I know Stoke Newington in London is an expensive area but really!

I'm assuming it's currently rented out and the landlord doesn't want to miss out on a penny of his/her rent.

That house is minging. It makes me laugh that Stoke Newington is considered gentrified these days. The first home I ever owned was a flat in SN (in the eighties) just off SN high street. Mind you I did like the High Street and I loved Clissold Park.

I assume people are paying for the area! It’s maybe be a rented house going in the market?

@UndomesticatedHousewife

Paying for the area? Confused

What is so special about 'the area?'

And the house has not even got a bloody driveway. That would a dealbreaker for me for sure.

I think it might be a landlord looking to sell and possibly just taking pics when then tenants are out and unaware.
When we were looking to buy we were shown somewhere in a messy state. The tenant with her young son came back unaware a viewing was happening. Apparently the estate agent did this a lot and she threatened to call the police.
I would really hate this to be the case but it does happen.

@Shinccat I know I'm sad but my first thought when I saw the houses you posted was how much time it would take to hoover!

(Thread jack alert: what’s it called when you write something like ‘3 bedroom, cheaper, and much nicer area’ and it appears here in blue text and takes you straight to the link?)

A link. Two square brackets, hyperlink pasted in, space, 3 bedroom etc typed in, two closing square brackets.

Shithole. Probably needs a good clean and clearout then may look ok.

They are announcing to the world that the house has next to no storage. What a depressing looking place.

That there is why I will not live in London, how utterly depressing.

OP here. I went out to lunch and now so many messages.

I'm house hunting but not in Stoke Newington but this came up as it fitted some of my criteria.
Amazingly awful.

Yes it is depressing. But some of us are from london, work in london, have family in london, and dont want to move out of london, because, basically, we love london!

Pissed off tenant not happy about the sale by looks of it.

We live nearby, and even I raised my eyebrows very slightly at the price. But then I saw how close it was to William Patton and I understood. It's a very sought-after school with a tiny catchment, so I imagine folks would pay over-the-odds for to be 0.1 miles away!
Otherwise, it's a standard layout and size for houses of that type in the area, and would be fine without all the current residents crap in it. The naff cladding would put me off though.
