This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

Would match my giraffe footmuff/liner!!!

suzie38 · 09/08/2011 21:57

yes, looks a better shape than the one i had.

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 21:59

How did the verso adapter make the phil and teds smart buggy recline pls? - you mean a carseat that was reclined? Or did you put the verso adaptor on then clip the buggy seat back on? Ds is 11kg currently and not all that big - he's not skinny - but not broad either. I'm not sure if he'll have a growth spurt soon - as he's pretty small compared to others his age - and fits better in 2-3y than 3-4y clothing.

If I got the smart buggy it would be occasional use for sure but I currently have 4 prams in the house (of which one I have decided to sell - and H hasn't really noticed 2 of them so far....and will probably have a right royal rant if he does notice them....which I will argue he ought to give up smoking...and he'll say but he gets enjoyment out of that...and I'll say 4 buggies is still cheaper than a car for the wife..... blah blah blah....)!!! I'd probably have to hide it in the shower (now the nipper is in the downstairs loo - and the Maclarens are at the side of ds's wardobe with a blanket draped over them (which apparently renders them invisible!)....

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:06

I am taking the kids out on the train tomorrow... possibly to Brighton - and I cannot decide which pram!!!
Probably not the vista = it didn't like the bridge at the first railway station we had to cross - although this is the ONLY bridge to cross on our journey - coming back we'll land on the correct platform to not need the bridge - and the vista has the biggest basket and comfiest seat for ds.....but if we go on the beach it just won't do it...Brighton beach is "pebbles pebbles pebbles for miles and miles and miles - a sloping bank of pebbles round all the British Isles"....
I'm not sure the Nipper can do pebbles either though....
Maybe I should take the Maclaren XLR - as it's hood is fab and it's managable footprint wise - and I can fold and carry while holding onto ds...and it has layback for naptime... but - it's the persian red/ penguin - so maybe my oioi bag won't look good in the basket beneath....and I can't be arsed to change bags....
I could take the new Maclaren Volo - but there's no layback at all - but it's uber light and could be folded - slung over my shoulder and carried onto the beach....although I'd have the changebag to carry too.....I could bring a didymos incase ds can't sleep in it....again - not sure the giraffe hobo sack in the back of this buggy is a good look.......???!!!!
Maybe I WILL have to change bags then......for the day!
I also need to carry a picnic for all of us......

How I wish I could drive!!! I've just had to move my test date again (still not ready - learning to drive at 40y old is not easy at all!!!).....test date is now October......!!!

suzie38 · 09/08/2011 22:11

I never had the Verso adapter myself...But i'm pretty sure it only works rear facing with the Smart seat unit and it won't sit fully upright facing that way, so the same as the Zapp Xtra...Never put a car seat on it...DD is 11.5kg and she'd still fit in if we had it still.

Tiggywunkle · 09/08/2011 22:11

Whoohooo re a test date. Good luck although October seems eeeoons away it's not really! I love reading about your pushchair hidey places lol. You want to take the Volo don't you? The Nipper I suspect would cope the best on the pebbles though. I love Brighton :) especially the shops! The Verso adaptors have a sort of frame which you fix on and it allows the seat to recline. I think....without looking it up..you have to remove them to fold though.

suzie38 · 09/08/2011 22:13

What's a Didymos???

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:23

Thanks for the info on the adapters - will look into that then...

Here is the ORIGINAL phil and teds smart buggy Wink

saoirse86 · 09/08/2011 22:27

I've done a really mini skim read just then so missed loads.

We didn't go and look today, we just felt like it's probably not the one and we'd regret it. I've also heard that much of the area was shut down due to rioters so glad we didn't bother!

Tiggy at worst re the powertwin, open a dispute. If you haven't come to an agreement after 4 days then you're likely to get your full amount back directly from ebay as it was damaged/misdescribed and they've admitted knowing about it. Then you also don't need to return it. HTH

suzie38 · 09/08/2011 22:29

Don't think it was a hit!!!

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:32

www.didymos.com/

Tiggywunkle · 09/08/2011 22:33

Thanks...I will try the washing up liquid now and then contemplate what to do....I am just a tad wary because in a recent dispute case they told my buyer to return the item for a refund...

saoirse86 · 09/08/2011 22:33

I nearly bought one of those smart buggies a while ago. I don't know how I was going to use it I just liked it!

Tiggywunkle · 09/08/2011 22:34

It was always odd to give them the same name. I can't see the video but the old Smart is useful for blind mums to pull children whilst holding onto their blind dog.

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:35

bugger! I still like the phil and teds smart buggy! Hmm

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:38

tiggy I know I shouldn't - but you just made me snigger! I know what you meant - but it just sounds like the dog is blind too...... Grin

Where's the cheapest place to find the smart buggy - and is it worth selling the XLR to get it? I think I need to try one first...perhaps Brighton has one in a pram shop....?

suzie38 · 09/08/2011 22:42

Mothercare sell them but no idea if in an actual shop though.

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:49

ok - I think the Phil and Teds smart buggy is v interesting - I'd definately like to play with one - but I don't actually want to own one... unless I win the lottery and have a dedicated "pram" room.....! It won't fold with the adaptors on and sounds horrid to push with a big kid in according to reviews - but it still looks lovely. Smile

aswellasyou · 09/08/2011 22:50

There's one in our local Babies R Us.
I feel like there was a question I was going to answer but I can't remember what it was.Hmm

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 22:52

I also think my kids might actually explode if I were to try and take them in a shop tomorrow (unless it sold icecream or hairclips!)....the day is about the outing not shopping - besides I am skint.....morethan....need to restart ebay in the fall to pay for the summers shopping sprees (too many trips to the Joules sales etc..).
I still don't know which one I'm taking tomorrow...will see what the weather is like and think. Train trip is over an hour! (although no changing trains at least).

MonkeysPunk · 09/08/2011 23:16

d'oh! I'd completely forgotten I have hamster bags for the maclarens.....!!! I can use a maclaren and stuff the hamster bags. Will choose in the morning! Grin

Tiggywunkle · 09/08/2011 23:45

I know what you mean Monkeys about the Smart - it looks great but I was put off it instantly when playing with it....my hands just felt so incredibly weird so near together and also low down in front of me!! Most odd!
I nearly bought some side bags the other day off Ebay....triangular shaped ones which tie on...but I didn't know whether I really needed them! I love the side pouches on the Twinner Twist Duo...they are soooooo handy for keys, purse, treats and more!
I am not sure there are any pram shops in the centre of Brighton...I had to drive out of town when buying a sling....

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 07:31

And overnight on the maclaren fb page they've bought out insulated panniers, only £15 each which can be left on when folding the buggy! Only charcoal though.
Come to think of it, I should have two gr8x panniers in black somewhere...

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 08:24

Bet they'd work on most buggies.
