Hi everyone...I'm new to Mumsnet and this is my first thread...very exciting!

I tested positive on Monday and think I am due on 3rd December 2010. I don't think anyone has started a December thread yet, so I thought I would get the ball rolling. Sorry if it's already on here somewhere!

This is my first pregnancy and I am so happy! I am trying not to dwell too much on what could go wrong (it's early days) and instead am focusing on how amazing, new and wonderful this feels!

I am still trying to work out what all the BFPs, POAS and the like mean...but I'm having fun trying!

Would be great to hear from you all. x

Sorry to be first bearer of bad news. But having been excitedly watching this thread for 3 weeks, I now have to leave you all and wish you best of luck.
Lost it at the weekend. Most horrible thing. But then I suppose it must be even more horrible after 6 weeks. Wasn't meant to be. Hope you are all well and continue to be so. I will be thinking of you all in December.

Thinking of you Ollers and AuntyV, so sorry to hear your news. I've been lurking here too, not daring to post until I know what's happening with mine. Still don't know what's going on but anyway, big hugs and hope to see you back here soon. xx

Angim · 21/04/2010 08:59

I think it depends on where you live as always!! I had a miscarriage last year and am now nearly 8 wks pg. I was told that due to cuts I will have to wait for the 12 wk scan unless i have any actual problems.

Im also due on 3rd Dec!

Angim · 21/04/2010 09:05

Fingers crossed for those waiting on scans to see if everything is ok.

emmaxmas · 21/04/2010 09:10

Hello! I tested positive at the weekend so am coming up to 5 weeks which means my due date will be Christmas Eve! First pregnancy and am really really excited although nervous too and just want to get through the next few weeks okay. Have Dr's appointment tomorrow to confirm and to get the ball rolling. Am absolutely exhausted and have had very sore boobs. Have never been so tired and have had to have nana naps this week in the afternoons!

namechange100 · 21/04/2010 12:15

Hello all,

Hope it ok to join you as I tested positive on Monday so I am now 4wks 3days. Still taking it in. My estimated due date is 26th December! - So Emma nearest to you I think.

I havent had many symptons really except a few extra visits to the loo and feeling a bit washed out. Still managed my usual swim yesterday.

Not been on Mumsnet for a while but I loved my antenatel thread when I was expecting my DS1 and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Chuchie · 21/04/2010 13:08

Hi All

Hope you dont mind me joining you. I tested positive last week and I am somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks with my second.

DD is 6 and from a previous marriage. I have only been with my current partner for six months so that has come as a COMPLETE shock, but we are very happy about it. Another December baby. DD's Bday is Dec 6th, this one nearer Xmas I think....better start saving!!

Look forward to getting to know you all

xx

Hey guys,

Congrats to all of you!

I'm due on 10 December 2010, I think, but I don't understand how the conception date works! First day of my period was 5th March 2010, so some sites say I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant and then some sites say we conceived on 19th March 2010 which puts me at just over 4 weeks!! As you can guess, this is my first time so really, really new at all of this.

Also, i don't understand the abbreviations on the forums. Can someone help?

Thank you!! xx

LeylaHP · 21/04/2010 13:30

I'm so sorry Ollers. My heart goes out to you :-(

AnitaBlake · 21/04/2010 14:17

Hello all! I'm seven weeks tomorrow, I've joined the ante-natal club already, is it ok to join here too?

I had a few symptoms early on, mostly premenstual type thing, and incredibly sore boobs, but these seem to have subsided completely and I'm feeing better than ever lol! I'm holiday atm and we've been doing a lot of walking, poor DH is worn out and I'm just full of beans, having a day off today, and I'm still feeling really restless, I'm overweight (by quite a bit) so I'm hoping to lose some while keeping as healthy as possible, just sensible low-fat eating and lots of walking for as long as I can.

Really excited just to be joining one of these threads as I'm 33 and it's my first time! DH has a daughter already but because of circumstances it's really his first time through the whole circus too. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better!

rachxx · 21/04/2010 14:40

HI everyone
i got positive result on sunday and an due on the 26th dec. its my second child my son will be 13 on the 8th dec so both christmas babies.and a massive age gap!

I am only 4wks pg but got really bad morning sickness already (well actually afternoon and evening sickness) is anyone else the same?

LeylaHP · 21/04/2010 17:37

Ah! Thanks Miffster. Now I understand what you're all talking about. Excellent! :-)

Hi websticks - No, I'm 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I'm just getting that rubbish nausea, where certain smells set you off? I think we have a long way to go though!

Are you throwing up?

websticks · 21/04/2010 19:36

Hi leylaHP

No not actually throwing up but heaving a bit and feel really sick all afternoon and evening. Didnt feel like this last time. Oh well every pregnancy is different,or maybe i just dont remember.

Has anyone else out there got a big age gap?

kisses1973 · 21/04/2010 20:06

Hi all

had my midwife appointment yesterday and it went really well, shes requesting an early scan for me to put my mind at rest because of my miscarriage last September.

My ex boyfriend who wanted me to have an abortion is long gone and has been warned by the police to leave me alone or face arrest.

Going back to work on Monday and a little bit scared, because tried to wear a bra all day today and lasted until about 2pm, not good, boobs are really really sore and still feeling very queezy but hopefully that will die off at about 14 weeks.

Hope everyone is going well.

OLLERS i'm soo sorry, its never easy and you never forget but remember you have friends and family that will support you, lean on them its what they are there for and don't be afraid to cry and don't be afraid at your reaction to pregnant women and new born babies, I did it does get easier and you never forget xxxx

shelleee · 21/04/2010 22:05

Hi WEBSTICKS , im 8 weeks this week with dc#2 my ds was 12 on friday so im also starting all over again , r we mad .... ha ha ....it was my hen night on saturday so it was a very sober one our wedding is on sun 2nd may so im hoping the nausea im feeling isnt too bad on that day ..

LeylaHP · 22/04/2010 10:02

I know how you feel - I get that nauseous feeling after I've eaten, not to mention bloating and embarrassing wind! AARGH!!

LeylaHP · 22/04/2010 14:25

Does nausea go for some women? I don't seem to have it now and I can smell some pretty strong smelling foods...

PJen · 22/04/2010 14:34

Hi Leyla, I am glad you don't have nausea. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones... Week 5 my sense of smell got stronger, Week 6 I felt some nausea, Week 7 (now) I have constant nausea to the point that I can't hide at work. God knows what is in week 8 for me...

LLKH · 22/04/2010 14:50

Leyla, it's a relief to know that I am not the only one with gas and bloating! The enhanced sense of smell is beginning to start, DHTB and I have begun to refer to it as "Dog nose".

Anyone else had any vague cramping as things readjust?

LeylaHP · 22/04/2010 14:53

Hey PJen,

I hope week 8 is where your nausea ends because that's def the worst pregnancy symptom so far! :-(

Thing is, I'm Week 7 now but yesterday I had nausea. It's like it's vanished overnight.

I had the same as you - week 5, my sense of smell got stronger, week 6, i felt some nausea then lots of nausea towards the end of week 6 and now? Nothing! I'm thankful (and may be talking too quickly) but I'm also worried too...

websticks · 22/04/2010 20:50

Hi Anitablake

I like you are 33 but this is my second child i was really slim when i got pregnant last time, but gained 4 stone by the end and it never really came off. So i am quiet over weight now and am 4.5 weeks pregnant and am determend to eat health and do loads of walking as i really cant afford to gain loads this time. maybe you could let me know how you are finding it, and if the munchies start ha
