New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

OP posts:
FriggFRIGG · 15/08/2011 22:34

then yes tiggy! it will goGrinit'll look lovely!i love starry things!

aswellasyou · 15/08/2011 22:35

I think it'll go. Or this or a leopard print one! I'm in animal print mode looking for a zebra one at the moment, can you tell?!Grin

Tiggywunkle · 15/08/2011 22:40

But is it the right brown? I am trying to put two iPad windows next to each other to colour match and it's not working lolol

Tiggywunkle · 15/08/2011 22:41

I mean will they clash..,they aren't the same! Lol re animal print. £120 is a lot to get it wrong lolol!

aswellasyou · 15/08/2011 22:46

I'm actually not sure they will go to be honest.Confused

aswellasyou · 15/08/2011 22:50

Have you looked at the 'wolf' one?

aswellasyou · 15/08/2011 22:54

I need to step away from the animals!Hmm

Tiggywunkle · 15/08/2011 23:10

I don't like the wolf ones....I was all set to buy boring black earlier coz I am fed up of looking. I am not convinced that Buggysnuggles are right not least because they will probably slide down annoyingly on the Peach...and I could get baby a proper Peach footmuff but I want something that transfers too to other pushchairs. The Buggysnuggles have the slits in the back to push the harness through easily which is the main attraction. I've searched and searched and searched and phoned and phoned lololol OH told me to get the star ones then in the next breath to go and try our current red ones on it first Hmm That wasn't my plan A!!

MonkeysPunk · 15/08/2011 23:14

Glad you love your new bag Friggfrigg, they are pretty useful aswell as smart.
I think you should get outlast snugglebags still. In Orange and cream? One of each that is....

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 15/08/2011 23:19

Hubby doesnt like them and I could do with an easy swap....I kind of like the cosyoskos and they are on offer at Mothercare...but they aren't easy swap.

suzie38 · 16/08/2011 06:23

The pushchair is finally on the van for delivery!!! Though please don't arrive till after 2pm please!!! The accessory box doesn't appear to be arriving today unless they've linked both boxes together as originally they were, until one got left behind in the shop.

MonkeysPunk · 16/08/2011 11:56

Hope your pushchair gets to you today suzie38.
I just checked my Precious little one order for the BJ footmuff and raincover and it looks as though its not despatched yet. Not great for a website boasting next delivery if ordered by Xx time, with a countdown clock on the product page! Grrr, and its raining here today too.

Hoping to get the two maclarens and BJ summit xc photographed and boxed before lunch today.

Bugger...A £97.40 charge which DH couldn't pay!!! Even though in hindsight he could have, as his cheque book was in the kitchen...The delivery man said he wouldn't be getting back until 6pm time so we'll drive over to the depot and collect it around 7pm...Hoping the accessory box is also there, even though it's supposedly at Castle Donnington still...There's a cloth nappy picnic tomorrow so it'd be great rolling up with the Orbit...Last year i took my newly bought Bee Plus...Mind you doesn't go, hand in hand with cloth nappies does it???!!!
Mp I've got my Oyster plus accessories and the vintage Mothercare to list plus a few other bits and pieces...I like Kiddicare for the countdown clock but after reading a few bad stories, i'll be less likely to buy from them these days...Also saw a lady standing at a bus stop on my home, with a green Vista but with the carrycot on...Hope the bus isn't too full.

suzie38 · 16/08/2011 15:34

Ohhhh...Exciting news!!! The UPS man decided to try again...DH opened his cheque book so i've now got my Orbit Baby G2 in my house!!! Just got to figure out, how to put it together.

Tiggywunkle · 16/08/2011 16:00

Whoohooo! £97.40 is a lot though. I have never had anyone ask for a cheque on the doorstep though!! I hope you work out how to put it all together!

suzie38 · 16/08/2011 16:35

It went together very easily Smile Mind you i've had enough practice recently!!! Cheque is easier because with cards he needs to start ringing someone up...Otherwise it'd be doing it online i guess or over the phone myself or cash at the depot.

First thoughts are it's very long...When the seat is facing forwards DD is miles away from me...But it does mean i can rest the nappy bag between the handle and the seat which i like...Rear facing looks nicer though but you can only have the footrest on setting one, that way...Luckily DD is tiny so it shouldn't be an issue...She's napping at the moment so she's not sat in it yet...Lowest handle setting is fine...Tallest is in line with my chesticles!!! The bag will work as a tray as it's sprung so doesn't close all the way so you can pop small bits into it, though since i'm getting the panniers it's not too much of an issue...Rick managed to put the weather packs into the box so i've got those...Raincover feels lightweight so will take up less room when folded up...Hood is huge, there's no way my mum would see over it at 4'6", i'll struggle to see where i'm going when it's up!!! Think i'd best go to the picnic tomorrow to see if anyone notices it's unusual...The UPS man might try twice tomorrow if DH isn't in late morning...Otherwise i'll be home all Thursday anyway...PS Don't think it'll fit through the Post Office door though.

aswellasyou · 16/08/2011 21:42

Ooooh! How exciting suzie. I'm interested to hear how you get on with it while out and about.

MonkeysPunk · 16/08/2011 21:46

The precious little one order did not arrive today. :(
On the upside, I went in Babiesrus and saw the Phil and Teds smart irl. It's damn expensive in there though £179.99! It has low handles, but didn't feel bad to push, at least not when empty. The seat looks ridiculously small. Dd2 thought it was a dolls pram! I like the innovative seat material but it looked somewhat more organic than I'd imagined. It does look alittle like a material you might find in a garden center.
The seat liner in it looked a poor fit, bunched up and made the seat appear even smaller. Whilst there are some cool features I do think they could go back to the drawing board with this one and make some improvements, such as overall a larger buggy and seat with height adjustable handles and lockable swivel wheels. They could be raking it in. Esp if they could keep the retail price under £200 and offer choice of seat color and canopy.

Tiggywunkle · 16/08/2011 22:02

I love hearing about new pushchairs :) I am glad you played with the Smart. Did you fold it? I was surprised how long it is.
I had a disastrous day...in fact I am having a bad week as three of my EBay purchases are faulty or damaged and sorting them all out is driving me nutty :( I am never buying second hand again....

MonkeysPunk · 16/08/2011 22:06

I also walked behind a britax bdual with wonky rear wheels! Honestly, they were splayed quite badly I was trying to see if the rear axel was bent. It didn't seem to be. Rear wheels like this: / --- \ seen from behind are a pet hate of mine! I've seen i-candies like this and Jane pro slaloms and even slalom r's too.
Baby joggers don't do it, neither does the vista or the nippers. Mb's do. At least the newer ones. I think it affects performance. In a negative way, as do tyres with a low psi. Id love to do some sort of engineering mobility design course to be able to explain why. There are so many badly designed buggies with shite components, awful wheels without ball bearings, awful solid tyres that are not nice, I hate plastic foam stuff, and prefer a real rubber outer.
The b dual has nice looking seats, but parsts of the chassis look cheap to my eyes.

Suzie, glad your orbit is here now. It looks fab on web pics. Hope it is as good!
Cant believe I forgot to go into JL to view the xari and kobi!
We had dinner in IKEA and spent my boots points on lego and a curling wand, oh and 60 second polish in 3 shades of pink!
Ds was v comfy in the bjcm....which was heavier to push than I had remembered...I think its because he's 3 now. He really loves the purple colour. The girls thought it was a fab looking buggy too. They said it reminded them of blackberries....(the fruit, not the phone!).

MonkeysPunk · 16/08/2011 22:13

So sorry your ebay purchases have gone wrong. How disappointing and also difficult. :(
I forgot to say, today I discovered that candy volo I got is limited edition, its one of only a hundred made.....how long to wait before I sell? Just until the shops are all out? A year? Ten years? It's new in the box....although unwrapped to photograph earlier today.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 16/08/2011 22:23

Wow 100 isn't many. I would wait at least until the shops have sold out....but then again, just sell it! Was it US only or in the UK.
Don't talk to me about wonky wheels - I had to phone hubby up today to rescue us because I was that scared the wheel would fall off. I got it home, hubby removed it to look at it and it now won't fix back on. The wheel spoke that goes into the axle is very badly bent.

suzie38 · 16/08/2011 22:25

what wheel was that on Tiggy...I was going to call you Twinkle, just then!!!

MonkeysPunk · 16/08/2011 22:40

Yes, wheel on which buggy won't go back on?
The candy volo was sold both sides of the pond.
Kiddicare have a few for sale, I think Harrods had some too. They are designed by Ralph laurens daughter I think....or in conjunction with.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 16/08/2011 22:49

The Valco :( I took it out for it's first run today. I found it oddly heavy to steer but put it down to DD being over the front wheel. We only went 5 mins up the road to a shop. I then realised it was impossible to steer with one hand and hold a shopping basket and when I looked down the wheel was leaning at about 45 degrees from where it should have been. It took huge effort to get us safely outside the shop and I phoned hubby to rescue the children. I limped the Valco back home where hubby removed the wheel. The spindle is horribly bent and he can't now get the wheel to hold in place. very disappointing and annoying. Its going to cost me a small fortune to send three pushchairs back...grrr! Never again! Shoot me if I talk about buying second hand...
