Wow that looks cool for retro!

TruthSweet · 27/10/2011 20:51

I checked with the lady selling it that all 4 wheels swivel before saying I'd have it and it's only £5!! DH is rolling his eyes at getting another pram...

Tiggywunkle · 27/10/2011 21:00

You can't go wrong for £5! I have been madly photographing pushchairs in the rain and gloom to get some of ours gone! I still don't know what the I'coo is. It looks like the Pii. Was there an older version?

TruthSweet · 27/10/2011 21:04

Which I'coo do you mean?

I did get a little play with one at TIY's house on Monday. We are both in love with the black Wayfarer Why did SC stop making them??

Hungrydragon · 27/10/2011 21:13

my push sledge turned up yesterday sqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Haven't unpacked it yet, but the foot muff is lovely.

It had better snow!

Daisybell1 · 27/10/2011 21:18

Have been lurking for ages, catching up on all your nattering during night feeds.

Anyway, I think i'm in love. There's a purple pegasus on ebay! Tell me why I don't need need it. I want it very badly!

suzie38 · 27/10/2011 21:19

The M&P version didn't have 4 swivel wheels so you had to rear steer...I had the catalog that that was in though the M&P version...That's the sort of pushchair i'm going to have to stick with i think...Just waiting for a few things to sell on eBay (7 tonight but only clothes) so i can buy the new Nuna with Paypal money...I loved the Wayfarer and have had 2...I had one of those rubbing toys but mine was individual plates rather than a circle...We always got the cheap imitations which i guess is why DD doesn't!!! My toy lived at my Nana and Grandads house.

suzie38 · 27/10/2011 21:22

Hungrydragon i hope it doesn't snow [hwink]

TruthSweet · 27/10/2011 21:25

That is a very very nice pram Daisy You need it (to stop me wanting itWink)

How old are your pram dwellers and how many prams do you have/had?

Suzie - mine was from a jumble sale so I certainly didn't get the best Grin Mind you my girls are very 2nd hand Rose too

aswellasyou · 27/10/2011 21:35

Truth, that's so cute!
And the purple Pegasus looks lovely. The hood's not huge though. It would be perfect for around your farm.

Tiggywunkle · 27/10/2011 21:57

The Pegasus is lovely:)
My I'Coo must be a Pii - it looks like this one But I have front wheel issues. They don't seem to swivel and I think it's because they aren't both in contact with the ground?? Even my 3 year old didn't make a difference. It's got a really tall handle. It parent and outward faces.
I got the B-Agile out today. Hubby and I spent ages playing with the opening mechanism because last time I tried it didn't seem logical...and it's not! It's takes two hands and some space which gives it a minus point against the one handed flick open City Mini eg getting off a bus or train. I hope the automatic lock on the GT doesn't spoil that - I think I read somewhere you can choose to have it on or not on the GT.

TruthSweet · 27/10/2011 22:01

That looks like TIY's one (her's is a really nice olive green). She might be able to help with the wheels (I think they don't swivel so much as sway from side to side)

suzie38 · 27/10/2011 22:13

That looks cool and might actually fit in my tiny car!!!

suzie38 · 27/10/2011 22:27

But tall handle no good...Tiggy, the Nuna handle was 102cm maximum.

thisisyesterday · 27/10/2011 22:45

my i'coo is the platon and it's a BEAST of a pushchair. Lovely thing though.

mine has steerable wheels rather than swivel wheels iyswim? they're on a little axel so as you push left or right they kind of turn that way.
there is a lock at the front to turn it on or off

TruthSweet · 27/10/2011 23:09

TIY/Tiggy - In my defense if you have a teeny tiny NetBook like I do and have crap eye sight all prams look remarkable similar

In all seriousness the back curve on the chassis and the handle are very similar on the Platon & the Pii, aren't they?

Tiggywunkle · 27/10/2011 23:14

Lolol! No defence needed :)
I just don't understand why these wheels are odd! I believe the pushchair is pretty much new - and it does look it.
Thanks Suzie re the Nuna handle. Just out of interest where do you measure to? I usually measure to the top. The B-Agile was higher than the 96cms quoted earlier. I don't have my notebook to hand but I am sure it was 100.5cms. That makes a difference!

suzie38 · 27/10/2011 23:17

I'll have to confirm tomorrow...Mind you the handle depth is only about 1cm.

TruthSweet · 28/10/2011 11:32

I've picked up the Peg Perego pushchair - it's a Roma which really reminds me of an Aria (but without the switching handle).

Pros - Very light, can wheel it about when folded, all 4 wheels are braked and swivel, folds small, feels sturdy, adjustable leg rest, came with the original paperwork including a brochure of other Peg Perego prams from the mid-90s Grin

Cons - Raincover takes up the whole basket, only a 3 point harness, the hood is small, handle is a little lower than a modern pushchair and is not adjustable

Tiggywunkle · 28/10/2011 11:42

Lol re the 90s prams! I bet there's some interesting ones there! In the early 90s I was pushing an M&P white one with blue spots. It wasnt actually too bad to be honest.
I wish someone would make some good raincover storage. Buggy baskets do covers for Quinnys and will make to order, but raincovers need a bag with Velcro tabs to attach to the frame and which stay on when folded. I never have a raincover with me when I need it because most take up a good chunk f the basket. Ones with wire or plastic frames are even worse. My air buggy mimi raincover has a double width wire through the centre!! It makes it huge. Yet the baskets are two small ones! So there's nowhere to put it at all! Equally I broke the Kobi raincover because it has to be folded a certain way or else you break the spines :( I didn't know.

TruthSweet · 28/10/2011 11:52

I used to have two mesh buggy bags (from the pound shop no less) that I attached to the back of the First Wheels City Twin seats to hold the raincovers without taking up all the basket space. I'll have to see if that will work for this one.

A friend has got a Chicco pushchair that has the raincover attached to the hood (it's rolled up into a pouch that is under the visor) you just unzip and it rolls out. Brilliant idea.

Tiggywunkle · 28/10/2011 12:22

I like the punnet on the Strawberry for a raincover. The Chicco sounds great. I like the MB ones which have a velcro one pouch even though you need a degree in origami to get them back in. I am sure pushchair manufacturers could get ingenious if they tried. I bet pouches could be made under the seats, hoods or backs of pushchairs....
