Aside from the obvious use of filter there is a (posh) new build apartment near me like this, except it's almost worse as its reversed. So in it, the kitchen is in glossy red, and the floors throughout the house are marble but stained red and grey like a chess board. The owners could not understand why no one wanted to buy or rent the place. It'd cost a fortune to tone down, at least this one it's largely accessories.

userchange987 · 15/10/2021 12:27

Good grief, imagine having a beautiful house like that one and then decorating it like that 🙈 what on Earth were they thinking.

Cheeseontoastwithchopsauce · 15/10/2021 12:27

I knew the lady that had the purple house
Every
Room
Was
Purple

userchange987 · 15/10/2021 12:28

It's definitely a man's isn't it 😂😂

Noodlewave · 15/10/2021 12:29

So what if you don't like the red? I'm pretty sure when you buy the house the towels/duvet covers/soap dishes won't be included so you. Judge a house on price/location/size/condition etc, things that can't or are not easy to change, not on the owners styling taste or lack thereof Hmm

userchange987 · 15/10/2021 12:30

@Noodlewave to be fair a lot more needs to be done than remove a few bits of red tat, the grey is extremely overwhelming. It would cost a fortune to turn that house into a home.

2tired2bewitty · 15/10/2021 12:32

It looks like someone watched Schindler’s list and took home a completely different message to everyone else Confused

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 15/10/2021 12:32

Except for the clothes it seems completely stripped of anything personal.

Wonder if they had someone come in who liked red and stage it for the photos

It is absolutely grim and so depressing.
Would love to know what sort lives there

I think if it was a footballer there would be a bigger tv(s) and some football paraphernalia

HerRoyalNotness · 15/10/2021 12:32

Love that Grove Road house! Would only need to swap the dining to the room next to the kitchen and a few decorative tweaks and it’s perfect 😍

Inthemuckheap · 15/10/2021 12:33

It's just been dressed for sale by somebody who has zero taste then photoshopped to accent the red.

£3mio in Solihull? I've only been to the NEC and didn't think it was a very nice area....

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/10/2021 12:34

Someone needs to email the estate agents this thread

HaHa yes ! Grin
Though they might wonder about the surge of 'interest' on the RM site

Estate Agents - people want to view the house . Not the Agent ..

FreezerBird · 15/10/2021 12:34

It reminds me of that sequence in Schindler's List where it's all black and white apart from the little girl's red coat.

I'm almost certain that isn't what they want it to remind me of, but there we are.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 15/10/2021 12:35

What a cheerless joint that is.
I suppose they thought the red might add a spot of warmth in the otherwise endless sea of monochrome.
Reminds me of this without the humour!

Neves7 · 15/10/2021 12:35

Looks like an airport

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 15/10/2021 12:35

The agent has definitely used some sort of filter to bring out the red. That's really obvious in the picture of the balcony, the fences and the (tiny) bit of grass you can see are a totally different colour in the external shots

I think I'm correct that all the red was accessories/soft furnishings/furniture, so wouldn't be there if you bought it. But then you would end up with an entirely grey box, which to my mind is even worse (and I really hate the red with it). Honestly, these identikit grey mansions really spoil my fantasy house hunting - simultaneously utterly awful, but too extensive/nicely done to justify ripping it all out and start again.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 15/10/2021 12:36

Awful! Whoever did the interior needs sacking!

There’s no accounting for taste, though - I dare say someone will think an ocean of grey with ‘pops’* of red is exactly their thing.

*yes, I hate that word, too.

PenCreed · 15/10/2021 12:37

That is horrible. Either it has really low ceilings or everything is out of proportion to make it look like it does. That's before you even look at the decor and what you'd have to do to make it look like a home! It doesn't help that it looks like the photos were taken on a day when it was chucking it down, the grass looks water-logged in the balcony photo - just what everyone wants, to sit and look out over a bog...

NomoreSmiggle · 15/10/2021 12:37

@Inthemuckheap it’s a very expensive area Knowle/Dorridge B93 - stockbrokers belt (of the Midlands)

Shows you cant buy taste!

goneredforwinter · 15/10/2021 12:38

Reminds me of Schindler's list

Sportsnight · 15/10/2021 12:40

£3m? For that?!

I live in London and that still looks overpriced

AnnaSW1 · 15/10/2021 12:41

Single male footballer I reckon

CaptainHammer · 15/10/2021 12:42

That red 🤢
The bathroom feels like a massive waste of space too!

MumDad1958 · 15/10/2021 12:42

It's hilarious the comments being made about it looking like a serial killers house! I'm wondering how many serial killers these people know - are they your friends?!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 15/10/2021 12:43

@HellonHeels

That's pretty grim but what bothers me the most is the garden. No planting, not single tree, just a blank lawn. Depressing AF
Absolutely. Those huge picture windows looking out at... er... nothing.
