Who is going to fall off the roof!

Nigel

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:35

And Helen lives.... There is officially no god.

Abr1de · 02/01/2011 19:37

Any possibility that a fall from a very high stately home roof wouldn't be fatal...??? [Hopefully]

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:39

Fingers crossed boring old Sausage Tom had made it back from the hospital with the good news and was underneath to break his fall... splat.

evenkeel · 02/01/2011 19:40

Xmas Grin at Chil1234

Too right!

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 19:41

I don't rate David's chances of survival very highly once Lizzie finds out.

Jdore · 02/01/2011 19:42

Well Jackson survived being hit by a train in Emmerdale soooo maybe Nigel could survive, shame it wasn't LizzieGrin

Or even Brenda (as a fall-breaker). She is a bit boring.

And, yes, David's life will not be worth living. And it will be shown to have been in some way Kenton's fault, too, as he helped put the banner up originally.

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:43

David will go into terminal decline and no-one will notice. Lizzie will hit the bottle, have a sympathy shag with the vicar and send the squeaky midgets off to boarding school after all. Helen will blame her Dad for causing the accident.... Loads of good story-line possibilities.

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 19:46

No, Helen will blame herself for having pre-eclampsia and thus bringing the party to an early close.

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:48

Oh good. You mean we might still get rid of her? BTW.. think they'd drafted some Casualty writers in for this episode? The minute you heard the words 'banner' and 'roof' in the same sentence it was like the opening 5 mins of Casualty when you see teenagers larking about on bikes and a dirty great shard of broken glass in the foreground or some bloke setting up his barbecue next to a petrol pump.

carocaro · 02/01/2011 19:50

But tears aflow when Helen let Tony in to see the baby, I had this conversation in my head when DS1 was born 6 weeks early and in special care; my Dad had died 18 months before.

Anyway............lots of cracking fall out to follow!

Helen and Henry not out of the woods yet... mark my words. And Tony and Pat have to get back from the hospital in one piece, shaken by the news of Pargeter's untimely demise! Phil Archer might have to scootch up a bit so that there's room for them all.

barbarianoftheuniverse · 02/01/2011 19:54

Come, come. Surely Freddie and Lily's extra huge size trampoline directly underneath? Am perfecly certain Nigel will come bouncing back in 30 seconds (thus giving David a heart attack).

unavailable · 02/01/2011 19:55

Was it definitely Nigel who fell?

I thought they left it open ended, but maybe I missed something (In my defence I was attempting to multi- task.)

animula · 02/01/2011 19:57

Can't believe how gutted I am.

The mn-er who suggested a New Year Lotto win for the Grundies should write the script. They should have had a fake roof thing, Chekhov style, and then cut to the Grundies suddenly realising that it's their lucky year. That would have shaken Ambridge up a bit.

Wonder if it was Nigel, now. Perhaps that's the surprise.

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 19:57

It was definitely Nigel but we don't know for sure if it was fatal or not.

ragged · 02/01/2011 19:57

Ooh, I suppose it could have been David. But sounded like Nigel had slipped, was hanging on by a little finger, and David was trying to figure out how to help him.

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:57

Nigel was soliloquying like crazy up there about his childhood and father. Sounded like a valedictory speech to me.... And the 'aaaaaarghhhhh!!!' was decidedly high-pitched and Pargetish.

I did think when Lizzie vetoed the idea and then Brenda left that the roof thing had all been a red herring and Brenda was going to fall asleep at the wheel on her way home (since she seems to have been suffering from narcolepsy recently)

GrendelsMum · 02/01/2011 19:59

No, it was definitely Nigel - TimBentinck (i.e. David) tweeted as much just now.

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 19:59

@Pixieonaleaf... ultimately we don't. He could be clinging onto a gargoyle and David could be doing his rasperry jam impression on the patio even now. Tune in tomorrow? :)
