Help! I hid my daughter's switch and now I'm in trouble!

So the story goes like this:
My pre-teen daughter was being naughty, didn't do as she was told (nicely), chatted back in a super-cheeky way, rolled her eyes, lied and then didn't do as she was told again. So I got very cross and took her Switch... And hid it somewhere in the house, told her she will get it back when her behaviour improves.
Fast forward a few weeks... I cannot find the bloody thing... I took apart the whole house... left no thing unturned. It's just gone. It's so strange. I usually remember where I put things. This time, it's like I have a black hole, it's like someone erased the memory of me hiding it. It's like I have an amnesia to this specific moment in time when I was hiding it. I know I hid it but I don't know where.
Since it was also my husband's Switch I am now having to buy him a new one... If I can't find it (deadline set to a week).

Any ideas of how to retrieve this memory please? Any strategies for finding lost subjects? I don't want to buy a new one, it's expensive!

Maybe it’s hiding with my letter from the CMS.. the one I wrote all the passwords on so I can log in online 🙄
Can you remember what you were wearing that day? Or any handbags / shopping bags you might have used? Otherwise I sometimes hide stuff in my underwear drawer for safe keeping..

@ThatWardrobe - near green paper. Crepe paper or maybe tracing paper? Very thin, see thru. Does that help?

@Phepho you are probably getting somewhat overloaded now but juuuuust in case this one resonates with you... any idea where I have hidden three rather elaborate coat hooks?! Gold fixtures, one with black and white stripes and a couple with blue and white stripes. I bought them ages ago and meant to put them on the back of doors for dressing gowns etc., and can't for the life of me find them anywhere. It has made me really cross because they were quite expensive so I haven't bought replacements on principle as I KNOW they're here somewhere.

I’ve only just discovered that I have aphantasia, Phepho. I now feel that I’ve been missing out all my life! It must be lovely for people to be able to visualise things in their heads.

Perhaps your daughter found it and took it back.

@phepbo In my early 20s, I bought a beautiful light blue stone in a silver necklace with the money my beloved granny left me in her will. I chose it as I knew she would have liked it herself. I’ve not been able to find it for years and am heartbroken :( if you have any ideas, I would be so grateful xx

A friend lost her diamond wedding ring, she searched everywhere, retraced her steps etc yet nothing.
I then retraced her steps with her, asking her to explain what she was doing at each stage..... she suddenly said "then I took my wedding ring off and put it here...." as she reached to point, there it was. Sometimes panic, tiredness, stress, noise etc blinds you to something right in front of you.

My ex husband hid away an expensive watch for “safe keeping” and couldn’t find it so I bought him a new one.
A few years later it was found in a pair of dress shoes.

Nicely hidden.

I lost a diamond ring I loved, I was really upset. Months later I bought a new one from porn shop. Week later I found it hanging on an ornament (boy standing near tree) was hooked on tree. I must have put it there to apply hand cream. Really need to up my dusting regime 🤣

Please help me with my dad’s car keys disappeared when he passed 1 year ago. I’ve never found them!

Behind books in a bookcase, in the back of the linen cupboard, under the ironing pile, tucked into a folded jumper or other item of clothing in your wardrobe, in one of your little used handbags. In your car maybe? Alternatively buy a new one and then you'll find the one that's lost

You were looking for lost passports- all I'm getting when I think of them is black A4 ring binder and fallen.
