last time I sold, one solicitor in the chain didn't feel the need to tell anyone she'd completed her part, we were all waiting on her.

We've exchanged, I'm so relieved.

our letting agent is chasing us about whether we are renewing or not. we have another 2 weeks to tell them so they can go whistle…

My buyer has until Wednesday, this was too close to the wire for me.

As predicted my own exchange did not happen yesterday. Here's hoping that today is the day (finally).

Now had our searches back for house we are buying and all okay. My seller hasn't responded to our enquires yet. So we are slowly moving forward but still no idea how far away we are from possible dates

thank you. exchange didn't happen. our solicitors have made some errors and so we are now holding up the rest of the chain. so frustrating as I was told last week we were ready to go. feels like this is never ending

Horrendous, we had this when DP sold his house and they were supposed to exchange and complete the same day.

This may seem a silly question but how do I know if the bungalow we're buying has a water metre?

I've never had one so no idea what I'm looking for or where to look.

Ignore me, I messaged my water company and they've confirmed there is a metre and where it is.

Bungalow pretty sure I had to fill in the location of the meter on a form.

I have never found this stuff so overwhelming in the past, my brain is clearly at max capacity!

Congratulations @BungalowBuyer !!! You must be so relieved! We completed on our new house on Friday just gone and have now moved in and are surrounded by boxes. Unfortunately the owner is deceased and the property is being sold my her solicitors so we got very little information, in fact no questionnaire at all and no contents list.

Can I please join? I had an email from the solicitor today saying that the covenant we asked to be added to the property we're purchasing has been okayed by the vendor and "we shall prepare engrossments for execution". Does this mean it's all being done and finalised now? We're really hoping to get moved before the kids break up from school!
