I have been having a bit of lower back ache this last week. so annoying all these aches and pains.

Just spending Sunday shopping wore me out, i found myself so exhausted where i thught a few times i need to sit down incase i pass out...i only did a little walking!

My OH has really taken a beating off me this weekend, i feel awful those bloody hormones flying around are making me so snappy and stressed. so today ive decided to make a conscious effort not to snap or be nasty to him...which believe me is hard work atm! So far so good iv been pretty nice. he is now taking DS1 for a bath before he goes to the gym....i have spent the whole day working on my diploma which i have to send off friday so tonite i think im gonna do some ebay shopping for baby...what can i buy next?

Have any of u started on the baby room yet? please say no...

RooBear · 06/07/2010 12:43

Hello everyone, had my 25wk appt yesterday and my blood pressure seems to be dropping each vist! its now 100/50. Would explain why I nearly fell off the chair painting the nursery on sun-so yes yummymummy we have started, sorry! x

DillyDora · 06/07/2010 12:48

Hi Yummy I am a menty banshee as well with the hormones...so not nice...

Don't even have a baby room - he'll be in our room so we have sort of started as we're selling some of our furniture to buy nicer stuff in a different shape which allows room for his cot so..hm...sorry...we've started...

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 06/07/2010 12:58

Yummymummy... we have finished the babies room... sorry :p

I think its my boredom and impatience, but i've even hung all the dresses in the wardrobe, all the books on the shelf etc :p

Hevster · 06/07/2010 13:04

not touched the baby room, but then that's not the problem - DD2 can just take it over as it is, what I must do is start the spare room for DD1!

KFW · 06/07/2010 13:50

Hi Yummy. I can make you feel better!

We have done absolutely nothing. We have ordered a pram, but apart from that we have done nothing at all. No other purchases and definitely no progress on the baby room, which looks exactly as it did when we moved in in November last year It has only an airbed for when we have too many drunk people to stay over to fit in our spare room!

We are about to go on holiday for two weeks and will then start thinking about it properly when we get back. I am only due on 23 October so I figure we have masses of time. Don't we?!

YummyMummy1208 · 06/07/2010 19:35

lol. i like ur thinking KFW! it seems a tad silly we are decorating baby's room as we are leaving for canada when shes 7 months but i still want a lovely pink room to show everyone while we are waiting for her arrival!

we have almost cleared everything out of there - it was my closet another thing im giving up for my lovely children! so iv shifted my wardrobe into our room and OH is giving his up for the baby as its only for 7 months. we have paint ready but just dont seem to get time at weekends to start! we have weddings for the next 2 weeks so think we may start end of the month - or OH will shouod i say, me and DS1 will go spend the say visiting the grandparents and leave OH to work in peace!

Thnk god DS1 has gone straight to sleep tonite, he was so cranky thisafternnon due to missing his nap - it was one of those 'is it bedtime yet?' evenings! altho my patience seemed to lasst quite well tonite tbh thankfully.

this is an odd question but for those of u who had stretchmarks first time round - did u get more second time round?? Its a Q thats been bugging me for a while now and i cant seem to find any answers so thought i would ask u guys!

Jacksmybaby · 07/07/2010 08:53

YM I got some stretch marks 1st time (none on my tummy strangely, all on boobs/hips/thighs) and so far I don't think they have got worse this time... yet! I know everyone says oils/creams etc don't work but I do wonder if the reason I didn't get any on the tummy is that I put the Clarins oil on it every day last pg, but it didn't occur to me to put it anywhere else!! Needless to say I am covering my entire body in it this time!

Re baby's room, ours is already decorated as a nursery (lilac so gender neutral) from when DS had it as his room but since he moved out into his "big boy room" a year or so ago it's become filled up with all sorts of junk so needs a serious clear out!

babybunting2010 · 07/07/2010 09:42

Hi All,

Been a long week already, spent yesterday morning in the hospital as they think I might have Gestational Diabetes, they put my body through extremes (14 hours fasting and then given pure glucose!) As a result felt awful all day yesterday.

Re the sex thing, both DH and I are a bit off it at the moment, he is put off by the fact that I am pregnant, not because he doesn't like the way I look or anything just the whole having a baby up there kind of thing. I respect him for being honest with me and to be fair I am usually asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow so it doesn't fuss me. I have always had a really low libido anyway so it doesn't really fuss me. I am also really worried about the whole contractions after sex thing so I don't really relax on the few occassions that we have done it! sorry if that was tmi!

I am impressed with everyones ability to not buy everything! We have already bought pretty much anything pink and cute have clothes ranging from newborn to 12 months and the nursery is all decorated! All we need now is the little one! So exctied!

To be honest I am ridiculously organised anyway which annoys the hell out of most people but it's who I am! Plus I have never been so excited in my life!!!!!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the British Summer! Am V Jealous of those emmigrating, would love to do something like that but have too much of a mortgage etc...

xxxx

KFW · 07/07/2010 10:37

babyb I am also very excited and usually ridiculously organised. Although I am not superstitious I think that having had 3 MC just makes me feel a bit nervous about the whole thing. However, she is kicking like nobody's business (and I even felt what I think were hiccups yesterday!) so I am comforted that she seems to be doing OK. I reckon I can legitimately go ahead with the nursery when we are back from hols and I will be 27 weeks.

yummy and jacks this is my first so no idea about stretch marks, but I did have some stretch marks on my boobs anyway from teenage years, so I think I may be prone to them. We shall see... I prefer the idea of stretch marks on my hips to my tummy I have to say! My sis bought me some mamma mio stuff, but announced breezily that "it won't make any difference but it smells nice"! She's a doctor and I usually trust her judgment but I hope she's wrong on this one!

babybunting2010 · 07/07/2010 12:27

Hi KFW, I think I was quite naive about the whole thing as have been really lucky with conception etc? (I realise I will get my comeuppance at some point) Anyway I started buying stuff even before my 12 weeks and putting it in the loft thinking if anything happens to this one then I would just try again! I now realise how stupid and how harmful that could have been if it had all gone wrong and I was potentially setting myself up for a giant fall! But hey it?s done now!

My SIL is still desperately ttc but having had 1 MC and then finding out a at a scan that the baby had died at nearly 11 weeks, she is really struggling to get through it all at the moment and is taking a step back from me and tbh I am taking a bit of a step back from her as well as I don?t want to be flaunting anything as all she has ever wanted is to be a mother! As a result it has really taught me how delicate the whole thing is and how very very silly I was.

I really hope you enjoy making all your purchases when you get back from holiday!

YummyMummy1208 · 07/07/2010 13:37

Aww thats so sad babybunting it must be so horrible going to a scan - when ur all excited waiting to see ur baby and finding out he/she has died. i feel so ungreatful for having had 2 'accident' pregnancies when u hear of others trying to hard to conceive. Makes u appreciate what uv got doesnt it. must be hard tho when ur naturally excited and someone around u has circumstances like that. Im sure she will have her day one day.

Regarding the stretchmark cream, i really do believe that if u have had them before u will get them in pregnancy no matter how many lotions u put on ur belly - u may lower the amount of them u get by using creams but i dont believe u can totally avoid them. also i think it must have something to do with ur height - if u have longer legs and a shorter midrift then the baby is gonna stick out more meaning more stretching for ur belly than if u had a longer midrift where baby wouldnt show as much?

We bought the cutest ever little teeny tiny swimming costume for baby the weekend - i keep opening the baby cuboard every day just to look at it and pull a funny face at how cute it is! cant wait to put her in it! i love baby girls clothes, cant believe ive been given a baby girl of my own!

on a bad note i have been feeling so light headed today at work and for the past few days actually. everytime i stand up i just feel almost as if i need to sit down incase i pass out..anyone else getting this? maybe i shud get my blood pressure checked out?

babybunting2010 · 07/07/2010 13:46

Hi YM- Thanks for your lovely words.

I do the same with a teeny tiny dressing gown that we bought! Have to look at it every couple of days just because it's cute.

I am totally getting the light headed thing, I thought it was low blood sugar as seems to get a bit better if I eat something. Had tests for gestational diabetes yesterday so hoping that will shed some light!

Have you googled it?

MummyBeth · 07/07/2010 14:01

Hi ladies, just thought I'd say hi and goodnight! Super tired today.

My last day off today before 5 weeks of hell - then it's down to part time working for me.

Going to bed with Colin Firth now - pride and prejudice, not the real thing, unfortunately!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

KFW · 07/07/2010 14:54

Babyb don't be silly. You haven't been naive. You have been positive. And so you should - most people have a good time of it and pregnancy should be happy - like mine is now ! Just enjoy it! I know what you mean about your SIL. One of my best friends is struggling to conceive and doesnt know if she'll be able to kids at all . I deliberatly don't talk to her about this PG, but she is always asking. I am sure you are being sensitive and that's the most important thing.

FWIW, I wasnt jealous of successful pregnancies when I had MCs - just v sad.

Re blood pressure, mine is always low, but has hit rock bottom since PG. I just get up from sitting down v slowly and if I feel wobbly when sitting I munch chocolate. It seems to work!

Hevster · 07/07/2010 20:31

babyb reckon they will be sending me for the GD tests next week as I have some of the symptons, in 2 minds as to whether to call midwife and confess to symptoms or wait till little sis wedding is out of the way (this weekend). Hope your results are ok.
mummyb ooh Colin Firth - oh yes!

busy, busy in my life this week, little bro is over from Miami for the wedding and we seem to have been landed with 101 jobs to do for my sister in 3 days!

DillyDora · 08/07/2010 09:45

Hi All

Agree with KFW BabyB, you weren't being silly at all. I think we all know at least one person who's had MC or difficulties TTC... it's the way of it isn't it?

I think the lightheadedness is about normal for this stage of pg but always worth getting it checked. DH used to be a nurse so he comes in quite handy sometimes and told me that in pg blood pressure is lower in general.. so there you go!

Clothing crisis looms its ugly head - meeting DH's ex g/f (nice ex, not horrid ex) and another friend after work tomorrow and it's going to be v v hot so need something that's really smart & stylish and also ok for work, and cool... these 2 women are in their 40s and don't have kids so.... (God, I'm an idiot... ) I have stuff on order but of course it isn't here yet...

babybunting2010 · 08/07/2010 10:24

Hi Dilly, I vote Maxi dress, perfectly cool, good for work and shows off the bump beautifully and you should be able to pick one up in town or something (I bought a lovely one from George for £8 and have also seen some really nice ones in Tesco!) P.S I promise I don't always buy clothes from the supermarket!

Hevster- When you have your GTT test for GD make sure you book the day off work as it totally wrecked me for the day and ended up being sent home from work as kept nearly passing out, once I was home and had eaten and stuff I was fine but before that it knocked me around. You don't actually find anything out at the test, they just send the results to MW. Oh the wonders of the NHS hey!

DillyDora · 08/07/2010 10:33

Hi BabyB thanks! I actually have the New Look maternity one, you know the black one? Here I haven't worn any maternity wear to work yet, it would be my first day 'out' wonder if I'm brave enough Anyhoo, have a meeting in town later so could maybe shop afterwards.... hmm...

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 08/07/2010 10:59

Hevster or babyb... What symptoms of GD do you have? They are sending me for a glucose test on tuesday, but I feel fine, except for tired and hot, which I think we're all feeling :p

xx

babybunting2010 · 08/07/2010 11:50

Anything... I have been shakey and VERY hot (Sweating for no reason) and really tired. If I haven't eaten for a while I end up feeling really crap! That's about the only way to describe it to be fair!

OK.... I am freaking out and I mean properly freaking out! I haven't felt my baby move at all since yesterday! I don't know what to do or whether I am just being unreasonable. Have had sugar and that's done nothing. Have drunk cold water and that hasn't done anything. What should I do? I am so scared!

xx

DillyDora · 08/07/2010 11:53

Phone MW I think babyb as a first port of call...sorry lovey, hang on in, give her a ring and let us know how you get on.
xx

JazzieJeff · 08/07/2010 12:11

Babyb Ring MW and talk to her, she'll probably get you in to have a listen to baby's heartbeat... I would try not to worry, my baby doesn't even bother most days until at least midday, even then I have to be sat down and leaning forward... Maybe the hot weather is just making them all move slower too?
Let us know how you get on xxx

DillyDora · 08/07/2010 12:46

babyb I have to go to an external meeting so I can't check in till much much later, I hope all is well.
xxx

Hevster · 08/07/2010 15:14

anything i am constantly thirsty and pee out more than goes in, just about to phone midwife and confess to symptons!
babyb hope all is well, same thing happened to me last preg and all was fine just had to be monitored and start a wall chart of movements.
