Hi everyone!

Well, I got my BFP on Friday morning and it is only just starting to sink in! According to my dates I am due 2nd Feb and I thought it would be nice to have a Feb babies thread, where we can all share our news/worries/excitement!

Cant wait to hear from you

If they've got good equipment then they shouldn't need to do a transvaginal u/s; at 8 weeks last time the FMC did an abdominal u/s on me and got very clear pictures.

milliemoocow · 25/06/2010 14:12

hi i am also expecting in feb 2011!!! so hope u dont mind me jumping into your group at such a late stage?! i was wondering have any of you got no symptoms apart from missed period? i feel fine no nausea tiredness breast tenderness ect... ive had pregnancy confirmed by doc so deffo pregnant but i cant understand why i have no symptoms? did with my other children mmmm...

TallulahBelly14 · 25/06/2010 17:40

Welcome milliemoocow, and congratulations! That sounds like a blessing - I'd be ecstatic if I were you, it sounds like you're just lucky. I'm pretty light on symptoms too apart from some tiredness and sore boobs, so I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping the nausea doesn't kick in later.

Grannyapple · 25/06/2010 17:56

Hi folks-been away for a week ( had to rush home to Scotland as father in law passed away)-quite sad really, but we managed to tell him before he passed away-really emotional.

Anyway there's been loads to catch up on!! tabby-how did the scan go? Hope all is ok??

So sorry to read the sad posts of a few leavers of the thread. Hugs all round & I really hope we get to see u on the next couple of month's threads xx.

I've just received an appt thru for scan-23/07, so will be just over 10 weeks then. Perhaps it will all feel a bit more real then..

cler · 25/06/2010 17:59

Im now 8+3 and i have been feeling really nauseaus and sick for 2 weeks but today the actual sickness has started while i was eating my dinner, hopefully it wont get to bad. Im looking forward to the energy boost your supposed to get after first trimester because i am constantly tired. I hope everyone is feeling well.xx

tadjennyp · 25/06/2010 18:10

So sorry carabee and welcome milliemoocow. I have put on about 5lbs already and fall asleep really easily in the afternoon, which is not great for my other LOs! I'm also looking forward to greater energy in the second trimester.

BrownPaperandString · 25/06/2010 19:27

I'm also feeling really nauseous all the time but I am getting a bit of relief from those anti sick wrist band things. I've also noticed that sweet things make it worse but sometimes I MUST have a whole bag of cola bottles something sweet. I'm also craving anything citrus and ice lollies seem to help. I am really tired too and have a 3.5 year old and a 2 year old and a DH who gets back from work after they've gone to bed, so I also have the joys of cooking 4x per day

debka · 25/06/2010 20:22

Just to make you all feel jealous- was at Wimbledon today whilst DH had DD and had a sip of Pimms!!! Lucky lucky me!!! Next year I'll have a little teeny one so won't be able to go, but was LOVELY to go today.

varicoseveined · 25/06/2010 20:50

Hi milliemoocow, how many weeks along are you? With my DD, I didn't have any symptoms apart from always feeling a bit hungry until I was about 7 or 8 weeks, then got MS with a vengeance. You might be one of the lucky ones

For a lot of people, symptoms seem to kick in around 6-7 weeks but every pregnancy is different.

Discodisco · 25/06/2010 20:58

Hi all. Yesterday did 2 tests on the day when my period was due and it was positive. Seems I'm 4-5 weeks and the baby would be due either 27 Feb or 28 Feb!

I am completely new to the baby business. Went to see my gp and she asked me to come back in 4 weeks. Is that what they do? Must do a lot of reading to get up to speed.

Bit worried that have some abdominal pain this evening with low back pain, feels more like a period pains but I'm reading the posts and it seems some girls have it too.

What do you know about working vs resting in the first trimester? I'm very busy with a job and own business and I wonder what u think and if you have any experiences?

Bye for now x

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/06/2010 22:18

millie yes it's usual to have days when you don't 'feel' pregnant. Don't worry - you've got plenty of days to come when you do!?!

disco yes some back pain is normal, and yes your doctor won't do anything interesting for a while You should have a scan at about 12 weeks - although mine is scheduled for 13.5 weeks. Before that I get a booking-in appointment with the midwives and also they take blood for bloodtests. Every area is different though and your doctor should tell you what happens locally

DS, DH and I are at Glastonbury this weekend and I'm really struggling in the heat and with all the smells - my eyes are also sore in the dust - but I can't blame that on being pregnant

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/06/2010 22:21

And thinking ahead slightly....

1, We're at 939 messages now. At 1000 we'll need to start another thread. The suggestion is that we do that in 'anti-natal groups' which is the normal place for these groups...

2, I was thinking about putting after people's due dates an 'e' if it's estimated by us and an 's' when it's confirmed by the dating scan - what do people think. Would that be interesting/useful?

3, Any other suggestion? I looked at a few other anti-natal groups and they also have where people are, and for later on after the 23 week scan boy/girl/surprise/secret... Any thoughts?

Lulabel27 · 25/06/2010 22:49

Hi KnitterNotTwitter great idea, I love the organisation skills

I think location would be brill - between 88 of us there must be some shared postcodes for possible meetings?

Still no symptoms by the way and I'm 9 weeks today - apart from major pregnant brain moment today when I meant to get the train to West Hampstead from the City and ended up going to St. Albans! I had no idea until I couldn't work out why it was taking so long DH came to pick me up bless him!

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/06/2010 22:56

Lulabel27 thanks and lucky you re symptoms - I had no MS with my DS and only one rough-feeling day this time round.

Chloe55 · 25/06/2010 23:08

Aha, you are all here! I think I have posted my introduction on the wrong Feb thread so here it is again:

Can I join too please?

I was meant to be starting Clomid (fertility treatment) on my next period as apparantly I'm not ovulating. It would seem that this last month I obviously did ovulate as had 2 BFPs this morning - I have a 4 year old and we have been trying for 2 years so it seems it's been a long time coming.

Got very mixed emotions, shock being the biggest as we thought it was near on impossible without medical help, excitement, happiness, worry and bloody scared.

I kinda thought I was pg as watched the footie on wed at a pub, got pretty drunk as thought I'd have a last blow out and had the worst hangover ever yesterday which lasted well into the evening, I nearly threw up which is just not like me so I knew something was wrong or maybe very 'right'

Feels weird being on a 'Due Feb 2010' as was only 4 years ago I was on 'Due Feb2006'!

PandaEis · 25/06/2010 23:42

hi all
so sorry to those who have had to leave good luck for the future xx

good to see some new joiners

chloe my DD was born in jan 2006 and we have been TTC for about 2.5 years so we r not that far off congrats!!

i agree about the organisation and moving to antenatal too on the last thread i was on for antenatal we had weeks+days we had progressed and a little later on we did 'TP tuesday' aswell which was where we measured our growing waistbands with toilet paper once a week and watch as the sheets accumulated

just some little suggestions

nomoregandtforme · 25/06/2010 23:52

Gosh a couple of days and so many new messages.
So sorry carrabee.

I kept away as I had a bit of a scare - three days of very light brown spotting with crampy pains. Problem is I work in a hospital and with pregnant ladies so I was getting really twitchy. I had made an appt with my GP next monday to talk about it, but finally caved and told one of my colleagues and I was having a test and a scan before I realised what what happening. The upshot is that either I am just much earlier than I thought ie only 3-4 wks, or things aren't developing. Too soon to say. Will just have to wait and see - not very good at being patient!!

I'll post again when/if there is good news, not sure when my scan will be yet.

Ho hum

Best of luck to the rest of you and hope I will be back properly soon

tadjennyp · 26/06/2010 05:40

I was a week less pregnant than I thought I should be gandt and only found that out because I had a bleed then an early scan. Hope everything works out well.

earlgreyismynectar · 26/06/2010 07:56

Hope everything works out g&t spotting early on does seem to be common.

Welcome newbies and congratulations! Panda & Chloe my DD too was born 2006, I think it will be a good age gap. I am noticing a lot has changed in the NHS in standard times for scans etc from 2005!

knitternottwitter I agree it would be a good idea to move over to ante-natal, loving your organisational skills! I think it would be lovely to add more info as we get it. Loved someone's suggestion of toilet paper Tuesday!! Brilliant!

I'm sleeping badly just now, combo of heat and uncomfortable with nausea. Always seem to wake at 3/4am for better part of an hour Still no MS but everything else. Lucky you you symptomless ladies!

Hey enjoy Glastonbury knitter! Get plenty of breaks out of the sun and lots of lollies and drinks! Have a great day everyone!

suzym1984 · 26/06/2010 08:41

Knitternottwitter Excellent suggestions, and well done for being so forward-thinking! Love the idea of posting where abouts we are, so that we could have local support/knowledge. And the idea of measuring waists might be fun too....although a bit scary as I am currnetly in denial about the whole expanding waist thing!

OK, now I have something quite bizarre to ask! Last night I had a dream nightmare that I had the baby, brought it home, and killed it! Accidently I must add, I wrapped it up too warm for bed and it died! I was heartbroken! So basically, is anyone else terrified that they will kill hurt their baby???? Or should I hide my head in shame??

Have a lovely day ladies!

OP posts:
brockleyD · 26/06/2010 09:03

I think it's a lovely idea to add where people are from and if they know gender etc! Age is nice too, I am 27 if you wish you add to record, live in South London.

I also have very few symptoms except gagging! Not actual MS but if I smell something horrible (like cat food!) I gag, anyone else?

Also Proffesor Layton, can you tell me more about your experience of FMC and having a scan at eight weeks, you said they gave you an external scan that early? I have my appointment there in two weeks, can't wait!

milliemoocow · 26/06/2010 10:46

firstly i would like to thank you all for making me feel so welcome on this thread varicoseveined im due mid feb so only 6 week i see midwife on 6th july so hopefully she give me better idea of due date
suzym1984 i also had a weird dream a few nights ago, i was on a plane goin t america (i really do go in sept) and i started giving birth to lots of tiny dead babies it was awful and they kept coming and coming 5 in total... think it must be a pregnancy thing to have weird dreams? it certainly scared me... i hope thats the last of the awful dreams

PDR · 26/06/2010 10:54

I had my scan yesterday and saw a lovely strong heartbeat so all is well

Going for the NHS one at 12ish weeks and booked private gender scan for 17 weeks which I will take DS and DH to as it's on a Saturday.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! It's soooo hot here!

It's my birthday tomorrow and DH has just announched he's got to work Booooo! Going to take DS out somewhere nice though and celebrate just the two of us!

sweetnitanitro · 26/06/2010 11:24

That's great news PDR!

Congrats and welcome to the newbies!

KnitternotTwitter, brilliant suggestions, I'm glad you are organised because I am useless

Off to a wedding today, good thing I have a 20 mo so we have the excuse to leave early, I'll probably be ready for bed about 9ish

Hope everyone else has a lovely weekend in the sun!
