Oh I love a good wedding - I have two coming up out of 4 for this year.

Wore a maxi dress to the first two and its getting a third outing next Saturday. For the other one I got a dress from Blooming marvelous on line was uber-cheap and initially I was a bit disappointed with it as I looked huge - however I went out and spent a fortune on a pair of heels 2 sizes bigger than normal and matching bag and actually quite like it now!

They run aqua natal classes in a hotel near me - however they are on a Monday at 10am so have only made it once due to work - but I am dying to go once I finish up.

Re maternity pay - I'm afraid it's Stat pay and savings only for me as I'm self employed - but it does mean I can finish up and start back when I want - so long as the business is there of course .

night night xxx

Morning all!

Yummymummy and co - I'm having that weird under-bump pain when walking sometimes too! It seems to be mainly in morning when dashing to station, or when walking home. It's better, weirdly, if I do a proper long walk so I wonder if it's being still for hours and then suddenly moving into action? I read somewhere it might be round ligament pain - so stretching pain, which I guess would make sense but mine is right side only? Wonder if it happens when bowel is full too (ahem!)...

Does anyone else feel like their rib cage is broadening now? I find if I eat a lot (greedy git that I am!) I get a bit uncomfortable on the sides and back...

Haven't tried aquanatal but did try prenatal yoga a while back (got freaked out by massive bumps and ran back to normal hatha classes for the time being! Going to slink back in at 32 weeks.

RooBear · 16/07/2010 09:28

Morning! Have one last wedding to attend this year, in sept so i'll leave the outfit until the last minute! Anyone else suffering from cramp on a night? I keep waking up with it in my toes and calf muscles, have to walk around for a while and am bloomin' knackered on a morning! I constantly eat tizzy! was at a regtimental dinner last night and had two puddings, the guys aren't allowed a comfort break until everyone had finished they weren't impressed!

Hevster · 16/07/2010 10:02

I get the cramp in my legs and boy do I have to leap out of bed quick to hop around the bedroom, another pregnancy joy that I had forgotten!
Very jealous of all you people who can eat, I am still on 1 sandwich a day and that makes mw feel so sick I have to go back to bed . Am planning large, rare steak with blue cheese sauce and bucket of wine for my birth celebration!

Saartjie · 16/07/2010 11:04

Hevster you just made me really really hungry

YummyMummy1208 · 16/07/2010 11:35

i think im getting so paranoid, watching every tiny thing that could mean pre-term labour! thismorning when i was walking or dashing to the shop before work i felt a tingling sensation in my pelvis and remember this is what u feel wen baby is going down ready for labour and thought...omg what if?? which is silly as i have 14 weeks left yet!
I had my first kick in the ribs yesterday so she's definately getting close to being squished in there now, even felt a hand or leg move across my hand which made me jump in shock and caused everyone at work to ask whats the matter.
I wish i lived in a bigger area as we have no special prenatal yoga or aquanatal classes round me as there wouldnt be enough takers to make it worth while. altho im doing a bit of yoga at home, wen i say a bit i literally mean like ten mins a day! and will just look forward to starting exercising agagin once baby is here!

Anyone having lots of braxton hicks yet?

Jacksmybaby · 16/07/2010 13:41

Tizzy yes re expanding ribcage, my underwired bras are getting v uncomfortable now esp in the evening and/or after eating, although am still being vain and wearing them to work / when out and about, and saving the hideously unflattering maternity ones for round the house .

YM no BHs yet, have you had them? Although I don't think I ever had any last pg, not that I noticed anyway.

I did pre-natal yoga classes last pg, but there weren't any near me this time. I have to say the aqua-natal is a lot less embarrassing since once you're in the water no-one can see you prancing around like a hippo (also I always seem to get the urge to giggle in the more "hippy" parts of yoga sessions).

Been to DS's pre-school sports day this morning (his first sports day - proud mummy emoticon!). He came last in just about everything, bless him, and managed to do one "race" walking down the track with his hand down his pants (obviously needing a wee) and finishing miles after everyone else. Priceless .

TizzyNo1 · 16/07/2010 14:28

That's a brilliant sports-day image Jacksmybaby! . Think I might try bra strap extenders to eek out bras a bit longer (pardon the pun!)

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 16/07/2010 18:03

Hi all...

Has anyone had the GTT and got thier results back yet? x

Hevster · 16/07/2010 20:11

Jacks DS is a little star - hope you took a camera!

anything not had a GTT (yet) but we get the results the same day here as long as we go to Salisbury rather the local birthing unit

Hevster · 19/07/2010 21:17

we had slipped to page 3!!!!
Hope you all had a good weekend, my plan to return to work was trashed by my GP who has signed me off for another 4 weeks and won't sign me back on until I can eat more . NOt sure there is a lot I can do about eating more at the moment so ....

Saartjie · 20/07/2010 11:15

Morning, seems to have gone all quiet on here. Is everyone off on hols? Walking around aimlessly and trying to pack for our move. Can't believe we leave in 39 days (yes I am counting). Feeling so heavy at the moment, MW appointment last week confirmed that I have gained 13 kg , I am officially mahooosive. Still MW does not seem concerned so I guess it is ok. Starting to have thoughts about the birth. It's getting a bit too close for comfort. Has anyone starting thinking about a birth plan? Is anyone considering home-birth?

Hevster sorry to hear that your GP has signed you off again, you seem really down about it. It can't be easy not being able to eat.

FutureMum · 20/07/2010 11:29

Hi everyone,

Minor panic as cold sore came on yesterday due to stressful w/e and tiredness - not the first cold sore, but hadn't had one for ages.
2 months and a few days to go (date changed from Oct into Sept) & going on mat leave soon due to circumstances. Starting to think about birth now, which means we are getting a bit nervy.
Little one is a joy to feel jumping around and kicking, apart from when my liver gets squished. Anyone else getting back pain?
My m/wife doesn't weight people, thanks God, as I know I am putting on a few kilos, haven't got the energy to do any sport apart from work, chores, etc. and walking up the hills in the heat is a killer.
Saartje how exciting about your move!!

RooBear · 20/07/2010 12:13

hey, I'm still around feeling exhausted at the moment, can't seem to shake the tiredness. Think my anemia is returning, doesn't help i'm staring at computer all day either. Other than that things are fine, nursery is taking shape! Anyone else planning on working late? I'm working upto the 11th oct but getting worried this won't be feasible.

Saartjie · 20/07/2010 13:37

FutureMum I have terrible lower back pain. Can't seem to find any comfortable sitting positions, the only thing that seems to help is laying down which I do a lot. Also have a lot of pressure agains my rib-cage which is rather uncomfortable. Yes move is exciting but I am a bit nervous. Will see the MW twice before I leave and then I will need to pick up with a new MW in South Africa I hope she is as nice as my current one.

RooBear I also feel very tired at the moment but I am lucky not to have to be at work. Glad to hear that your nursery is taking shape. I can't wait to get stuck into mine at our new home!

YummyMummy1208 · 20/07/2010 14:21

Hello Ladies,

Is it just me or is anyone else's patience slightly wearing a little thinner than before? My colleague has 4 weeks left and i cant help thinking that my 14 weeks sounds like foooorrrever compared to 4! Even tho i did promise myself i wudnt moan and im not completely moaning just wanted to know if u guys r feeling the same way? 10 whole weeks left at work....

I feel like my bump has dropped an inch or so down which is weird - and i havent had heartburn for a good few days which is a plus, so wish we knew when baby was arriving, its the whole - will she be late or will she be early? waiting game now!

Headaches and nausea r back now which is my downer for the week - oh and as for pregnancy hormones?! I spent most of the weekend either crying or screaming at OH for practically breathing around me. bless him, he put up with it well.

Baby room still not started yet BUT i have told OH im out for the day saturday and i want to see paint on the walls when i return! so at least we will have made some progress come next week!

Howz everyone feeling?

Hevster · 20/07/2010 16:53

saartjie can't believe you only have 39 days left, how exciting.
Am also knackered and sorry for those of you that are having to trail into work in this heat.

If I ever get back to work then I am planning on working as late as possible so I can maximise my mat leave and pay a months less nursery fees

Preg hormones not as bad as last week so no longer over emotional and tearful which is good!

YummyMummy1208 · 20/07/2010 19:37

wish i could say the same hevster! Iv been ok today mind, just totally knackered now ive just sat down after getting DS1 sorted and in bed.

Its been pouring with rain here in wales all day so not so much trouble with the heat where i am thankfully.

Have a nite out on Friday, dont really think ill have the energy to go but its a works hen party so i have to make an effort to be there. Want to hurry up and get all these nites out out of the way as it reminds me how restricted u r during pregnancy! - no alcohol, bed by 10pm, heels r a nightmare altho i am stil going to wear them!

Anyone experiencing any weird or wonderful symptoms this week?

Jacksmybaby · 20/07/2010 21:11

Weird symptom for the week: the skin on my tummy has become really sensitive - not as in coming out in a rash/reacting to products, but as in feeling really uncomfortable to the touch, even the feel of my clothes brushing against it is horrible! I guess this is to do with the skin stretching. Don't remember having this last time round.

Am also absolutely shattered (does not help that DS only just asleep (9pm) and will be up at 5.30 if normal pattern is to be followed). And being very tired always makes me very tearful and miserable, even more so at the moment with the hormones thrown in.

Work is horribly busy but will be stopping at the beginning of Sept (don't have much choice as have to use up annual leave before due date... but actually will be nice to stop at 34 weeks anyway - esp as DS was born at 35 weeks so there's a chance it could happen again ).

that so many of us having health problems! Hevster really hope things start looking up soon.

x

Hevster · 20/07/2010 21:19

take back all hormone comments, am officially tired and grumpy and threatened DD that I would remove her toys from her bed if I had to go back upstairs again - thankfully she believed me and I didn't need to test my resolve!

Jacks thats a wierd symptom and we have been on the 5.30's this week too.

Yummy am impressed that you still manage to go out, I get so jealous of others drinking that I prefer to stay at home.

Spent this evening looking at next years potential holiday, don't spose anyone has been to Cala n Bosh, Menorca?

babybunting2010 · 21/07/2010 16:57

Hey all,

Being watched like a hawk now a days at work, I swear they must think I am on the internet every chance I get.... oh wait... I am!! LMAO!

Anyway Jacks, the weird pregnancy symptom is not one I have experienced, though I now have to sit almost horizontal at work as soon to be DD gives me a good old jab in the pelvic bone or the ribs if I am sat up straight! Quite annoying really but love the feeling anyway!

Had a growth scan Monday am getting a little scared now though as she is in the 90th Centile for big babies currently weighing 3lbs and having a head and abdominal measurement 2 weeks bigger than my gestation period and has femur length of 31 weeks a full 3 weeks and 1 day more than I actually am! OUCH!!! Not looking forward to week 40! God I hope I am not too late.

Does anyone know if they bring births forward or induce you if the baby is getting too big? I am really scared now!!!

xxx

babybunting2010 · 22/07/2010 15:44

Have I upset you all????
x

Hevster · 22/07/2010 15:53

upset us all - ????? na, just been out today and have no idea if they induce you but have seen plenty of threads where people have been told they are having a whopper baby and they have had a relatively small one. For some reason it seems hard to gauge the size from scans (can't get my head round it myself)

Jacksmybaby · 22/07/2010 17:10

I don't know the answer re induction either BB - BUT try looking at it this way instead of focussing on the birth part: big babies have bigger stomachs, capable of holding more milk, which means they tend to sleep longer between feeds. Yay.

babybunting2010 · 22/07/2010 17:42

Yay! More sleep! Though am exhausted so could sleep for England already!

What's everyone been up to today?
