More embarrassingly, they remembered me looking for the Miracle turn, they still cannot import Combis Sad

suzie38 · 21/09/2011 22:01

What's the Pod??? I had to pay upfront before UPS would let me have my Orbit.

suzie38 · 21/09/2011 22:04

On Mimas Facebook page, there's some pictures of different decorated Xari's...Plus a black chassis with black seat unit.

Tiggywunkle · 21/09/2011 22:11

The Pod is the Baby Jogger bike trailer / jogging pushchair. We asked about it when we were buying our trailer and we were told there was no sniff of them being imported here. I have been billed for import fees after an item as been delivered before now. It did say $300 on the outside of the box - I took the labels off sharpish because DH doesn't know where it came from lol! I am off to look at the Mimas now!
I think I need to sell the Xtreet next - it's incredibly cute and sturdy but it's only been used briefly a couple of times. We are more likely to pick the Noa up, or the Surf...and with the BJCM4 / B-Agile on the way I don't see us using it. I feel a bit sad that it's not getting used though....coz it's lovely....plus I have a brand new cosy toes for it for winter! Maybe I need to hide the Noa for a bit??

MonkeysPunk · 22/09/2011 13:09

Anyone have experience of what the quinny senzz is like?

There are some real bargain buggies/pushchairs and packages here for anyone wanting something NEW! (sold direct from Dorel)
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Pushchairs-Prams-/66698/i.html?_catref=1&_fln=1&_ssn=babyvalue&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282

I just ordered a brand new senzz - with footmuff in "spring" (the USA colourway I think - I hate the British/Euro colours they made.....). Bargain at £89.99 Clearly despite being happy with what I have - I'm not over my buggy addiction yet! Blush

Introducing the Orbit Baby Double Helix!!!!! www.orbitbaby.com/en/double/#playvideo It looks long!

Tiggywunkle · 22/09/2011 14:41

www.orbitbaby.com/en/double/#playvideo Try again!!

MonkeysPunk · 22/09/2011 14:48

OOoh, that helix double is clever thinking! I would've tried that (finances allowing) when my girls were small!
Imagine if they start squabbling - you can just spin one or both the other way to stop the quibble right away! LOL (if you can do it while they're in their seats)...
I'm still feeling quite pleased about my impulse senzz buy.....winstanleys said on FB they were selling at £149 - I was about to buy - but checked ebay first to see some "real life" pics (as web search didn't show many) but I think what I paid (which includes the footmuff - which seems to have double zippers that open at the foot end) is about right for me - as it will be occasional use - and I love those "spring" colours....no doubt ds would've chosen the "flame" as he loves orange - but sadly for him - mummy loves yellow! Monkey - I love the look of the Senzz but I read/saw some reviews that were less than complementary on the handle comfort (it's flat and not at all hand friendly apparently). Plus the number of Senzz I saw that were being sold on as '1 week old', 'used once', 'just taken out of box'....put me off. Hopefully it's ok to push really but the reviewers had to find something to criticise

Tiggy - I love the Orbit Helix especially as it can be used as a travel system for a child (the Toddler seat goes to 65lbs/30kg ffing and 35lbs/16kg rfing). So you could use it as a travel system and take twins in a taxi at age 3 and rf!! Absolutely amazing idea from Orbit. If only they would release it in the UK....

MonkeysPunk · 22/09/2011 15:42

I think the non adjustable handle height might be an issue for some. If you look at the kiddicare video, it looks tall on the lady demonstrating it. Could be handlebar shape also. I'll find out soon!

Tiggywunkle · 22/09/2011 15:52

I gave ordered a Senzz - with the BJCM4, B-Agile, Noa, Xtreet and Surf I can do a lightweight stroller line up (even though the surf doesn't really fit and is out of date Lol). I had a play at a show. It wasn't a favourite but looked pretty sturdy and good. Its a one handed fold if I remember correctly. I ordered the blue.
I think Orbit will come to the UK - I understand that they said they were in Cologne. But the Double Helix isn't out until next year. it's a good add on package but I was just saying I don't think the seat nearest the parent can parent face?

MonkeysPunk · 22/09/2011 15:59

It should be good to compare those. I too could give my comparisson between the senzz and bjcm.
I was just about to ask which colour you bought. Lol! I am hoping its good and solid. I like the look of the fold and carry handle. Hoping its good for stairs and public transport. The basket looks nice as does the seat and harness.
Holly schulz thought it was a two handed push with bigger kids, but stroller queen said it was an easy push even with big kids.

aswellasyou · 22/09/2011 17:23

I just came on to say about the double Orbit, but you beat me to it! Grin

Tiggywunkle · 22/09/2011 18:11

Who has a new title ready? I can never think of one!

suzie38 · 22/09/2011 19:23

Me neither as in titles...Wonder if the double bit will attach to the current Orbit model??? I love the way the Senzz folds, reminds me of the Brio Go but that does the fold to horizontal whereas the Senzz does it to vertical...Shame the handle height isn't adjustable...Hopefully Mp you'll get yours quickly so we can have a review Smile

Tiggywunkle · 22/09/2011 19:58

There's supposedly a G2 upgrade / add on package coming at some point.

suzie38 · 22/09/2011 20:02

Looks like that on the video, you get the seat unit and a new handle unit...You need the biggest of boots to get everything in...I struggled with my Orbit though if there wasn't a toy box in there, it'd have been easier but that extra unit plus seat really wouldn't fit.

Tiggywunkle · 22/09/2011 20:11

I thought as much - it's a bit cheeky to show the nice neat fold after you have put the car seat in ie one seat, not two! I did wonder how easy it would be to get two seats in a car.

suzie38 · 22/09/2011 21:10

I guess a lot of Americans have those huge people carriers so not too much of an issue...But i struggled with one Orbit in a Meriva which does obviously have a pretty generous boot.

Honeydragon · 22/09/2011 22:22

Bugaboo have offered me a shiny new foot muff or organizer to make up for a bonked head and the inconvenience, I now have to wait for UPS to come and swap the chassis over.

They also helpfully suggested that as dd is not currently in favour of the chair that I go and look at their new selection of hoods and liners and recover the pushchair so she thinks its a different one! Yes Mr Bugaboo person I'll just whip out a £100+ on new fabrics, for that much I can a new stroller Grin I think they are used to rich people talking to them Hmm

I will not moan though as M/Care have been so lovely. I'm very keen to see if these new wheels cut the mustard.

MonkeysPunk · 23/09/2011 06:58

Honeydragon, it sounds as though bugaboo have acknowledged your daughter may have psycholgical issues about getting into the buggy again....which is their fault for supplying a faulty product...so how dare they suggest you foot the bill for their recommended solution! It is my opinion they should be sending new covers foc!

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 23/09/2011 07:38

I know Monkeys, but from a business point of view they can't admit that. They know people research a product like this before they buy, and they are not going to want to admit to any issues. I have emailed them to say it was a bit cheeky to do a full on sales pitch!

If they suggest it again I shall point out that I will sell the foot muff and buy new fabrics from Snunkie Wink

When the new wheels come is the deal breaker for me, they say using different plastic bearings has fixed the shimmy, but a few people on Facebook are saying that they have then had issues with manouvreibility compared to the old. These are now the newest offering they are sending, they have tested it before sending out.

Currently the chassis is in Brussels somewhere with UPS, so will be here Monday. It will be interesting to see if they've solved the problem, assuming I can get dd to stay in their for more than 2 minutes!

MonkeysPunk · 23/09/2011 08:11

You could probably buy a new senzz complete with footmuff from ebay if you sold the bugaboo footmuff gift! Wink

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 23/09/2011 09:19

I'll be interested in what you think of the Senzz, they get massively varying reviews, I like the colour you've picked though.
