Medical abortion fear

I took my first tablet yesterday and due to take my next lot tomorrow. I’m so scared, I’ve read so many posts and terrified myself into their being issues or it not working.
im 5 weeks. I’m a nurse so I feel like I’m very aware of the medical side and what can go wrong :(

Yeah so I had 4 vaginally 2 orally - then 36 hours later - 4 orally 2 orally

@Jackster22 Oh I’m sorry to hear you didn’t have a good experience with the hospital, makes it worse when you work there! 😳 I think we were lucky with BPAS as I did read on here that some people were having to wait 2 weeks for a telephone appointment. Every day counts with something like this doesn’t it 😕 Regarding the pills, I was told by BPAS that you must take the last 2 (so 6 in total the day after the single tablet) as it’s what will make sure you pass any remaining tissue. Apparently they only used to give you 4 but then realised it wasn’t enough… 🤷🏻‍♀️

i know and no one at work knows so that would have been awkward if anyone had seen me go into the maternity department. We were Definitely lucky, I can’t imagine having to wait all that time, must be awful, yes I read that about only the four but BPAS must have their own procedure as defo said to go to stage 3, I wanted to insert the final 2 vaginally but had already started bleeding 😕

I originally tried to get an appointment with BPAS. But I wasn’t eligible! Im glad really as I know I would have had to wait longer than I did…. I phoned my local hospital clinic Monday and picked the medication up the next day, the nurse was so lovely and made me feel so at ease x

@Jackster22 Yes it would have been awkward for you 😳 Yes they must have as she said I must take them. I know the information seems to differ with all the different agencies 😳 It’s hard to know what to do for the best sometimes isn’t it! 😕 @Zozo22 Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. I have more pains and bleeding than yesterday, think it’s because I have been into town and done general house things.

Hi @brownbeauty80 and @Jackster22 not sure how I’m feeling emotionally today, a bit up and down and a little empty, but physically I’m surprisingly okay…. Since yesterday my nausea and morning sickness have disappeared my breasts are less sore than they have been and my bleeding is just like my usual period….no cramps at all today either and I have been pretty busy today out and about and walking loads….

so happy that physically your better and a tad jealous of the boobs feeling better, mine still sore lol. I was so emotional up until taking the tablets since then I have been fine, sorry to hear you have been up and down emotionally hopefully that will pass soon xx

I'm doing good
Just want the light bleeding to stop so I don't have to wear pads n liners... it's getting irritating on my skin now and more so as the weather is warm too...

@brownbeauty80 sorry for the questions…… How many days after are you now ? I am day 5 days from first pill and 4 days after the 4 then 2 pills and I’m still cramping and bleeding tiny clots and tissues - when did you stop bleeding and it turned lighter: I’m sorry you having irritations hopefully will be finished soon and you won’t have to wear pads/liners. I haven’t gone into work today as these cramps are hurting just took some more ibuprofen, My older children keep asking what’s up with me 🤦🏻‍♀️

I took the first pill last Monday at 5pm
I took the 4 pills last Tuesday 5pm
I was supposed to take the second set of 2 pills on Tuesday at 8pm but I was already cramping and bleeding by 6pm(hour after 4 pills) so I didn't bother..
So basically this time last week I was pregnant
Bleeding has decreased a lot
No clots since last night but since Friday they were only visible when I wiped not actually on the pad..
Boobs don't hurt anymore...
Feeling altogether lighter and brighter
Sometimes I get the odd pang of guilt but then I see my 19 n 16 yr olds n I think to myself no way could I do all that again...

Aww thank you @brownbeauty80. I did actually ring the clinic to ask if should still be cramping and have abdominal pain and she said to give it a few more days; some people just take longer and because I have had two c sections I probably have scar tissue and it’s just my uterus working. I know what you mean about guilt, we’re very similar I have a 20 year old and a 16 year old; they keep asking what’s up as I’m never really home lol I just say lady issues and they don’t want to know anymore 😂😂. I know exactly what you mean about doing it all over again. Hope everyone else is ok too xx

Yh mine (son 19 daughter 16) were hovering around me when I was cramping coz they don't really see me sat down with a hot water bottle and to make it even more suspicious my husband was pampering me through it too.. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️
I'd already cooked and cleaned and set the table to make their life easier while I was bad on Tuesday afternoon/evening and the kids were like 'isn't mum super efficient today'
I was thinking Yh mums overies n uterus r super efficient too.. 🙈🙈🙄🤷🏽‍♀️

@brownbeauty80 I was told to take the last two pills regardless if things had started or not as your less likely to retain any products afterwards…. And I was also told to wait 36 hours before inserting the four tablets as this was the optimum time for it to work…. I find it strange how different clinics give different advice…. Hope you both pick up a bit soon xx

@brownbeauty80 ha ha ha that’s funny 😆 , I did the same sorted tea out and warned them I would be out of mum, wife, dogs body duties for a day or two. I have two boys, one at uni and the other just doing his GCSE’s. @Zozo22 hope your ok, i was told 24-48 hours to start with the four tablets and to still take the final 2 tablets regardless, I was with BPAS xx

Hey everyone. I’m feeling much brighter the past day or two too. I took a pregnancy test today - a normal one not the termination one yet just to see if the line had weakened any (8 days post Misoprostol) and it’s barely visible anymore. Sighing a relief xxx

Maybe it also depends on how many weeks we were as to how ma g pills we need to take...
A friend went through this a few years ago and she was only given the first pill and then the 4 pills..

Atleast it's all coming to an end for us soon..

@brownbeauty80 i know I took a pregnancy test litterally 5 mins before the first tablet with the plan to do this - I was fully expecting to still see a line since it’s still early didn’t expect it to be as weak as it was which was nice as I had the double dose for the fear of it not working and not an ounce of pain. Feeling lucky my experience wasn’t too bad

That is a great idea, I just bought a two pack of the digital ones - I think I will wait until the three weeks though with the one I was sent as it will just be another thing I will worry about especially if it’s still positive, 🤦🏻‍♀️ @Gkrr10 glad your feeling brighter xx

Yeah definitely not taking the termination one before the 3 weeks mark as instructed but it def helped me to do a wee mid way test. Not for everyone though! Xx

@brownbeauty80 maybe a few years ago things were different, and it could be down to how far along you are….there’s a good reason they supply those extra two pills…. So they are definitely worth taking regardless in my opinion! I’m happy that your feeling lighter and brighter about it all now x

@Zozo22 really pleased your feeling better, it really is a weird time. I’m going to go to work tomorrow and hopefully in the next few days will just get nearer to normal xx
