Is that what Pat was getting at tonight when she was quizzing Susan about how old Kylie's half-brother was? Or am I way off beam?

Pat was asking Kathy how she could find out which school Rich goes to-she was going to wait outside the school gates for him - nutter !

ChristinedePizanne · 15/12/2011 17:41

Pat is definitely going to go and stalk Rich unless Sharon lets her see him. I hope Sharon and Eamonn slap a restraining order on her

lljkk · 15/12/2011 20:01

Why can't she wait? She's waited 13 years, why not wait another 5 until he's 18? Why the urgency?

bea · 15/12/2011 21:20

she's just bonkers as conkers!!! yes the wobbley voice... argggh!!!!!

heronsfly · 17/12/2011 15:30

I dont think Pat will be able to control herself at this meeting, but I do feel just a tiny bit sorry for Tony.Grin

blackeyedsanta · 17/12/2011 23:39

pat is definately not going to be able to control herself. it is all going to go pear shaped pretty rapidly.

ChristinedePizaTinsel · 18/12/2011 10:26

Listening to the omnibus is horrible - Pat's rewriting of history in which John has no mind of his own and Sharon is some evil temptress :(

And yet Rich is 'John's son', not Sharon's. This is all going to end vv badly.

kohl · 18/12/2011 11:12

Why WHY does anyone think that meeting up, pretending they're not who they are, and seeing the gc for 2 minutes for once and once only will help anyone?? It's a TERRIBLE IDEA. (As I keep shouting at the radio).
What a disaster. And some shocking writing.

FrankH · 18/12/2011 12:56

Certainly a terrible idea - but that doesn't mean it's necessarily "shocking writing".

People often do irrational things - especially when moved by strong emotions such as grief.

I'll wait to see how things turn out before deciding how poor the writers are. At the moment I think they've created a situation which has great possibilities of exploring the depths of quite a few aspects of human psychology - love, grief, hatred, resentment, forgiveness, reconciliation etc.etc.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/12/2011 13:51

yep, I don't think it's bad writing- I betting Pat will be unable not to say something

ChristinedePizaTinsel · 18/12/2011 15:47

I was wondering if, given the timing, there would be some miraculous Christmas rapprochement (perhaps Rich will recognise them?) but then remembered the not-at-all jolly Xmas rape and the New Year's fall from the roof and decided that the SWs don't have much of a track record of cheery seasonal storylines :(

GrimmaTheNome · 18/12/2011 16:30

Yes...all those potential outcomes and its bound to go pear shaped on past form.

carocaro · 18/12/2011 16:39

And is there really a golden eagle or was in owl at Leeds Christmas market, in real life I mean where they are due to meet on Sunday at 2.30pm? There is no way Pat is going to make chit chat about the weather and mince pies and be remotely normal.

Rich is going to say to Sharon as they walk away 'Old friends Mum, no wonder, that woman is deranged'

I also think Pat will retrain as a Scout leader so she can tun Rich's pack.

Tr la la la laa la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

carocaro · 18/12/2011 16:41

And also in not at all shocking writing as per previous post of experience with this matter, I secretly went to look at/spy on my brothers biological Dad once cold Autumn day.......

OliviaMumsnet · 18/12/2011 16:46

I am catching up now too.
I was worreid about Henry when Pat was going on about checking on him...
Also LOL at Pat being "Unreasonable" (any of the writing crew MNers I wonder?Xmas Wink)

GrimmaTheNome · 18/12/2011 16:49

I don't have time right now to do it myself but I'd like to see how an AIBU impersonating Pat panned out (I suppose that would be norty though)

lljkk · 18/12/2011 19:16

I was toying with that too, Grimma!! Wink

GrimmaTheNome · 18/12/2011 19:53

Oohh - a cricketer and he's really called John ... and Pat bevhaved herself ... this is too good to last...

lljkk · 18/12/2011 19:57

Why would Sharon tell Pat his real name, I would have shrugged off the urge to correct Pat if I were a spiteful old slapper like her.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 18/12/2011 19:58

Surely now she is going to go really crazed. She will probably kidnap him and lock him in the dairy forcing him to re-enact plowing competitions while feeding him ice cream from left over bridge farm tubs.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/12/2011 19:59

yes, very restrained..

blackeyedsanta · 18/12/2011 23:02

pat knows his full name now. will she be off looking for him on the internet?

carocaro · 20/12/2011 14:15

HITU - hilarious!

"just a litte stocking filler for Rich" err like a car, tractor, the whole of Ambridge Organics in our will, something little like that?

I also think they are building up to a henry christmas bauble swallowing incident. A - because they keep mentioning them B - Tony got over excited about baubles at leeds xmas market and men never get excited about christmas ornaments (not even they gay ones!) and C - the distraction of John/Rich will play on Pat's mind on xmas day and she will miss henry eating a glass robin off the tree......que panic and drama and Borchester General here we come!

GrimmaTheNome · 20/12/2011 15:15

You think Helen would allow Henry within grasp of a glass bauble? Though if he's just on the cusp of walking I suppose she might underestimate his abilities...

Sinkingfeeling · 21/12/2011 13:21

As long as the glass is organic, he'll be fine, surely?
