Hi Cheepz lovely to see you, I can't wait til you join us again and stick around - you are missed.
Unbuffy - that sounds like a lot of squeaky chaos. Ooooh squirmy puppies, how gorgeous Well done on a successful scan.
Sarahmia great to have a reassuring scan, I hope next week's one is equally positive.
Goodluckbear, aw shucks , ta. Good on you for staying zen about the property chain, I don't envy you that. I sincerely hope I never have to move, the whole thing is just a huge pain.
Wasn't it a relief to have that cooler night BunnyBaby, it was lovely waking up for my 2nd pee of the night to hear the rain. I had heard that hair was associated with bad heartburn, hadn't heard of the sickness one before. DS was born with a decent covering and I did suffer heartburn almost immediately. Actually that's another thing that's different - no burping this time around
Wow, Clareanna congratulations on the assessment, sounds like you completely aced it. Am still intrigued by all that, it sounds soooo different to what goes on at my work
Oh yes, and Yay! for your good scan too. That reminds me, must chase to see if my referral has gone through - am jealous you being able to book an appt directly?
Gi1da we found the sex for DS, I was desperate for as much information as possible - plus it seemed like such a long time not to know and I was expecting the birth to be surprising enough (it was!) We won't this time around though. Don't want to do everything the same and if I end up with another c-section, I want to have something 'unknown' IYSWIM.
It doesn't necessarily have to be NCT, but I do think some kind of antenatal class is a good idea, partly for the opportunity to ask questions/reinforce knowledge and partly for the social introductions. We went to a course run by an independent midwife which was great. Am still in touch with the people on it, babysit for each other, went through lots together. I had some friends doing the baby-thing around the same time, but typically for London we were based on opposite sides on the city, which made it tricky sometimes just meeting for coffee and a chat. Local friends are important I think.
Yes, degrees in elementary motion are required. Best thing to do - get you DH to research, come up with a few choices, then go visit the ladies in the pram shed and get their (extremely experienced) view. They've bought and tried pretty much everything between them and will have an opinion .
So far, pretty much everyone I know gets a pram-type thing for the first six months and then an umbrella-type thing for when they get older. We borrowed the big one, bought the other(s) on ebay.
Annie - it varies from trust to trust, but I think the first scan, dating and nuchal translucency (if offered/wanted) is usually between 11-13 weeks, and the anomaly scan is usually between 18-21 weeks.
Welcome Ceec, I hope you feel happy here - good to have a supporting 'room' to come to when you need it.
Right, it's late, and it's my day at home with DS tomorrow with carpet fitters arriving sometime, so I'd better head to bed. Got to try to get some advice about immunisations - not sure whether I'll be able to do that trip to India or not, may need to tell my boss a little earlier than planned. Need to have a think about all that...hmmmmmm.
