Is that what Pat was getting at tonight when she was quizzing Susan about how old Kylie's half-brother was? Or am I way off beam?

Sorry, the emphasis should have been 'rude boy wannabe', not 'wannabe teenager' :o

NorkyPies · 29/11/2011 16:17

Will be a reason for them to visit Leeds soon (where the possible grandson lives) - get a bit of urban reality in?

Ponders · 29/11/2011 16:20

Yes I liked that too, Laura Grin

Ponders · 29/11/2011 16:22

OO, do you have any inside inf on when Cloive will be wreaking havoc again? Wink

(I'm sure he will be - he never goes quietly)

Ponders · 29/11/2011 16:23

oh sorry, it wasn't you, it was Norks - we need to get her over here...

Bramshott · 29/11/2011 16:25

You are getting old ppeat, he is a fine figure of a young man and I won't hear a word said against him

Ponders · 29/11/2011 19:33

\link{http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2067689/Whos-girl-Brit-actress-Felicity-Jones-new-face-D-G.html& here's the original Emma} - she's come up in the world Smile

GrimmaTheNome · 29/11/2011 19:37

And, predictably enough Helen is upset by the news.

So, is she going to break down into anorexia again, or Pat descend into depression? Got to be one or the other, surely - or both.

Ponders · 29/11/2011 19:42

both, probably. interesting though that Helen seemed to be more upset about revisiting John's death than Henry dropping down the line of succession

poor old Sharon came in for some flak too (although it was all true enough I suppose)

I thought Pat handled the whole thing incredibly badly (nothing new there Hmm)

ChristinedePizanne · 29/11/2011 19:44

It was pretty dim to think that either Tom or Helen would be thrilled at the news. And even more stupid to tell them when there is nothing more than a photo to go on

kohl · 29/11/2011 19:48

I really can't face this storyline - hysterical helen, manic pat, bet brenda will stick her oar in. Blah. Blah. Blah. Where's a lovely lilian story when you need it?

NorkyPies · 30/11/2011 18:47

So that's why Helen was so upset!

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/11/2011 18:52

I don't get Tony's insistence on Helen and Tom being even involved at this stage when it may turn out not to be true.

Pat & Tony give the horrid pair way too much power in my opinion.

So sad though reminds me of when John died and I 'get' why Pat is hoping he is John's son.

But you know I loathe Tom and Helen and have not forgotten how horrid she was too poor Hayley when John died.

ppeatfruit · 02/12/2011 16:39

Tom's not as bad as Helen though; I can't wait for little Henry to lithp 'Where'th my daddy?".

It's the way Pat esp. completely forgets how selfish she is. Though Pat is showing a streak of that obsessive insensitivity in her handling of the 'Rich'. affair IMO.

ObviouslyLovesTinsel · 02/12/2011 16:49

Helen is Pat's daughter alright!

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2011 14:43

Yes tinsel it's true about Helen .BTW I love tinsel much to my minimalist DD's disgust who HATES it Xmas Smile

IMO Sharon has found her fortune maybe lied to the man about the paternity of Rich to hang on to him and would not at all welcome a call from needy Pat, anyone else agree??

R4 · 08/12/2011 11:54

I had to go out last night - right in the middle of Pat's Big Scene. Gah!
Wasn't it fabulous. Reminded me of Tony's anguish when he found John.
I love the way that the SW have been cooking this plotline for 13/14 years.

Pat is an absolute cow, though. So self-interested and obsessed that she can't see that she is trampling all over everyone else's feelings; thinking that all she has to say to Sharon is "that was then, things are different now" and Shazza will fall over herself to play happy families.Hmm I rofld when Pat said that she didn't what to put a bombshell under change Rich's life and Shaz said, very flatly, "No? Then why are you calling?" Go Shazza!

Talking of OCD cows, is anyone else having problems with The Tenant of Wildfell Hall? I keep thinking that the Helen in that is Helen Archer (she sounds like her but it's a different actress) and am being very unsympathetic towards the uptight Ice Queen her.

choccyp1g · 08/12/2011 14:19

Just heard last night's Archers, and logged in specially to say "GO SHARON" She really socked it to Pat, didn't she?

They were horrid to Sharon when John died, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.

When this storyline started up, I found myself lying awake at one night, thinking of all the characters who can be affected by this. My theory is that Peggy will come up trumps one way or another.

ppeatfruit · 09/12/2011 08:41

Yes choccy Sharon did not pull her punches did she? And what are Tom and Helen going to say when they find out that Pat went totally against their wishes (I haven't heard last night's yet so don't tell me ) Xmas Grin.

R4 I always get annoyed at ' Tenant' iMO our modern sensibilities are SOO different aren't they? we forget; have no notion about how straitlaced you had to be to be part of society then.

GrimmaTheNome · 09/12/2011 09:52

Poor old Pat squeaking 'but I didn't know, if only you'd said '... yeah well, learn to treat people decently cos its the right thing to do not because it may turn out there's something in it for you.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/12/2011 11:15

I don't think I can cope with another Hellin meltdown- they are all utterly selfish.

lljkk · 09/12/2011 17:16

I remember Sharon as a sexual predator who did everything she could to undermine John + Hayley's relationship, was very devious in general, AND obviously took great pleasure in her "hold" over John.

Am not keen on Pat, maybe she was horrible back then & deserved a roasting, but no kudos to Sharon. She sounded venomous to me.

Hellin is selfish, too. You'd think being a mother herself she'd "get" why Pat can't let go.

GrimmaTheNome · 09/12/2011 17:54

You'd think being a mother herself she'd "get" why Pat can't let go.

yes - I can't imagine anyone in Pat's position not needing to at least know if the boy was John's.

Do you think she's going to stalk him now?
