Thank you to ThisIsYesterday for a fabulous all black Wayfarer. It is beautiful. DD3 loves it and we took it on the school run this morning. DD2 did well walking (only fell over once).

MonkeyJuice · 02/12/2011 11:42

Okay Im trying to keep up with everyone and which prams you all have now!
Twinkle my ears have pricked up at the mention of new summit wheels? Was there a reason? Are the new ones light-up? Bigger? Smaller?
When is the GT coming out?
I used my bjcm again yesterday as I needed something compact for ds's return hospital visit (he broke a finger last week! He was horsing around with his sisters and fell and bashed it hard on the toy box lid) and I must say that it was most useful. I used the 7am enfant snuggle bag on it, and it looked just fabulous with our purple bjcm. I have the change bag which clips on the side and that is awesome too. Makes life so much easier. It means I can easily access the recline when needed.
It's really cold here today (there was even frost first thing!) so I am v pleased to have the 7am snuggle bags. They actually do speed my morning up a lot and ds really likes them too, I think he prefers the snuggle bag to a snowsuit comfort wise! Although snowsuits are v useful for when he's not in the pram obviously.

I see you have your plus one at last twinkle, it sounds useful and roomy too, I did wonder if seat sizes would be roomy or not.

Truth sweet, I once had an all black wayfarer! They are good.

Misdee enjoy your new MB I hope it's compatible with your front door and steps!

TruthSweet · 02/12/2011 12:13

MJ - Do you know anything about their history? I'm really intrigued by how old it is/when where they last made etc? The manual had a website address on so it can't be that old...

I currently have :-
all black Wayfarer Light
Navy blue EasyLife Sport double
Blue Combi something or another

On their way out (before DH garrotes me!)
Jazz EaSyS SN pushchair
Peg Perego Roma

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 02/12/2011 12:16

The new Summit wheels have an adjuster button / switch for the tracking. I guess that makes sense if you run a lot! Its situated on the wheel and looked like a switch.
The Summit will also have different fabric - there seems to be a move towards the more canvas fabric of the City Select which is fab. I haven't had chance to look at the GT photos to see if that fabric is the same.
I was told not to expect anything before March at Harrogate. The last time Match was given as a date, the first items arrived at the end of May. But they haven't said March! The GT and Versa aren't even apparently on the system as yet honestly, honestly don't plan for it, or suggest it to people this side of June. If it arrives early then great, but I will keep my ear to the ground.

The 7am Snuggle sac sounds great. I am a bit stuck for a cosy toes for the +one. I suspect one will go on the front seat fine, but the back is more of an issue re how to attach it and the footwell area (I guess the bottom will need unzipping). More than that I suspect it would be nigh impossible to get DD into it. I may have to put her in a Buggysnuggle out of the pushchair and drop her in like that!! A warm blanket would be better. I have given up on the rear harness. It's too low to be sensible especially with a bad back. She can't climb out anyway, and once her feet are in the foot bag she's stuck in anyway! The only issue with that is how easy it will be to extract her feet should there ever be an emergency...they are pretty stuck and need a few tugs to release. I really don't want to be removing shoes unless I have to. That was one of the Grrrs with the Duet as DD kept kicking DS. The seats are plenty roomy. There doesn't look much space in the rear when you first look in, but with my tall 3 year old in, she's got bags of room for her and her brother on her knee should we wish (joke!)

The Wayfarer sounds lovely. Awww re DD2 falling over. Bless her!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 02/12/2011 12:20

I need to get down to:
The +one
My own Peach / Blossom
The Noa
Either the BJCM4 or the B-Agile - yes I am dithering after discovering the handle isn't much lower and the seating position is bigger with bigger footrest
The TwinGo
A offroader...which one, who knows??? Babyzen / Elite / indie / Qtro

FrostyMonkeyBaubles · 02/12/2011 12:41

Xmas Grin Here's my attempt at a Xmas monkey name! It was this or "jingle bells monkey smells"!

I think the black wayfarer may be from around 2002 other wayfarers I think began in the 1980's!

That is interesting about the tracking button for the summit twinkle. Are the newer canvas fabrics thicker? I'm wondering whether to sell mine and get the new one as the wheel tracking would be a good improvement for me. Maybe I can just get a wheel though?!
I guess it will be spring before its out?

Twinkle the 7am snuggle bags I have do open right out if you need to fit your child in, and the two attachment straps can be brought around behind the seat and fastened together if needed as this is how I've neatly attached it to my vista seat. I'm not sure if that would help in any way with the plus one. If you get a 10% Mothercare code they are fab value for two if the offer of buy one get one half price offer is still on (in conjunction with sale price etc).

FrostyMonkeyBaubles · 02/12/2011 12:42

Twinkle, suggest new bj summit as your off reader?

FrostyMonkeyBaubles · 02/12/2011 12:43

Darn it! iPad is making up words again! Off roader!!!

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 02/12/2011 13:07

Xmas Grin like the new xmas name
tiggy, what about blanket clips, i have both types and both are good, the yellow strap ones are great if you need to fix them to the frame further away from the seat and the white ones with metal clasps are great for fixing near, on the vista the metal ones are great because they fit onto the seat frame between the hood and bumperbar, but the yellow ones will be great on the xari where the bar is further away as they will have to go on the chassis i think

FrostyMonkeyBaubles · 02/12/2011 13:37

I am v happy! Xmas Grin I have found a way to attach this securely to the baby jogger without it getting in the way of recline. It won't and can't slip the way I've done it!
There are as I mentioned two long Velcro straps on the rear of the footmuff. I have threaded each one through the harness loop on the seat back above the setting I am using and taken each strap to the opposite strap and veclro' d them together at the nearest points to the bag making a nice tight fit and then just to be tidy velcro'd the left over ends together too. It's hard to explain. I'd better take pictures I think later.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 02/12/2011 15:31

Nice name. I did laugh at the alternative name though Xmas Smile

To be honest I don't need the Summit. The Elite is too much in many ways. I doubt you will be able to buy just the wheels. The canvas type fabrics are thicker - I liked the City Select fabric. It was smart and seemed good quality.

I need to think about the cosy toes. The +one rear seat is more like having the child in a box with a foot hole. The front seat I believe is two inches taller than the UJ seat (or so I was told) so DD can only just peek over the top (and she is tall for her age). I don't really want to be buying new cosy toes though. I love the 7AM Duo blanket we have in matt black but metallic isnt really me. I think I need to wrap DD up well in her JoJo Maman Bebe fleece gear and then simply throw in a thick blanket or the front half of her cosy toes? I may be able to fix the back part in as a liner, but I think they will all be too long and as soon as DD gets in, I am sure she will slide the whole thing down. Would the blanket clips, clip onto the back of a thick seat? So if I put the cosy toes in up to the top edge, could I then clip it onto the seat pad that is approx 1-2cms deep? Probably not.

suzie38 · 02/12/2011 16:17

I used to have an all black Wayfarer but swapped it for a Pop...What a huge mistake!!! Mind you DD never really liked the Wayfarer and i missed a bumper bar...Currently i have a Brio Go, Bumbleride Flite, Nuna Pepp, I'coo Vario, which i love, Mima Xari that's still for sale, all black Cameleon that's suppose to be collected this Sunday, M&P Nuna that i'm posting on Monday, 2x Graco Citisports that the grandparents both use and a Maclaren Quest that lives at my parent's house...I'd sell the Quest but i like having an emergency buggy in case i forget to take the Citisport with me.

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 02/12/2011 17:00

tiggy - the yellow ones have a shortish strap one end has a loop and one end has a clip [you get two], you place the strap around the frame or what ever and put the clip through the loop, then you shorten the strap to the length you require and clip blanket to it, so you need a place to put the strap around for each one

New wheels and thicker fabric on the summit might mean a bigger price tag on the new model. I bet I still end up getting one somehow. Lol!
It sounds like blankets might be the easiest option for the back seat of the plus one. It sounds like both seats are huge. Are the wheels etc sturdy? what is the overall weight limit?

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 02/12/2011 19:14

I have bought some to try :) Thanks! I sold my Easywalker Sky board earlier.
Now I NEED to shift some pushchairs. I think its time I paid my £10 and got selling!!
The +one is very sturdy. It wasn't light at the front like the Elite. I hung my heavy handbag / changing bag off the back, several bags of heavy shopping and it didn't flinch. I will get some photos live soon. I only have a few of the shopping trip. I had plans for nice Christmassy photos but the shopping centre was heaving because of the strike!!! Arrrghh! So I got a couple of boring snaps. I believe the weight limit is 20kgs x 2.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 02/12/2011 21:24

Ok, I paid my tenner! Let's hope it helps operation pushchair clear out / give DS his room back for Christmas! Xmas Hmm

So, new pushchair No 2 this week is the MyChild Pinto or in a different form, The John Lewis Complete Travel System. I have been wanting to look at one of these for ages as ome of you will know. Not least because it has the most huge shopping basket with a lid! Plus it's a bit Peach like which is my sort of look. I haven't taken it out yet but I did end up having an impromptu close examination when I attempted to alter the straps which required the whole thing stripping down to do so!!! It took aggggeesss to do.

DD looks great in the seat - very comfy with a good sized footrest. However the hood is a little low (but she is tall and 3!). The seat has a one handed release which is neat when you want to turn it around. The basket s indeed huge with the inner liner which is a tad flimsy at first look really and is velcroed in. It only seems to cover the rear basket section too, not the front. The handle height is tall to start with - at lowest it's about right for me and I like a tall handle. But extended it came practically up to my chin!! A definite good pushchair for a taller parent! I don't think I have seen such a tall telescoping handle. I need to measure it!

I am looking forward to getting it out. It looks neat and smart. I like it.
