Hi everyone...I'm new to Mumsnet and this is my first thread...very exciting!

I tested positive on Monday and think I am due on 3rd December 2010. I don't think anyone has started a December thread yet, so I thought I would get the ball rolling. Sorry if it's already on here somewhere!

This is my first pregnancy and I am so happy! I am trying not to dwell too much on what could go wrong (it's early days) and instead am focusing on how amazing, new and wonderful this feels!

I am still trying to work out what all the BFPs, POAS and the like mean...but I'm having fun trying!

Would be great to hear from you all. x

morning ladies.
EDD 6/12 dc2. I am beyond terrified as have had 5mc. This bfp was a total shock on Monday as we had more or less called it a day. So I am marking my place here and will try and travel hopefully with you all.

TheChangeSpiral · 14/04/2010 10:20

Good morning everyone

Thanks so much for your kind words yesterday and sorry I was a bit of a mess. I'm pleased to say that I've had no more bleeding and still feel very much pregnant so fingers crossed everything will be ok.

I've had some strange food things going on with me. For some reason my body won't let me eat potatoes or mushrooms - both of which I usually enjoy. Has anyone else had any aversions?

xxx

whirlygig · 14/04/2010 10:40

Hello and Congrats December Ladies. I'd like to join you also. I've been given a due date of 3/12 by my GP, but working from date of conception i reckon it's a couple of weeks later. Anyhow, will do a CB date check to see which way it swings.

I also mc last year; i see quite a few of us are in this position. Anyway,I'll be taking it easy with telling folk in RL this time round, and keep fingers doubly crossed.

Hopefully, this will be DC2.

Ive no aversions yet, but I've been craving avocadoes!

PB31 · 14/04/2010 12:17

Food aversions so far seem to be for cold food and hot drinks.

Completely off tea but loving ice cold juice and cola. Off the salads I was planning to have for lunches and work and more towards toasted sandwiches. Had to swap porridge for toast too, far too creamy in the morning.

I promise I will post about things other than food too at some point. I seem to be a bit obsessed with it at the moment!

JosiePosie · 14/04/2010 13:20

Hello everyone and congratulations!

I'm due mid December, I think. Did the test last week and seeing my GP tomorrow. Feeling dreadful, nauseous, exhausted, peeing what seems like every hour and terribly sore boobs. I'm 39 next week, and it's my first after years of wanting this so badly - daren't be excited yet...

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Rapunzel88 · 14/04/2010 14:34

Comtessa I understand how hard it is to tell a friend who is tcc. I'm still close to my nct group from DS1 and all of them have since had a second except for myself and a friend. I told her the other day that I was pg and she started to cry as she's the only one left. They were partly happy tears for me, but I felt SO bad. I really hope she gets a BFP soon so we can take the ride together.

Regarding food, I have gone off sweet stuff, which is SO unlike me. There are still lots of DS's Easter eggs in the cupboard which I normally would have 'helped' him finish off by now.

Have been feeling rough in the mornings, to be expected really.

Rapunzel88 · 14/04/2010 14:37

Sorry, me again. Just wanted to ask if anyone else has got a bit of a tummy yet? My fave jeans are really cutting in to me now, and I'm only 7 wks. It seems really early.
Perhaps I'm just getting tubby.
Or perhaps it's twins.

kisses1973 · 14/04/2010 15:00

Hi all, well the queeziness for me is getting worse been feeling it all morning yukky yukky.

Boobs have gone up a cup size already and are very very sore, have a bra on at the moment but think i'll be taking it off fairly shortly.

Am 7 weeks on Saturday and still very very nervous because of the miscarriage, my stomach has felt a little uncomfortable at times nothing severe though which I have read about and its just my body adjusting to the pregnancy.

Good news as well it would appear that the bf has finally come around and admitted last night he is happy that i'm pregnant woo hoo progress lets just see.

How's everyone else doing?

First midwife appointment on 27th April 2010 and can't wait.

Miffster · 14/04/2010 15:03

JosiePosie,I turned 39 in Feb and could have w
Contessa, really feel for you in your dilemma (and yr friend). I used to find it so hard to hear other women's happy news when I had been trying and trying and no BFP. Not sure what I'd do - if she mentioned/noticed, then not hide it, if she didn't, keep schtum I think.

JosiePosie I could have written exactly what you wrote about the peeing and sore knockers! Like you I have been trying for ages, am due mid Dec as well. Seeing GP this Friday. Not feeling sick yet though.

Eating huge amounts of horseradish sauce on roast beef. Still on my usual food - low GI high protein lots of veg -no bread, rice, spuds, cakes, biscuits, sugar in any form.

After 4 years of TTC am convinced that a low carb/high protein veg-based diet got me up duff. Blood sugar suddenly balanced, felt marvellous, energised, fertile, no cravings etc. Am loathe to give it up and go back to eating sugar and simple carbs. Hoping extra veg will be enough to see me through this pregnancy. Am I hopelessly optimistic?

Miffster · 14/04/2010 15:05

sorry , message got a bit jumbled there.

Miffster · 14/04/2010 15:09

and thanks for the help KittyKatzen!

shadowpuss · 14/04/2010 16:09

I'm feeling a bit sick, nothing to drastic, but getting a bit worse each day. I'm only 5 1/2 weeks, so I suppose it's only downhill from here. I've had a few twinges in my tummy, not severe just uncomfortable. They don't last very long - only a minute or so, but every time I get one I worry that something's wrong, even though I've read that it's normal and is just stretching. It's one thing to read a clinical description of something, but when you are actually experiencing it it's a bit more worrying, thinking "is that what they were describing??"
I'm seeing my GP on Friday, so she might be able to set my mind at rest a bit.

springbokdoc · 14/04/2010 22:51

Still haven't managed to register with a gp (which as a doc myself is pretty bad form) and gutted to find out that the electronic clearblue screens go blank after a few days! will have to go and get a proper one.

Also jealous of all the growing boobs - mine seem to be sore but staying resolutely the same size. But nausea seems to have kcked in even more - am trying not to think about it too much in case it gets a lot worse!!

Congrats to everyone else whose joined

comtessa · 15/04/2010 08:49

Thanks for all the advice re. my friend who is starting IVF. I was having dinner with her last night and it just seemed the right time so I told her. She was pleased that I'd told her - as we've only really told parents, my boss and one other close friend each and was saying how fantastic it would be if we were pregnant at the same time, go to classes together etc. So just madly hoping and praying for her now...

Oh, and is anyone else just feeling really awful? Have to go to work today as have deadlines but just want to go back to bed. (

Hope everyone's feeling better than me today! Not long til the weekend... xx

3babesfull · 15/04/2010 11:48

Feeling pretty dreadful, too, Comtessa but this is probably partly due to two children being sick everywhere last night and having to scrape it off carpets and bedding!

Rapunzel, my friend has just had twins and has told me that she felt really tired like I do.. I think that she is willing me to have twins too!

OnlyWantsOne · 15/04/2010 11:55

HERE is the December 2010 Antenatal thread for you ladies xx

crazykat · 15/04/2010 17:00

anyone else had cramping in their lower stomach? i'm starting to worry now, had it since bout sunday. i had similar with dc1 which turned out to be a UTI but it was much later - 20 somthing weeks.

PJen · 15/04/2010 17:37

Hi Crazykat not sure what UTI is... I had cramps wk 5. It was replaced by tender breasts in wk 6 and constant nausea now! I got very worried about the cramps but my GP said unless it is unbearable don't get scared... fingers crossed that they don't come back!

crazykat · 16/04/2010 08:53

Thanks PJen, the pain's easily bearable.I think I'm just bein a bit neurotic oversensitive coz this is the first time we've actually planned to have a baby and every little thing worries me.

A UTI is a urinary tract infection btw.

rosietoestoo · 16/04/2010 09:46

Hello there, would it be possible to join you all?

Found out last weekend (with first response) & due 24/12/10. Poor baby- I always thought I'd hate to be born around christmas as then people would buy you joined pressies & you're friends would be busy- ah well! This was our first try & totally didnt expect it to happen so soon. But very thankful indeed. & yes very nervous. But I guess I should just try & be positive about it all!

mrsmiu · 16/04/2010 09:56

ditsy pregnancy head already kicking in - i posted this in november by mistake to start off with!...

hello everyone
am a bit nervous about joining as am feeling super superstitious about something going wrong... which is why i figured it would be a good idea to reach out and say hello to you all.
My fiance and I weren't actually TTC so it came as a bit of a surprise but a really good one! We're both so excited. Off the scale. Have told our parents who are over the moon but plan to keep it quiet til 12 weeks.
I'm 6+1 i think and this is my first time. Am absolutely exhausted beyond belief and can't concentrate on anything. Feeling nauseous but not unbearable. And experiencing lots of sudden teary moments.
My tummy has been non-stop with weird stretching and general odd feelings for the last week.
I'm seeing the consultant obstetrician on Monday so am really looking forward to that!
Is anyone else having weird tummy stretchy feelings? It's so peculiar. Not really painful but relentless!
Take care everyone and look forward to hearing from you
xx

shadowpuss · 16/04/2010 09:58

rosietoestoo I know what you mean - my birthday is 17/12 and people have always given me combined birthday and christmas presents. I really hated it when I was a kid, and now I'm doing it to my own baby! Due 15/12, but will almost definitely be late, first babies often are. You never know...we could share a birthday!
