Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babybunting2010 · 27/07/2010 13:05

Morning all,

I love all the names up there, and am also thinking traditional with a twist! Actually mentioned Matilda the other night to DH who asked if I was obsessed with Roal Dhal (or however you spell that!) I hadn't thought about shortening it to Tilly though!

I personally love Imogen and Freya but DH hates both as much as I love them, so we are going with

Isabelle (Izzy)
Felicity (Fliss not flick)
Charlotte (Lotty)
Sophie

I think that's it! Like you Saartjie am petrified of making a bad mistake as don't want her to hate her name. Am def preferring ones where you get 2 names for the price of one with nicknames etc...

Am called Lucy and there is little that you can actually shorten it too though I chose Lu for a number of years but everyone thought I was a Louise! Oh well!

Anyone having weird dreams now????

xxx

Jacksmybaby · 27/07/2010 13:11

Re making a mistake with names, I actually don't think that's really possible as children just become whatever name you've given them and you can't imagine them being called anything else. A couple of friends/family members have recently chosen names for their DCs that I have been very about at first but now don't give a second thought to, because the names just suit them now, if that makes any sense. Of course that assumes you haven't gone with anything REALLY daft .

Hevster · 27/07/2010 13:40

Jacks wow thats so cool having a date, I am still battling for my c-sect and get the feeling that it's going to be a long one. Wicked that the scan was good - I want one now!!!!

I love your names, we have
Freya
Lucy
Olivia
Isobel
Harriet
Matilda (not allowed by DH as she was a 2nd ww tank!)
Jessica
Amelia
Ellie
Georgie
Beatrice
Franchesca

BB I like Charlotte but DH says no!

babybunting2010 · 27/07/2010 13:49

Jacks, wow that's awesome! How come you are having growth scans? I've been given them every 4 weeks due to being in the 90th centile or something!?! I have one booked for the 16th August for my 32 week check up and am hoping that they might do a C Sect earlier if she has grown too big!

I am in a foul mood this afternoon and everyone at work is getting on my wick this arvo! Not sure how to get out of my mood though!

xx

RooBear · 27/07/2010 14:13

BB ref wierd dreams, last night I dreamt we had taken in 8 cats (as well as our own) but the 8 needed their nappies changing every 2 hours. I can still picture these cats on a chnging table on their backs with their legs in the air! they were very cute though

Jacksmybaby · 27/07/2010 14:41

at Roo's dream!

Extra scans are because of thyroid (although did not have them last time - London hosp - so obviously depends on local policy).

I like Charlotte and Sophie too.

BB all my cheering-up suggstions involve the internet so not sure you'll be able to do them with your boss around!

sophieandbelly · 27/07/2010 15:00

well not sure if i belong on this thread any more, got a date for my c-sect yesterday- 29th sept, feels very weird knowing the exact date iam having baby!! 9 weeks tomorrow!

Jacksmybaby · 27/07/2010 16:27

Of course you still belong here s&b! It's exciting (and wierd) to have an actual date isn't it?!

Can you tell by the number of posts today that I've spent the afternoon on mumsnet working from home?

DillyDora · 28/07/2010 09:47

Hello! Lordy me S&B that's soon for the ELCS! You do realise that as you're in the vanguard we'll be expecting you to tell us everything! I'm only 28 weeks tomorrow so....hundreds of years still to go... and 6th Oct isn't long either Jacks Exciting innit?

Loving all the names (sorry, that's not v helpful). Mathilda would have been a top choice if I'd been having a girl.

Welcome back Daynee was hoping you were well, it's good to hear from you again!

Yes to the wierd dreams but they're not about the baby, just about everything else!

xx

babybunting2010 · 28/07/2010 10:14

Morning all,

Can't believe how quickly it's all come round S&B and Jacks- so lucky that you know when you are having your little bundles of joy!

Does anyone have any random and servere back pains. Woke up this morning fine, then about 30 mins after arriving at work my back keeps having shooting really really bad pains, round towards my ribs? Pain is making me feel sick at the moment, any ideas????

xx

sophieandbelly · 28/07/2010 10:49

i no iam in panic moad a bit, and thinking of starting mat leave bit early, finding it hard hairdressing on my feet.

it seems only yesterday that this thread started!!

so jacks ur baby will be exactly a wk younger than mine! how many of u no the sex of ur baby??

i also am full of aches and pains babyb.

seem ok one min then bad back pain and belly ache from the streatching the next.
i remember this from dd i would say just the ligaments etc, which by the way i have pulled a ligament in my tummy ooouchhhh

i to have had few weird dreams in which sometimes the baby a boy sometimes a girl but always 8 lb 2 oz!! how weird if that was true! altho that would be quiet a heffer compaired to dd 6lb 7 oz!

Jacksmybaby · 28/07/2010 12:05

Hairdressing must be really hard pg S&B!

Quite a few of us know the sex, I think of those that know, all of us having girls other than I think Katy86 and one other person (can't remember who now... sorry!).

Re dates, my main worry is that DS arrived at 35 weeks so will not be able to relax for a second this time from 35wks on, even if this one does end up hanging in there til 6 Oct (which will be 38+6)! No specific medical reason apparently why this one would follow in her brother's footsteps, BUT according to my consultant "some women are just designed to go into labour earlier than others" great!!

BB no idea what that pain is but if it's really bad to the point of making you feel sick I would call GP or hospital.

DillyDora · 28/07/2010 12:16

It's me! I'm having a baby boy called Toby!

Jacks do you mind me asking - when DS came early... was all that ok?! I am really freaking out about the baby coming early..

I really can't stand up for long S&B so how you are still hairdressing I really don't know!!

Jacksmybaby · 28/07/2010 12:28

Oh yes, sorry Dilly!

Yes all was fine in the end, as in no long term complications for me or him, BUT pretty unpleasant and traumatic at the time . Apart from being jaundiced and low weight though, he was remarkably strong and healthy right from the start and managed to stay out of SCBU.

p.s. was thinking earlier about what happens when we "graduate" from this thread... maybe the 1st one to give birth should set up a new one in the post-natal topic if people want to stay in touch?

DillyDora · 28/07/2010 13:11

Not at all Jacks I can hardly remember my name, let alone what flavour babies people were having.

Glad all was well with little man, I think I just fret for nothing.

Definitely want to stay in touch!

RooBear · 28/07/2010 14:02

sounds like a great idea Jacks I'm happy if anyone wants to join me on facebook as well

FutureMum · 28/07/2010 15:17

Hi ladies,

Only 2 months to go for me (due date changed from Oct to late Sept but I decided to cheat and stay in the October thread anyway - I've got the feeling the baby will be late!)
Back getting more uncomfortable by the day - sitting down at the office not nice! I need to go on mini-walks to stop the discomfort developing into pain. Bump has grown and grown over the last three weeks to people's amezement/ comments.
I like most of the girls names on the list! : )

DillyDora · 28/07/2010 19:46

Hey Futuremum if you have a bad back at work they have to help you get comfy with the right chair etc. OR could you sit on one of those ball things? The physio really recommended them to us at the pelvic pain clinic and they're not expensive...

Hevster · 28/07/2010 20:22

busy day on the thread today!

Had GTT at 8.15 this morning and even I was hungry by the time I got out of the hosptial at 11! DD threw up in the car on the way - was very glad it was Gran's car and not mine!!!!

Definately up for a post birth thread and also happy to facebook

FutureMum · 29/07/2010 10:05

Hi DillyDora, thanks but I already have a good chair, think it's more to do with the extra weight and spending more than 2 hours sitting down at a time.
Ball thing sounds interesting, I will investigate.
Soon to be on mat leave, so at least I can walk/ lie down/ sit in many positions then!
Am not on Facebook but happy to chat here. Also have been trying for a while to find out how to exchange e-mail address privately with some mumsnetters, does anyone know how to do this, please?

babybunting2010 · 29/07/2010 10:10

Morning all, Yeah am so up for staying in touch with everyone and joining facebook etc... How do we do it? The funny thing is that we will know everyones real names as haven't got a clue what anyone else is called! Teehee!

Back pain was from sitting badly and doc thinks baby pushing my ribs apart. Which was fun!

DH keeps thinking we are going to be late, I am convinced LO is going to arrive early as she is in the 90th Centile so will be 7lbs or so at 36 weeks! So I can't see her lasting till 40 weeks let alone 42.

Anyone else having growth scans due to huge baby!?!?

We should def start another thread when we have our little ones.

Very excited now!

Hevster how did you find your GTT? I felt waffy as hell afterwards!

xx

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 29/07/2010 10:24

I'm having a growth scan tonight, because of my GTT result... though i've been doing the finger pricking test all week and haven't had one reading higher than 'normal' despite eton mess for dessert :p
