New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

Great video and it's nice to see the four wheel version. etc. Some bits look better than the BJCM eg the wheels and suspension, but the hood isn't as deep unless you have the mesh on show which a) isn't appropriate in winter and b) the BJCM hood makes it dark for sleeping. The basket access is much better. The fold looks as good as the BJCM. It would be an one to compare...I think it will have to go on my list....

MonkeysPunk · 17/08/2011 20:39

I think plo have posted the snugglebag and raincover royal mail second class...wish I'd read the shipping details more closely. I really hope they arrive. Our post service is so unreliable.

OP posts:
suzie38 · 17/08/2011 20:56

I think the handle on the Britax B Agile is a few inches lower than the BJCM so would be more suited to me...Though i don't need anymore pushchairs!!!

Yes i did take it to the cloth picnic...Lots of people there, were more into slings!!! I had slings but didn't use because i wanted to use my pram and pushchairs instead!!! Maybe if i spray the wheels, they'll feel looser...Mp had to do that with her Swift, didn't you???

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 21:11

This is kind of interesting

TruthSweet · 17/08/2011 21:17

Given the length of it, it has a teeny tiny basket (quite literally a basket!). It also looks like the front seat reclines on top of the back seat's foot rest.

I wonder how old it is? It does have 5 point harnesses so it's not 70's/early 80's so I guess it's late 80's/early 90's.

Tiggywunkle · 17/08/2011 21:20

I know...I did laugh at the tiny basket. Which reminds me, my rumble seat won't come until mid September which is really :( as it will probably be in the UK by then anyway...ho hum!

Honeydragon · 17/08/2011 21:25

I quite like that M&P double.

Honeydragon · 17/08/2011 21:27

info and bigger basket here

suzie38 · 17/08/2011 21:28

Pretty sure that's from the 90's...I used to get the catalogs even back then.

aswellasyou · 17/08/2011 21:38

I've seen quite a few of these on eBay in the past. I think they're really cute but only really useful for throwing in the car for short trips out.

MonkeysPunk · 17/08/2011 22:29

The twin buggies on ebay are sweet! I think they must be 90's.
I took the bjcm out for a quick one mile walk today, it was a tad heavy to push but last time I used one was a year ago when Ds was smaller and lighter. I was using the clip on side bag, and parent console, but actually I'm wondering if it'd work better for me if I put a changebag on the handlebar, so its easier to lift the front wheel for kerbs etc. Don't get me wrong its not really bad, but I think I could improve manouverability adding weight to the handlebar, and maybe wd40 to the front swivel mechanism.
I did wd40 the swift a lot and it much improved the performance. So its worth a try.
As small buggies go the bjcm is still the best for me with its large basket, easy one handed fold and superior seat and comfort for the passenger.
The Micralite superlight is easier to push but I don't think its quite so comfy for my child, nor is it quite so easy to fold, and I find accessing the basket on the Micralite much trickier.
The nipper 360 is the easiest to push and use buggy aside from the fold out of the buggies I have, and once you've tried it you are measuring all other buggies next to it in terms of lightness to push and manouverability.
Happily the uppababy vista compares favourably.

MonkeysPunk - I used an ordinary pram clip (you know the navy ones from the dark ages) on the middle strut to hang a change bag on. It does push the hoods down in the middle slightly but DH has promised to add a ring of epoxy resin (I think I tuned out at the finer details!) to stop that happening.

MonkeysPunk · 18/08/2011 15:05

All is quiet here today! Have you all gone for long pram walks in the rain?
My footmuff and raincover still have not arrived. Second class post is at least a week here....if it arrives at all. Sigh.
It's raining and we can't use the bjcm because I obviously should've read the delivery details and realised I was looking at 1-2 weeks delivery time with www.preciouslittleone.com. :( I think my Vista travelled from the usa in less time!
How are you getting on with the Orbit suzie38? I am quite envious!
Tiggy i wish your rumbleseat would hurry! I really want to find out if you like your Vista. I'm secretly hoping its your easiest to push double!

suzie38 · 18/08/2011 15:15

Well the rain still hasn't appeared here yet...DD is napping upstairs...Getting my vintage Mothercare ready for eBay...The Orbit isn't as good as i'd hope it would be...It feels very heavy to push...Plus it was a bugger to get in the boot, granted it's got quite a bit of clutter in...DD seems too far ahead when ff, but she seems to love it and DH had no complaints when he took it to the park...It looks best rf but i don't do that much though like to have the option...It's a very long stroller which surprised me plus it's wider than it says on the website...So i'm still hankering after a Xari but to get one i would have to sell the Donkey but if i buy from Europe for around £770 then i could sell the Donkey for a similar price.

MonkeysPunk · 18/08/2011 15:35

There's a kiddicare citi 3 wheeler on www.kiddicare.com for £59.99 today. It's there deal of the day. I can't decide if they had hauck or graco make it for them! Just thought i would mention it incase anyone's after a cheapy.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 18/08/2011 15:47

What a shame about the Orbit. How disappointing. OH keeps remarking on the box in the hall ie the Vista. I haven't opened it yet. I see no point because I cant use it as a single. My worry is that DD will be too heavy for the Rumble seat. I have a feeling it will get sold on pretty quickly, but I do hope it pushes well. I haven't found a tandem to top the new Peach Blossom yet. The Valco people asked for photos two days ago but haven't sent an e mail addy through. I am going to take the Nipper to the shops now but the width makes me nervous...I have struggled with smaller pushchairs in the past....I certainly can't get into the post office or frozen food shop....

MonkeysPunk · 18/08/2011 16:19

Can you upload photos to Photobucket or similar, and email the pics via ebay messages, or is there an email for them on the paypal invoice? Or send the photobucket pic links via paypal dispute system? That way there's a record that you did send requested pics.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 18/08/2011 17:02

I haven't started a dispute case yet..but if I have no reply by tonight then I will certainly be opening one. Two days is ample time to check mail and respond. Uploading them to somewhere is a good idea but I dont want my other albums open for them to see, ditto re my own webspace....I think its fair enough if they asked me to e-mail them, for them to provide me with an address!!

Honeydragon · 18/08/2011 19:13

I have posted excitedly about the Surf.......on the wrong thread, and was about to post about Icanys here till I saw Tiggy had mentioned ebay.

I am crap Grin

Tiggywunkle · 18/08/2011 19:32

It's really not my week :( I got the Nipper out to test it's shopping capabilities with the basket on, but when we got home home hubby spun the wheel and announced one was buckled and the other slightly so. Hubby said we would never have noticed TBH if he hadn't spun the wheel as the handling was great. He thought it was to do with the way the wheel had been manufacturered but who knows. It was only it's the second time we had taken it out and it's been stored safely. At least we bought it new. But it's more to box up and return :(

Honeydragon · 18/08/2011 23:09

Tiggy Sad

aswellasyou · 19/08/2011 10:41

Oh Tiggy! You really aren't having much luck.Sad

MonkeysPunk · 19/08/2011 11:55

My baby jogger footmuff and raincover have arrived at last. The purple footmuff is a different shade to the pushchair fabric. A fair bit lighter and pinker, however its still smart and a good fit. Generous enough in size for Ds also.
The bjcm is so light and convenient compared to the maclaren xlr too! I'm also pleased to see the raincover is an improved fit, and seems thicker plastic too.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 19/08/2011 12:14

It's a shame about the Nipper in many ways. The storage is fantastic with the basket on. We got tons of shopping home on it yesterday (but it won't fit through the door of the other shop) and I need pushchairs to carry groceries home. It was very light with both children in although I don't like the way DD dangles her outside leg because she can't get it on the footplate but the bucket seat I think makes it safer for her ie she can't touch the ground. the Baby Jogger Footmuffs look fab.I am contemplating them. Would my almost three year old fit? How do they fix? Will they slide down if not tied etc?

FriggFRIGG · 19/08/2011 14:28
