Hi everyone...I'm new to Mumsnet and this is my first thread...very exciting!

I tested positive on Monday and think I am due on 3rd December 2010. I don't think anyone has started a December thread yet, so I thought I would get the ball rolling. Sorry if it's already on here somewhere!

This is my first pregnancy and I am so happy! I am trying not to dwell too much on what could go wrong (it's early days) and instead am focusing on how amazing, new and wonderful this feels!

I am still trying to work out what all the BFPs, POAS and the like mean...but I'm having fun trying!

Would be great to hear from you all. x

Oh my goodness - it sound slike you all have had scans already! I told my GP and he siad I'de get an appointment in the mail, but nothing yet. I am 7 weeks already and I thought that you get scanned at 10-12 weeks. Is that too late??

techgirl · 13/05/2010 20:34

No - 12 weeks, or even later, up to 15, is normal - much earlier than this doesn't show up as much. I had one today (10 weeks) but only because I had a slight bleed this week and I wouldn't wish the worry on anyone. I'm not expecting my 'proper' scan and booking appt for another month or so.

maxpower · 15/05/2010 20:09

Can I join? Got a BFP this afternoon after ttc DC2 for 2 years! I estimate my due date as 28 December, so I might just scrape in.

JodieO · 16/05/2010 09:20

If you want a nuchal scan then you need to have that before 13 weeks, so 14 weeks would be too late. I've had a few very early scans and they were very reassuring, my one at 6 weeks showed the heart beating away I'm 8+1 now

To Echo WalkTheDog, come and join the Dec antenatal thread

Hi everyone and congratulations to all

Have been hugging the toilet bowl since I last logged on.... but beginning to feel much better now- actually fell asleep talking to my in laws a few weeks ago too

scan on Friday, wahooo!! slightly worried they wont see anything and tell me I'm insane but the ridiculous amounts of tests I've done, MS and fatigue should be an indicator otherwise.

Hope everyones blooming and enjoying the journey

P.S can anyone recommend nice maternity wear? I'm really not game for the 4 outfits I had on a loop last time!

Hi all. I haven't posted for ages! I hope everyone's doing OK. I'm a bit miserable at the moment - ms has been getting worse and worse in the last few weeks. Now 10+2 and have been diagnosed with hyperemesis. Not much fun. Take care everyone XXX

japhrimel · 20/05/2010 09:31

Hi everyone, I'm new here. 10+1 today by my LMP, but more likely 9+5 really. Due around the 19 December! It's (hopefully) our first baby, but I had 2 early miscarriages last year, so we're still a bit nervous.

LeilaLacrosse - the nuchal scan can be done up to 13+6 so you've got a bit of time. After that (so once you're in the 15th week) the placenta takes over providing all nutrition so the babies growth rate depends more on what you eat, which is why measurements and dating are less accurate.

shadowpuss - it's miserable, isn't it? I'm not quite bad enough to be HG, but that's because I'm keeping fluids down even though I'm horribly nauseous 24/7 and am throwing up more and more. I'm finding it so depressing!

squistle · 20/05/2010 11:29

Hello everyone,

Just found out I was pregnant three days ago. Had a scan this morning and I'm nine weeks gone. It's my first and it's all happened so quickly! Mind if I join in here?

kisses1973 · 21/05/2010 17:56

Hi All

Really sorry haven't been around for ages, but had my scan last Monday and it was amazing my little one was wriggling around like a little jumping bean, and my due date is official 4th December 2010, can't soo excited.

Hope everyone is well.

Hello all. Hope everyone is doing well.

Haven't been around as have been in the States and only got back yesterday. I now have a DH as opposed to a DHTB or fiance.

Everything seems to be in order baby-wise. DH loves that I am already developing a small bump and one of my friends in the States figured out I was pregnant before I'd even told her. She was very pleased for us and kept offering to come over in December to help out in stark contrast to my parents.

My parents were not at all supportive or congratulatory about the baby despite us being very happy about it. They never once said "Congratulations" and they had a go at me about my weight telling me that now would be a really good time to lose some (already posted on aibu so won't get into it here).

So anyway, DH and I are really glad to be home and I'm glad to be able to post on here and know I will get sensible and supportive feedback.

ticktockali · 25/05/2010 18:24

Hi all, congratulations to everyone on your bumps! It's lvely freading these happy messages as I've only really lurked on the recurrent m/c's threads.

japhrimel I know how you're feeling. I have had 3 recurrent m/c's but today I am 10+2 days and fingers crossed will be due on the 20th Decemeber.

Good luck to all x

ToriMarguerite · 29/05/2010 09:32

Hi everyone, I haven't posted for weeks - morning sickness has taken over my world. Life revolves around making sure I have food regularly, going to bed early, and trying hard to look like I'm still good at my job (when really I'm miles away in babyland). Commuting on the train is hell and coming home not much better since we've started some major building work for DCs arrival.

I was optimistic that sickness would ease off soon (I'm 12 wks) but just found out that all my sisters were sick for the whole 9 months...nooooooo!

dannox3 · 29/05/2010 17:19

Hello! Also due mid December. Will be my 4th - eldest DS will 8, his brother will be 7 and sis will be 4 so already passed the nappy and sleepless nights stage. In a bit of a panic to get back into it all, also family have not been very supportive. Trying to be positive but not so easy with so much negativity. Also HORRENDOUS morning (or should i say all day) sickness. Anyway, I'm happy to join the group!

Valbonne09 · 01/06/2010 15:13

Also due 6th of December with my first - it certainly is popular! Really hope I am not too late as conscious that xmas is not far off and being an early feb baby myself determind to avoid the joint present situation that relatives seem to think is okay if you have a birthday within 2 months either side of Christmas (it happened to my November brother too but my June brother loved the two events being 6 months apart).

Still being really sick every single day and really hoping this starts to fade soon. Had scan number 4 today and all looking well and good, great to see the baby so active kicking its arms and legs, amazing!

All the best to everyone

janski31 · 10/06/2010 16:33

Hi all I am due 12th Dec 2010 went for my dating scan last week and they told me baby has a thick nuchal fold 4.6 so have to go for another scan at 16 weeks. A little bit scared. I have felt so sick up until last week random smells used to knock me sick cant drink tea the thought of it makes me want to throw up and I have random hiccups one very hour or so! All my symptons have worn off now no sore boobs or anything havent put any weight on yet am nearly 14 weeks is that normal?

Hope your all doing ok this is my first baby apart from my little angel I lost in Jan missed miscarriage at 7-8 wks thought i was 13 weeks.
x

Lavitabella · 10/06/2010 16:43

It's here so please come and join us.

ticktockali, Tonimarguerite, dannox3 & Valbonne09 haven't seen you on there either so Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies and come and join the happy club

HobbitMama · 10/06/2010 19:40

Hi all,
Another newbie to add to the pot - have posted a wee bit on AIBU but not much elsewhere as of yet!
Am 13+0 today with DC4, just had my early scan and it went very well! Couldn't get the neck measurement though, so I have to ring up tomorrow to get another scan in the next week to try again!
AND, I guess because I'm quite high risk/on the older and larger side of things, I get scans at 28, 34 and 36 weeks! Wahey! So, all in all, a pretty good day!

SeoMum · 11/06/2010 12:06

Hi All
I'm new to the forum but my EDD is 26th of December - Boxing Day! Lol!

Glad to find other people in the same position as me I've only told close friends and family so far so seeing how everyone else is doing is great!

Congrats to everyone and look forward to getting to know you all better

Lavitabella · 11/06/2010 12:10
