New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

Oh no! That's awful. At least you spotted it quickly and the wheel didnt fall off in use. So disappointing for you. Not to mention the frustration involved sending all these buggies back.
:(
Trying to think of a way to occupy my kids tomorrow. Might take them to the art gallery....(they like paintings showing bottoms and boobies best!), in the hopes I can sneak to JL (which is nearby) to view the mimas after...
Or stay home and make a collage of the beautiful sunset they saw on the way home today...

What's the other pushchair asides from the Jane???

aswellasyou · 16/08/2011 23:12

Monkeys, I don't want to hear about the B-Dual's wonky wheels! Grin I've just bought one! Grin
100 Volos really isn't many at all. I'd wait until it's sold out before selling yours.

Tiggy, I've never had a problem with anything I've bought second hand but have been into Babies R Us twce in a few weeks because the Chicco and B-Mobile have both had issues.Hmm
I've got my B-Mobile sorted now and I really like it! It's not great on cobbles but I wouldn't expect it to be. It's so easy to manoeuvre and feels light to push, especially considering it has hard wheels. The hood could be a tad bigger but that's the only downside to it. The basket's a really decent size (I've had my handbag, raincover, toys and a bag of shopping in it) and very easy to access even when the seat's fully reclined.

aswellasyou · 16/08/2011 23:17

Monkeys Grin at the bums and boobies! Tiggy, that's so disappointing. Sad Have you opened cases for any of them. If you put that you want a refund, wait a few days (4 maybe) while the seller offers mediation of some form, then say 'no' when eBay asks if you're happy with the seller's offer to return the pushchair presumably, you should get all your money back.

Honeydragon · 16/08/2011 23:45

wow, there's a contours on ebay for £150 bit pick up and another for £220 delivered, bit. Is this pramaholics trying and then selling, or are they not as practical as them seem?

aswellasyou · 16/08/2011 23:49

It could be either. I'm about to sell ours too-it's just too heavy for Saoirse and we'd like something smaller too. That's where the B-Dual comes in.Smile

Honeydragon · 16/08/2011 23:54

Suzie, what bumper bar did you manage to fit on your bee again?

Honeydragon · 16/08/2011 23:55

I was wondering after you said it was heavy.

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 09:44

I liked the Contours a lot but I have issues with that too as one of the front pins holding the wheel axle has fallen out after just two runs and won't stay in now. We can't get the other out either. But I think it's a good pushchair for the money. Large seats, great to push, huge basket, better seating positions than the BJCS plus you can see the front of the pushchair which you can't with the BJCS and I kept bumping DDs feet. The only downsides for me is the fold is unwieldy and an odd shape and it's a bit long. But length is no issue for simply walking. It doesn't feel heavy to push nor to lift compared to some of the pushchairs I have tried.

MonkeysPunk · 17/08/2011 10:28

My BJ footmuff and raincover have been shipped but there's no tracking. Hope they haven't been sent 2nd class RM. :(
I've got to Chase up my name tapes too as 2 of the 3 on order arrived Saturday, and the other one has not come.
3 goodbyn lunch boxes from funky moose vanished before arriving recently and husbands birthday cards were slit. As were the kids bday cards earlier this year.
I hate the Russian roulette RM has become. :(

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 10:36

Monkeys, that's shocking! I've never had anything go missing or slit open, touch wood. Confused

I'm already checking my pushchair order even though it says 7-10 days.Grin Saoirse made me buy it online even though they're only about 8 or 9 miles away and we could have gone there today. I did use a £15 off code and Saoirse got 5% credit for referring me, but I want it NOW!

aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 10:38

Tiggy, I meant to ask, do you want me to take photos of it with the main seat rear facing comparing it with/without the height adapters? I don't know whether you'd be allowed or want to advocate using them since they're not supposed to go with the B-Dual.

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 11:04

I have had three Ebay parcels go missing lately. It annoys the heck out of me because you are the one who gets the negative or neutral feedback even though it's not yur fault. As an individual you can't just replace a missing item coz you only usually have one of them. I also think ots daft that EBay doesn't accept a printed proof of postage when the postcode is printed on a proof of postage when Royal Mail accept it. I've just had a really bad run lately and none of it has been my fault :( But the ABC was a good buy :)

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 11:05

What I meant to say before my son raspberried porridge everywhere and distracted me, is that with a proof of postage buyers shouldn't be allowed to leave negative feedback when you definitely posted the item.

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 11:09

Aswellasyou....to be honest there are various things already on BB that people have tried or asked me to try. So photos would be fab :) I just write some sort of disclaimer with it. But I think it's worth knowing about.

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 11:23

Aswellasyou - would you be a sweetheart and try the regular britax 'push forward' adaptors too and see if they fit on top or underneath. I have someone who would like to know. BTW are you not allowed to pick the pushchair up even though you bought online?

aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 11:27

I will try them together for you. You may have to remind me though! I was thinking of calling them to ask about collecting it and buying even more stuff instore. Wink It seems such a waste for them to pay for a courier when they're so close.

aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 11:30

I forgot to say, the shop I bought it from has the Strawberry instore! I'd like to stroke see it in real life. Smile

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 11:37

Well seeing the Strawberry is worth the trip :) I think it's nicer in RL. Lol re buying more stuff in store. Baby shops are lethal :) Give them a call.

suzie38 · 17/08/2011 17:48

My accessory box has arrived, though it's at next doors and don't think anyone is home yet...But at least no customs to pay Smile I'm a bit disappointed with the Orbit as it's so much harder to push than the Donkey, that pushes itself!!! It's definetely one of those pushchairs, that works better with a full load...Empty it has very stiff suspension, like my Vista did...Loaded up you can see it working as the brake pedal moves around...Handles grass and cobble bricks fine...Even though i do prefer one handle, these ones are angled perfectly and the perfect height, on the lowest setting...Neighbor has just brought said box around...Boy i think she's smaller than my mum, who's only 4'6"!!! The box is a Bugaboo box...Back to review...In the forward facing position, the seat is miles ahead though it did mean i could store the picnic blanket between the seat and handle, along with nappy bag and DD lunch bag...The stroller does look best in rear facing, though you have to have the footrest at it's highest position, but as DD is tiny, it won't be too much of an issue...I do like the seperate handles as it's so easy to hang bags off them, without faffing with the hooks i usually use...It's a bit of a pain fitting it in the Meriva...Think it means i'll have to take some of the crap out of the boot...Not an issue for me, but it doesn't lock in the full recline position so if you had a tiny baby in the seat, then an older sibling could easily push it into the semi reclined position...Though i think a lot of Americans use the baby car seat which is a fixed recine seat...Another bad point is that the back wheels are almost 64cm wide, on the website it says 24"...So it's wider than my Donkey so will not fit through the Post Office door.

suzie38 · 17/08/2011 17:58

Onto the accessories...Panniers look great and unlike the Donkey's basket, they have hidden covers zipped into the sides so fine to use in the rain...Can't wait to put the watermelon color set on especially since DD did a huge wee and wet the original seat liner earlier today...The hood also comes with rods so no faffing around rethreading them, like you do with Bugaboos...Mind you the Frog/Cameleon ones were easy but i hated changing the Bee Plus's though on the day i sold mine, i figured out that the rod connector had been misaligned the whole time i had it...Footmuff comes in a resuable fabric bag...It's nice and thick but cream colored inside!!! Has a zip out part at the bottom for long legs/dirty shoes...Only bit i'd change is by having a fleece lining which i love and all my Bugaboo footmuffs/customs have had...It's made of organic fabric...Raincover and mosquito nets came yesterday though won't be using the net, i'm sure.

suzie38 · 17/08/2011 17:59

Another thing, i nipped into my local Mothercare today and all the lower windows were boarded up...I wonder if they were rioted last week, by pushchair looters!!!

www.thinkbaby.co.uk/product-news/britax-launches-new-buggy---the-b-agile/4734.html

Got this in an email today.

aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 19:21

Suzie, it's disappointing it doesn't push better. Did you take it to the cloth nappy meet-up? I hadn't realised it was so wide-more companies need to think about the width of the pushchairs they make.

I called the shop I bought the B-Dual from and they're going to call me as soon as it's ready to be collected, hopefully tomorrow.Grin
