😭

When I picture a nearly £2m house - this isn't it

Just to rub salt in the wound even further - what does £1.7m get you in your neck of the woods?

Wow! This one is stunning. Dread to think what running costs would be though!

Hi there, I live close to this and it is on a very desirable road according to the map position. It's also Winchmore Hill, not Enfield. I was originally shocked at the price until I realised where it was tbh. Given the cost of renovating now though it would be quite a project

OOIEO 1.6m

The next one in Oldham is 1.25M but much more remote but with more outbuildings and 11 acres

Excellent spot - super views and a great pub in the White Hart just down the road.

I find the thought of maintenance for such a large property quite exhausting! I'd have to be rich enough to buy it and pay for a team of gardeners and housekeepers in order to enjoy it at all. Otherwise it would end up falling down around my ears.

That is hideous

Startinganew32 · 15/11/2024 15:31

One of those is in the range of the OP’s but a bit cheaper and is in the most exclusive part of Stockholm. The other is about 170k or whatever the exchange rate is.

But it's still quite a busy, main road? And the plot looks smaller than its neighbours - looks like they previously built another house on the same plot (131 and 131A according to the satellite view)

Also, I can't see where the 6th bedroom is on the floor plan - think that must be a typo - as can only see five?

Every year I think prices are getting to unsustainable levels and every year they continue to increase further. It doesn't make sense. Who is keeping house prices propped up to this level? How many buyers out there can keep affording these ridiculous prices? Will there ever be a crash or are house price crashes consigned to history?!

East Norfolk - really you should move. The money you save would pay for a lot of season train tickets to commute!

£1 million 12 serviced apartments

£1.1 million 5 bedroom detached, sea views

£1.2 million 5 bed contemporary

£1.5 million 6 bedrooms, Victorian with stable block

6 Bedroom city centre, golden triangle postcode

I'm in the cheaper bit of Yorkshire, for 800,000 you could buy a Georgian house with 7 beds and 5 bathrooms. And an annexe. And a huge walled garrden.
