Cross off the Nipper actually - handle height is only 97 cm. Boo.

Truthsweet

you had I lucky escape, those clips go a lot. It's £45 for the clip and Britax make you organise and pay to deliver and collect.

The Vista is up and Rumble seat is on and it looks fab! It's certainly unusual and eye catching! I need practice to get the Rumble seat on! It looks so easy in the videos - it took me several minutes of trying! Maybe I should read the instructions but if I can manage to fathom out a pushchair without instructions then that's good! I just need awake children now!!

MonkeysPunk · 18/10/2011 08:11

The Vista is a wonderful single buggy. I'm itching to know how it will handle with the rumble seat on. Hoping after a try out over carpet you'll be able to take your two out in it. Fingers crossed. X
I'm looking forwards to seeing pics of your rumble seat. Also the red covers. I tried to order red covers but they were out of stock, so ordered black instead. Bet the red covers are lovely.

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 11:44

I moved the Vista this morning and couldn't believe how light it was! It's really surprising! I tried DD in both seats. The Rumble seat did hold her weight without flinching - I was watching the joints etc - but I don't know how it would stand up to jolts, kerbs, steps etc. She's well over limit - not even a little bit. I don't mind baby being sat upright to sleep - we have plenty of head supports - but I do mind not seeing him in case he is sick. So I have put the seats facing each other and DDs legs are long enough to go all the way down into the basket, so hopefully she can't kick her brother. I am not sure how much room there is for DSs legs between hers, but we will see. After all I just want an outing or two to see how it handles with two on board etc on my standard test route. I always knew it wasn't going to work for my age children. DD is too big. The Rumble seat is really only an add on seat, rather than a tandem IYKWIM. You can't get a carrycot on top for a newborn, but you can a car seat, but it's a compromise as with a Joovy etc. Realistically for us, we could only have used it from the baby being 6 months until a month ago ie him being 13 months - so not a large time space really. If you have two light children then it could last a long time though!! So at the risk of being sizeist, it's one for small, light children :)

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 11:50

Actually you can use the Vista seat from birth can't you? Would you though? It's very buckety and surely a newborn would have their feet in the air?

MonkeysPunk · 18/10/2011 13:11

On the pics I've seen it worked okay - newborns sort of sleep all curled anyhow....perhaps with a body support.
The vista is a great pram for bigger kids - in the main seat....but I wonder about putting the larger child in the second seat - as that is the most weight over the front wheels - which must impact going up kerbs etc. Hmm

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 14:15

I will put DS in the Rumble seat today for a long run but will try DD in the rumble seat up some kerbs sometime. However the weight distribution looks better than the City Select. I just hope the rain stays off...I only have a B-Dual tandem rain cover - I kept it because it goes over everything lol

MonkeysPunk · 18/10/2011 14:30

Uppababy Vista Pics [hgrin] We still love it! Hoping you have fun with yours today tiggy....

Lol, I won't be able to recognise anyone soon!
I can't see the Vista pics as they need Flash :(
I am hoping to get out of the house ASAP with the Vista or else I will lee my slot for the day :(

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 17:31

We made it out :) It was good but I am not jumping up and down excitedly! DS started out in the Rumble seat which was fine until he fell asleep and he was so upright he was falling forwards as he fell asleep. I hadn't put DDs shoes on her (and forgot to throw them in the basket. So was forced in the middle of a shop to swap the two around. Thank goodness the Rumble seat held DD fine. I was a bit worried at first but I did try kerbs and steps with her at the front. The whole experience was very like the City Select except at this stage I could push my two easily enough - not always one handed but definitely on the flat. I failed to drive it off a step forwards - one of only two pushchairs that wouldn't do that. The handle bar heights were huge but the handle reminded me of the Hauck Duett. There was a bit of give in the handle and it's thin. The hood of the main seat is relatively low - there wasn't much room for either child to grow but then my two are tall and they were fine! I think in future I will remove the rumble seat footrest. It takes up too much of the basket. It's a piece you attach to the basket ie not part of the seat. But I had two bags of shopping in the basket and things were falling out. I love the way the peekaboo window is on a low hood fold (they are usually on top!) I could see straight through and see both children. I think it's a very good add on option. I enjoyed the run and will take it out again to try. I want to try it as a single too. I think my caveat on recommending it would be only if your eldest doesn't nap. I have to say I am now having second thoughts about the +one - I really am not sure how DS will nap in it.

Does anyone have any just cause or impediment as to why i can't buy a Mima Xari??? Speak now or forever hold your peace!!!

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 18:38

Lololol no reason here!! Get one bought!!!!

thisisyesterday · 18/10/2011 19:10

well, um... they are kind of... a bit ugly aren't they?

and the seat looks tiny. this baby is almost too tall for it already!

I may be a pushchair heathen though lol
if you love it then go for it

Tiggywunkle · 18/10/2011 19:34

To be honest I wasn't a Mima fan until I got to try the Kobi and it was so beautiful and well engineered that I couldn't help but love it. There really is nothing else like a Mima. Like you, I thought the seats were small but my 2 and 3/4 year old fitted the seat great There's lots of photos under the Reviews and Information green tab here. But equally if I had a pound for everyone who tells me a Peach seat is small or their ten month old is about to grow out of it, then I would be rich!

HauntedPramsScreamsGalore · 18/10/2011 19:53

thisisyesterday Shock the mima xari is the love of my life Grin it is a dream to push and just jaw dropping gorgeous, i often have admiring glances and comments on how lovely it is. suzie i say get one and my 3 year old still has plenty of growing room

HauntedPramsScreamsGalore · 19/10/2011 09:27

suzie have you bought a xari yet then!!!!!!!

aswellasyou · 19/10/2011 11:43

Oh suzie do it! Ignore TIY. Wink

thisisyesterday · 19/10/2011 16:04

well they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so you should probably ignore me if oyu love it! lol

anyway, i picked up my 99p bebecar today and it's really lovely! not the easiest thing to put up and down, but pushes nicely, lovely seat, high up... not that heavy.

when I got there the lady asked if I would like a m&p aria as well, which I took as I have a friend in need of a bbuggy.

I asked if I could give her more money and she said no.
So, I think I am going to send her a little gift or something in the post or some flowers to say thank you

MonkeyJuice · 19/10/2011 16:07

Ah that is lovely thisyesterday.

suzie38 · 19/10/2011 17:20

Went into Jonn Lewis...Lady found what she thought was the correct item using the codes Prams gave me...Then she decided to call Solihull as they sell the normal version...Tried ordering it but it was saying none is in the system...Tried explaining that Solihull were going to order the Cosmo version directly themselves from CR...Said she's phone around and try and sort it out and then get back to me...No one has called though...Thinking maybe i should contact CR directly myself...Have you seen the all black version on Pushchair Traders FB page??? Do you think it looks better than the silver seat??? I love the silver seat but a black seat you could have more choice in seat pads.

Tiggywunkle · 19/10/2011 17:20

Aww that is lovely :) Sometimes you just want things to have a good new home :)

MonkeyJuice · 19/10/2011 17:41

I would hold out for the silver seat personally. You want it just the way you like best if spending so much on the pram of your dreams.

aswellasyou · 19/10/2011 17:44

TIY, that woman was so kind! Smile
suzie, I really liked the look of the black seat unit. Silver wouldn't be my personal choice though. I haven't seen a photo of the brown leather one yet, but I think that would be too ott for my liking. I hope you manage to sort it out with JL but CR are very helpful if you need to contact them directly.
