ladybee and red well done on goodscans. Ladybee - try not to worry - will they give you another scan before 12 weeks if you want one for reassurance?

OP posts:
Muser · 03/07/2010 10:42

Oooh, new thread. Hello new thread. I have my 'rule out ectopic' scan on Monday morning. I am absolutely bricking it. I'm not expecting another ectopic, but I worry about miscarriage. Trying to keep busy over the weekend so I don't think about it.

Hope you're all doing ok and enjoying the weekend.

Unbuffy · 03/07/2010 11:36

Hallo ladies

Hope all is well out there in RollerCoasterLand! Basically good news RHG and LadyB, although hard won and confusing. fx all round - no wonder it's hard to type (that and toodler buttonpushing at every possible opportunity!)

Good luck Muse, thinking of you over the weekend, the wait is almost worse than the actual thing.

Hi to all Nooobies, welcome and strap yourselves in for a bumpy one...

Like the shiny new thread, laaavly daycoor, did you book Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen or somefing? Especially like the cheerful mural on the far wall and the big fruit basket (or is that a mirror?) over there.

Been a funny old week, a lot of ups and downs and some funny depressed patches - must be those damned hormones again.

Have a great weekend all, will try to catch up soon - but then life's going to get mad in the next coupla weeks around here: obstetrician monday, scan 13th, puppies due 15th and teenage visitor (possibly) over the whole fortnight. Oh and I really must thnk about starting potty training soon...

eeek, will try not to make a mess over the new walls!

Redheadgal · 03/07/2010 12:36

Ooh sparkly new thread. How nice!

More bleeding this morning. More panicking. Spoke to a midwife who told me to go straight to A&E. Then spoke to someone at the EPU (who told me at 13+2 I'm three days over their 12+6 cut off) who put me through to someone else. Had another midwife call me back who said that even if I came in they couldn't necessarily see the reason for the bleed and unless I get a lot of bleeding I shouldn't worry. Apparently she wasn't happy using a doppler as the hb isn't easy to find at 13 weeks and that would be more worrying. I should just be reassured by my scan yesterday which showed no problems at all. So I'm not worrying. Not at all, not even a little bit. No worry here. Absolutely zilch, zero, nada.

The bleeding has now stopped anyway or at least is stopping (it's like the end of a period now). My DSD is here so we're all not worrying. Went punting instead

Anyway sorry for the self-obessessed post. I'm going to sit in the corner for a while and worry think positive thoughts.

Redheadgal · 03/07/2010 12:55

p.s. ought to have read the end of the old thread first. Thanks Meita, happy and LadyB for your kind thoughts. Gosh it's a tough ride this post-mc rollercoaster. I have white knuckles.

jocesar · 03/07/2010 15:02

Hello, can I join in.Have 1 DS 2yo. Had a MMC in January and am now 5+4. Am trying not to get excited or plan anything at all- it's a massively worrying time. At the moment I'm depressed because I haven't any morning sickness, but I do have a strange dry mouth which I'm taking as a positive sign. Once you've had 1 MC is it still possible to chill out after you get to 12 wks or does it end up 9 months of worry?

Lotta123 · 03/07/2010 15:25

Can I join too please? I'm 8 weeks today. Had a scan where we saw a heartbeat yesterday.

Had a MMC with my first pregnancy in April at 9+3weeks and doctors thought I miscarried at 6 weeks. We saw a heartbeat around 6 weeks before the miscarriage.

Worried about miscarriage and having bad morning sickness but trying to pass the time by reading good novels.

WestYorkshireGirl · 03/07/2010 17:43

Thanks Clare for new thread. RGH Sorry to hear about the bleeding, but at least if the hospital aren't calling you in, that sounds positive. I hope it all settles down.

Welcome to jocesar and Lotta.

Well I tried looking for some maternity or bigger sized trousers today which was a disaster. Only Dorothy Perkins had anything and then very little in petite so managed one pair of trousers. Unfortunately our Next doesn't stock the maternity range so that was it. Have seen a few things on Ebay, but there seems to be so many different of bump coverings it's a bit confusing! I also tried to get a few new bras in M&S and went for a fitting which was a disaster - only had one in my size and it's not er very glam. Overall, came back feeling fat and depressed and moaned at DH!

The other problem is that I am back to not sleeping well again (had this at the start) - last night I woke up at 2.30am and that was it having got off about 11pm. When I wake up it's not necessarily for a wee, but I just wake up and then I suddenly get really hungry and sick and that makes it impossible to get back to sleep. I have a snack before bed, but it seems I can't get through the night without food. This eating things seems to be getting out of hand and now I'm worried about my largesse at only 11 weeks.

I'm sorry for moaning on, - it's probably just been a bad day with the sleep, bra and clothes incidents....

clareanna · 03/07/2010 18:11

wyg as I've spent all day with my trousers undone and had to remove bra too i can totally sympathise!!! Urgh feel totally fat and knackered today. Worse still we're going out tonight to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary so I need to work out what to wear, how to stay awake, and remember how to have sparkling conversation!

redhead the bleeding is totally rubbish - so sorry you're going through this. Glad it's stopping now, take care x

lotta and jocesar welcome to the thread- and congratulations on your pgs

BunnyBaby · 03/07/2010 19:09

reb01 so sorry and lots of love to your precious angel.

rhg really awful you've had more bleeding, glad it has settled. I was told EPU up to 12 weeks then go to casualty and they should find an obstretician who can scan. If not happy go tocasualty they should have expertise to have a look. I am sure all is well and if I was in the same position I'd be just as worried.

muser good luck with scan

me, just battling heartburn and still feel sick but a bit more energy now. Bought some more nice mat clothes today. Can feel 'baby bubbles' wiggling although only became aware with DS1 at 17 weeks.

Should be exchanging contracts and moving by the end of the month which will be a relief ds1 also got place in nursery of choice so more peace of mind.

Anyone else hating the heat and not being able to sleep?

BunnyBaby · 03/07/2010 19:11

Sorry got the above post muddled with the Jan11 thread and one of the girls had bad news, in case your wondering about first name - baby brain eh?

toomuchteaching · 04/07/2010 14:50

Hello all... oooh a spangly new thread, v exciting.

So... had my scan yesterday and honestly it was the best thing that's ever happened to me. Lots of dancing from the bambino and it looked like an actual baby rather than the creepy alien we saw at 8+3 (of course I loved the creepy alien too!). Am officially excited now! As are the family who we've finally told.

rhg hope you're ok and that things have settled... keeping fingers crossed for you.
muser hope the waiting is going ok and you're keeping busy.
unbuffy sorry for the ups and downs, hope despite the busyness it's a more settled week for you.
And welcome jocesar and lotta, hope it's a smooth ride for you.

They redated me at the scan so I'll post the list. Have a lovely day everyone.

annie51 · 04/07/2010 15:53

Hi
Can I join?
I'm 6.4 weeks and have had mc1,dd1,dd2 then mc2 to mc7, so terrified no exitement just fear. Have previously gone down the clomid and asprin route twice and been monitored and scaned every 10 days to 2 weeks but this time I want to try to keep things as "normal" as possible no early scans unless I start spotting and cramping.

Gi1da · 04/07/2010 16:53

Welcome Annie, blimey sounds like you've been through the wringer - wishing you an extremely uneventful pregnancy this time around.

Welcomes also to Lotta and Jocesar.

Toomt wonderful news for you. Glad to hear you're not incubating a little Martian after all!

Redders gosh how stressful! No more bleeding please. Thanking you. So relieved to hear that apart from the white knuckle ride everything went well.

LadyBee Sorry the dating brought some worries for you. I think you were just on cycle 1 when you got diffed? Your cycle might still have been getting back to normal plus added factor of early measurements, I would try not to worry and focus on the heartbeat. Happy had a similar thing with the date going back, but there she is all blooming away up the list ahead of us.

Muser good luck for tomorrow, nearly there now. Fx for you.

Buffy sorry the hormones are getting to you, its a rum old time isn't it. VERY exciting about the puppies though. How many might there be? Were you keeping one, or was your mum having one did you say?

Waves to Alba glad all's well.

WestY and Clarea I am definitely not the same shape as before (don't have scales - the weighy ones, definitely no fishy ones - so don't know if I've put weight on, I assume so as I feel bigger), so am blaming it on bean pushing everything else out of the way. Been living in Gap maternity leggings under dresses instead of jeans.

Meita sounds like pretty pants parent education if they can't fit it in before the kid's in nursery! How are all your home preparations coming along?

Moof thinking of you this weekend.

No news in Gildaland - just hot hot hot. Oh, we had a visit from a REALLY cute little tabby kitten yesterday and today. It was adventuring through the back gardens, neither of my next-door neighbours know where it's come from. It's not neutered (a boy) and isn't wearing a collar. Looks healthy but was really hungry. Do you think it might be a stray I could encourage to come and stay or most likely a lost pet - just thought it was weird it had no collar. Sheesh - how broody am I? I'm one step away from katnapping!

Redheadgal · 04/07/2010 18:57

A quick update. Yet more bleeding so this morning we decided to head to A&E. Had to wait for 3.5 hours before the obs/gynae consultant came to see me. Had to drag DSD along too (not a brill Sunday for her) but we had Harry Potter to shorten the wait. Had internal exam and phew cervix is closed. Baby is nice and snug up there (although without a scan couldn't confirm, but as I only had good scan on Friday, I'm loudly optimistic). They think the bleeding is from a friable cervix - small cells which bleed for no reason. So all in all good news!! The nice consultant is going to get me another scan as she thought waiting until 20 weeks was too long

BunnyBaby · 04/07/2010 19:07

Great news Rhg how lovely to be able to relax and enjoy the afternoon tea!

I posted a rant in the' am I being unreasonable' about a huge cafe giardino which had no loos. As a result ds1 wee'd on me en route to toilets. Not good and really humiliating for him.

Having a BBQ and hoping for rain later (post BBQ) as garden so parched, though although cloudy, the forecast is clear.

SamanthaB123 · 04/07/2010 19:18

Quick post from phone. Have virus on laptop and can't use it at all. Am reading all posts but can't join in. All well here though, SB x

AlbaDeTamble · 04/07/2010 19:32

Evening all... thanks for the thread Clareanna, will make me chuckle for some time seeing the OP at the top of each page saying my wish is your command... like my own personal fairy godmother, trying to think up a few more good wishes . Hope you're doing ok with the early weeks rollercoaster, and that you found something to wear out for dinner in the end! Hope it was a good one.

Digging and Muser, very best of luck for tomorrow, hope you both sleep tonight. And that you get great news.

Toomuchteaching good news on another good scan

redheadgal good to hear that you got some reassurance and a kind consultant booking another scan for you, though I can't begin to imagine the worry of having to have a trip to A&E.

Unbuffy - when are you going to slow down and have a rest?!

Welcome to Annie, Lotta and Jocesar, as others have said, you've found a great place for some support through this rollercoaster.

Meita sounds a pain about the antenatal classes, though I'm surprised you get any, they'd abolished them round here even before I had DS 3 years ago. The choice was NCT, read a few books, or nothing... a quick 'how to look after a baby' briefing on the post natal ward was all we got!

Hellos to Gilda, WYG, Boodle, Sparkly, Bunny, Malteser (how are those night shifts going?), Lucky and everyone else, and of course all those newly upduffed ladies who are here but pretending not to be... you're going through some really tough weeks, hand holding you all

As for me... what a weekend, a dozen 12 year old girls for a pool party and sleepover camping in the garden.... just the idea of it made me tired, thankfully the reality was actually not so bad, they were all wonderfully polite and very helpful so we weren't left with the carnage afterwards I'd expected (I started the morning with 'here's breakfast, then you lot clear everything up, get the tents down, gather all your things then you can go for a swim', worked wonders and they all had a lovely time). Though of course DSD has been grouchy and overtired all day -- but only to be expected!

BIL, SIL and family for lunch, which was lovely, but I had to slope of for a nap mid-afternoon.

Here's to a relaxing week for all (crosses fingers and hopes for the best)

Muser · 04/07/2010 20:44

That's wonderful news rhg, so glad to hear things are looking ok.

LadyBee · 04/07/2010 21:57

Hi ladies, I wrote a good long post yesterday and then lost it, was too depressed to start again so went to bed instead

thanks for the positive thoughts and reassuring words. I've spent some time doing more research and discovered the variability ranges for dating scans at this stage run to +/- 3-5 days. Even assuming the measurement was accurate, the upper end of that puts me closer to a feasible date, so I'm allowing myself to knicker check only when I need to pee instead of at every twinge relax a bit. I needed to rationalise it I think, to stop myself from dwelling on it as a reason for impending doom. I'm now in two minds about whether to go for another scan. Will wait and see how the next week feels.

Muser I hope you're hanging in there lady, fingers crossed you get a good result tomorrow.

RHG so sorry to hear you had more bleeding, that must have been so stressful. But good news that the internal exam showed you're not dilating. Looks like you might be in for a bumpy ride.

alba you sound like a brilliant party host. Can we hire you?

Welcome to Annie, Lotta and Jocesar as well - I hope you find the support you need to get through this. Good lord though Annie, hats off to you for attempting to take a more 'normal' approach to all this after your experiences. Finally Digging I hope it all goes smoothly for you tomorrow - best of luck!

Right, DH is tidying up in the kitchen so I'd better get up and do the same in the lounge or I'll get martyred 'do I have to do everything' looks.

clareanna · 04/07/2010 22:40

rhg I have a friable cervix too- they are very pesky. With ds I bled at 6 and 9 weeks. Mmc I had no bleeding at all really pleased you got some reassurance today and that all is looking good.

ladybee is there any way you ov'ed later than you thought on the WTF cycle?

gi1da good lick with the catnapping

alba well done for surviving the weekend!

well, I've got a big work interview tomorrow and have managed to turn my hair green by swimmng in a pool with too much chlorine in - great first impression...!!!

OP posts:
LadyBee · 04/07/2010 23:30

Yeah, I was on cycle 1, not wtf, but there was a bit of discrepancy between what my CBFM said, and what FertilityFriend said from my temps. Only about 3 days in it, but if I go with the range suggested for 6mm (from 5+6 to 7 weeks) that puts me right on target if I take the top end of the range. I know, it's reaching a bit, but hey, it's just so I can get some sleep and accept that disaster Might Not be around the corner.
I know I'm not out of the woods, but at least this way I feel calmer and less panicky.
I'm going to change my date I think - I know it's all moot until a proper dating scan later, but it'll be simpler for now.
