Medical abortion fear

I took my first tablet yesterday and due to take my next lot tomorrow. I’m so scared, I’ve read so many posts and terrified myself into their being issues or it not working.
im 5 weeks. I’m a nurse so I feel like I’m very aware of the medical side and what can go wrong :(

I've had two. One worked fine, the other didn't and I haemorrhaged after a month of constant bleeding.

I'm sure you will be fine, but if you continue to have prolonged don't let them fob you off and tell you it's normal. I knew it wasn't.

I am in the exact same position. Taking my second lot later today. Very scared. PM me if you like and we can get through together x

I Googled the size of the fetus/embryo..
Not even a centimetre yet...
i just want to get Monday and Wednesday over with asap and get back to normal...

I had a mmc and had medical management when the foetus was 6 weeks.
It was honestly very straightforward.
I took the prescribed pain relief before any pain, had mild period cramps and it was all over in a few hours.

I’m in the same position too, I’m 6+2. Took my first pill yesterday at midday and started bleeding and getting cramps an hour ago, when I went to take the next 4 tablets. Am absolutely terrified that I’m going to haemorrhage! 😭 Hope you’re both doing OK @Gkrr10 and @tennyhome 💐

I’m so deflated. First 4 Misoprostol at 11 - final 2 an hour ago - no pain, tiniest bit of blood upon wiping.
I just wish something would happen. Feel like I’m destined to be pregnant forever

Sending my best wishes @Gkrr10 fingers crossed it will all start moving soon. I’ve just put my four tablets in and I’m lying here scared to move

Sorry @Gkrr10 I hope things start moving for you soon. I’m not sure what think as I started bleeding and cramping before putting in the 4 tablets! 😭

God I wish I knew if this was all normal or not. I’m a nurse and it’s difficult for the medical side of me not to take over.
I started bleeding around 7.30/8pm, still nothing drastic. My pads are still pretty much clear - but when I go to the toilet there is stuff that comes away - I’d say to the same amount as a normal period - not sure if it just taking the gravity to help. I’ve no pain at all - but I don’t get any pain with periods either. I don’t know if it’s enough to say if it’s working or not :(

@Gkrr10 I’ve been the same, haven’t had huge amounts of bleeding either. Not passed any big clots like I was told I would, although have had painful cramping for most of the day? Didn’t bleed much overnight at all. It’s just like a normal period for me! I’m wondering the same thing too…

I got back In touch with the hospital and they said I should have had. A clot at least the size of a 10p - I said I haven’t (that I have noticed) so I had to go back in and pick up more Misoprostol and do it again - taking the lot of 4 just now again :(

Wishing you the best of luck. I wrote about my experience back in November. I had a lot of pain for about an hour and then after a sleep, I needed the loo and felt something come out. (My husband checked and said it had come out). I needed two days to rest after that and the bleeding stopped after about a week. Fingers crossed it works out for you!

ive Started bleeding now with some small clots - probably between 5/10p size. Still no pain - I’m wondering if I’m just not a crampy kind of person. Still hope it’s working

I just want to put my story out there to lessen the worry for some
of you maybe in a situation the same
I had a medical abortion the beginning of April
I rang BPAS who were very informative and supportive, went through everything they needed to with me, I opted for the medical route and took the abortion pills by post.

i think I was around 5 weeks pregnant dating from my last period but I never had a scan to be exact. I took the first lot of tablets and then the second lot a day or so later.

i stayed in bed the whole day just out of fear of what was to come.
started with mild cramp around 4 hours later like a throbbing dull period pain, I got up to go to the loo and that’s when I started bleeding , everything had passed quite quickly, taking codeine helped massively also. I bled for around 4 days after that. Nothing massively heavy and had stomach pain but nothing I couldn’t cope with.

fast forward 5 weeks I got my period back which had come on pretty heavy and thick which I was told would happen, passed small clots also I was on for around 8 days

i then got another period a 24 days later which lasted 4 days again heavy and quite thick with a few blobby bits.

the problems I did have though was my pregnancy tests were positive for a good 8 weeks which caused concern calling Bpas for advice I got an appointment for a blood test for my hcg levels. My first result came back at 11 and then 2 days later 7 so im
pretty sure I’m out the dark with it now and seeing some light ahead, I have just got my first negative test a week or so ago and now hoping to Ttc I’m not sure if my periods will carry on being quite heavy and thick but these things take time to work them selves out, anyone else had or has similar story at all?

my abortion was surprisingly ok. I was 5 weeks and had zero pain.
just the waiting game now to see if it worked - I thought I’ feel better by now but I think until o see a negative test I won’t be able to relax cx

That’s what I’m most afraid of! My mistake has been reading all the awful horror stories online x

I had tablet one on Monday evening
Then the 4 tablets on Tuesday evening..
Started with cramps late evening but nothing we can't manage...
Wednesday was a bit painful so I was just lying down with hot water bottle...
Thursday I went to work and I think being upright and walking lots started the bleeding ..
Thursday and today heavy bleeding with clots but not big clots..
going to put on a waist trainer on the loosest fitting tomorrow to help empty uterus...
Do not worry....
U will handle it...

I know I’ll cope with whatever is thrown at me the next few days, it’s just nice to hear some real not so horrific stories, it gives me a little bit of comfort being able to chat to people in the same situation as myself…. @Zozo22 I was in your position a week ago. Took the first tablet on the Friday, was in a real anxious state by the time I had to take the next 4 (I started bleeding literally as I went to take them). I too was terrified I would end up in hospital from haemorrhaging! 😬 In the end it was absolutely fine and very manageable (I was just 6 weeks too). The cramps were quite strong (so I was glad I took the codeine as well as some ibuprofen) but nothing that I couldn’t deal with (also used a hot water bottle which definitely helped). Didn’t bleed anywhere near as much as I thought I would. The bleeding increased 2 days after the last pills. It’s now been 7 days since I took the first pill and the bleeding has subsided to just a brown smear in my pad. I’ll now just be worrying about whether it’s worked or not for the next 2 weeks until I can take the test BPAS sent me (the only symptom I had was sore boobs, which I know is the last one to disappear although they do feel like they’re getting back to normal now which I hope is a good sign). I’m sure you’ll be fine, just steer away from the horror stories (I didn’t read any and I still got myself all worked up over it, which is only natural). 💐

I’m so happy that your experience wasn’t too bad, this gives me hope xx

@Zozo22 Hi, I know how you feel, I shouldn’t have read the horror stories either but I did a lot for four days whilst waiting for my medication to arrive, I took the first pill Thursday morning and then I inserted four yesterday morning followed by 2 orally as I had started to bleed, it was not as bad as I had imagined but I won’t lie did have a couple of hours of intense cramping, stupidly didn’t take any ibuprofen until tea time, I haven’t passed many clots I don’t think, seen a couple that’s all, there is more blood in toilet than on pads, took some more pain killers and managed a good sleep and have woke up this morning fine just slight cramps but bleeding already slowed down. Hope it all goes well for you 💐
