comissions, most likely an external sponsor (for example Secret Garden Party has Saatchi's sponsoring their artworks) and at the very least a decent period of time for the artists to actually create the damn things!

I absolutely loved the old ML boards. I was a very longtime lurker and only posted a few times but it entertained and educated me in equal measure. It's nice to know there are some old Mlers here.

I missed tonight...bloody child fetching duties again. I'm off to listen with a bucket .

Well, they did say when Nigel 'jumped' that the story would run and run. This would never have happened if Nigel were alive. I think - though I've been wrong before - BoringRoy will be the one who's swept off his adulterous feet by the older woman (did they not teach him at college/business school that you NEVER shag your boss ....). After all Lizzie is a selfish bitch at heart and has never done anything she didn't want to do. Poor Hayley. Lizzie ahs so much less to lose than the others involved in this. I'm so glad I was in my bedroom alone when I heard this epi. And I hope there won't be any more need for the brain bleach in coming weeks/months as we are fat running out here.

Glad you clarified that Basketz ...was having a slightly confused moment as the thought of your fat running out and just how bad TA was to make that happen!

BTW, I imagine there is no longer a way to search for particular posters on ML? I will read the whole thread later but want to read MrBasketz's contribution - He went on about it at the time, I recall ....

I think it's creepy in a chilling way that a man would say, "you don't have to do anything you don't want to do". Isn't that a given? I'd just say 'yes I bloody know that!'.

thinking about this is making me feel really quite nauseated, but a propos of the pregnancy discussion earlier...

i don't know whether roy has had the snip, or lizzie had her tubes tied etc, nor do i know whether she would be on contraceptives for reasons other than because she doesn't want to get pregnant (control of heavy periods etc) - i'm making the assumption here that she hasn't been having sex with anyone recently anyway
