Is that what Pat was getting at tonight when she was quizzing Susan about how old Kylie's half-brother was? Or am I way off beam?

yes-I've been thinking this since the first references to John and Sharon carrying on. There's no way he could be Kylie's father though is there?

I have been wondering this. Also because of Emmer going on about inheriting 'bad blood' and so it would be a fabulous twist if Kylie had wholesome Archers blood coursing through her veins. And yy to Helen's wrath. She is going to be furious

I was going by this: www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/the-archers/timeline which says she was born in Oct 1989. Which actually would mean her brother was John's rather than Kylie ...

And if Tony and Pat suspected he might be the boys father why would they have waited so long?

I was listening to the archers back then, but can't remember much about it other than she lived in a caravan. Why would Pat have suspicions and not have said anything before now?

I don't think Pat did have suspicions though - she only found out about the existence of a half-brother when Kylie mentioned it at Ivy's funeral. Still not sure why she would immediately leap to the conclusion that John was the father though. My memory of what went on then is very hazy - I do remember John visiting Sharon in her caravan though. Grin

Yes John and Sharon did have a fling before he died. Bearing in mind that there's loads of stuff that happens off mike and they 'forget' to mention then yes it's very possible he got Sharon up the duff. He died in the February so if she had got pg at the end of 97 she would only have just been learning the fact when he died and could very well have kept quiet thinking there was no point trying to convince the grieving parents that it was John's baby.

true that we never heard that John shagged Sharon at the right time - supposedly it was all misunderstandings...

it could be that Sharon had shagged another & then tried to get back with John

There is another theory that the half-brother won't be John's but that Sharon will pretend he is in order to try to get some dosh out of Pat and Tony (though she'll be lucky at the moment with their business going down the toilet). Pat would really want to believe he was John's child - a little bit of John left behind.

John is Helen and Tom's brother. Therefore any child of his would be alongside Helen's son Henry as an heir to the Bridge Farm millions. After the whole E Coli thing though they would stand to inherit about 50p. That won't stop her bitching though. Pat won't be letting this lie, she will be desperate to know if Rich is John's son.

After complex relationship difficulties, Helen went barmy broody became aware of her maternal instincts and became an obsessive PFB mum insisting on doing everything on her own (including the donor insemination) and has been the only parent of the only child in the next generation, until now.

The idea seems to be that she would no longer be only parent etc.

Plus John's sprog might get a share of the farm inheritance...
