October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Hi, and congratulations FutureMum.
I tested positive yesterday, so probably due october as well. However this will be my second baby.

Here's hoping for a positive result for lucybarnes and healthy pregnancies for us all.
I can definately relate to the excitement and not being able to think about anything else! (am supposed to be working now..)

Hi mums to be!
My symptoms were: sore breasts that looked like a period was coming (but 2 weeks before a period was due); slightly queasy feeling in my stomach (which is getting a bit worse now, esp. when it's empty)and the ability to fall asleep for hours when watching telly from 8 pm (even watching half-interesting programmes). Also, no period, when they are usually SO regular. Lucy, I am going exactly through the same emotions, because this is my first baby and I only moved to this town about 2 years ago, so haven't got family or very close friends nearby.
I am getting a little bit worried that if the sickness gets worse it may give it away at work, but will try and worry about that when it gets there.
I still cannot believe it!!! : )

Hi,

I am quite new to posting here (as opposed to just nosing around), so not very sure, but have clicked on the Watch this thread bit and hopefully it'll work.
Yes, I am at work here too, multi-tasking with a funny brain is no fun!

Hello I am 4 weeks and due 7/10/10!!!!!! I am so excited and scared at the same time! My hubby is in Afghanistan until the end of March so I have to deal with the first 12 weeks without him

FutureMum · 29/01/2010 11:48

Sending you hugs LittleDonkin - March will come in no time and then you can be together. Plus he's thinking of you and you of him! : )

congratulation everyone.

JazzieJeff · 29/01/2010 18:22

OMG I just tested positive this afternoon and came online for some advice and found this page! I'm literally so shocked; this was our first try after coming off the pill and I thought we'd be trying for much longer than this. I feel so blessed; like it can't possibly true and I'll go to the doctors on Monday morning and I'll have (somehow) got the wrong end of the stick. But I guess being a week late and 2 positive tests probably hits the mark...
Is anyone else ridiculously thirsty, by the way, or is it just me???
Congratulations everyone! xx

I don't know lucy, I think maybe you can stay in touch with people by clicking on their name and then emailing them or something? I'm new here too, apart from just nosing around. It would be nice to stay in touch with a few people, if nothing else just to feel like I'm not on my own! I feel like I've got a million questions to ask and I don't know where to start, you know? I'm delighted, but also so scared that I might accidentally mess this up

JazzieJeff · 31/01/2010 14:23

Hey girls! Wow well looks like we've got a cute little group here already! Sorry if I can't get online all that regularly but it would be so helpful to get advice and at least know I'm not going insane. I bought one of those day by day pregnancy books yesterday and started flipping through... DON'T DO THIS IF YOU'RE HORMONAL. Seriously. I started crying in the bath because the pictures of it looked so weird and ugly, then I felt guilty, then just plain stupid... Then I started freaking out about the amount of organic food I haven't been eating, the fruit I definately haven't been washing and the 30 different vitamins I haven't been throwing down my neck at every available opportunity whilst quaffing vast amounts of pure, spring water. That I haven't been drinking. DH looks strained at best, seriously concerned that he's married a man woman and considering plastic surgery, and legal name change by deed poll and eloping to the Bahamas at worst.
By the way, what does everyone do for a living? xx

JazzieJeff · 31/01/2010 14:24

mad woman, not man woman... sorry xx

sophieandbelly · 31/01/2010 19:00

so what are everyones atcual d/ds then.
thinking that i need to book doc appointment altho they dont do anything other than give u folic acid nt sure u can book straight in with midwife at 8 weeks without seeing doc first??

so whos told and who is keeping the secret!!

we r keeping quiet for abit,we told everyone at 5 weeks last time, but somewho feel like i am lying about something, by not telling my mum!, doubt i will last til 3 months! (mainly cos dont want people ie mil going on at my daughter all the time o mummy have baby etc)! p.s any other pain in the a~rse mil s out there!!!

LittleDonkin · 31/01/2010 19:46

I am 4 weeks 3 days and I have told people as I see them! I told hubby, sister, mum and best friend within 10 minutes of positive test!!! I am crap at keeping stuff quiet!!! My due date will be the 7th October.

JazzieJeff · 31/01/2010 21:05

We're both telling our parents, but apart from that we're keeping it a secret until we know what's going on at the scan... Don't know how long my silence will last though, I feel like I might burst! Going to the docs this week, what actually happens when you go?

FutureMum · 01/02/2010 08:49

Just when I was coming around to the idea and feeling good, so-called morning sickness has struck me badly. More like around the clock sickness for me. Starts when I wake up and carries on until I fall asleep, stopping for half an hour after I eat my three meals (snacks don't seem to have this effect). Was fine until Friday lunchtime, then it's been bad, I'm off chocolate and soup, my traditional comfort foods. I am trying ginger, but so far, no joy. Also getting worried, was hoping not to have to tell work but I work in an open plan office with another 100 people and sit near the kitchen, with different people coming and going and preparing hot lunches for themselves, plus there are only 2 toilets in this floor, so when the sickness strikes later today, the secret is over.
I normally have very good health so am not used to feeling unwell. Husband says I look depressed and can't understand me.
Help!

o futuremum u poor thing, to have sickness already! god men have no idea, r u ment to have a huge smile on ur face while u r feeling like crap! doesnt mean ur not happy just hard to b like that when u feel so awful.

fingers crossed it doesnt last for to many weeks. x

jazz- the doc doesnt do much just works out ur due date, tells u when to book in with the midwife etc. gives u a precription for folic acid. i dont recall being weighed untill 8 weeks last time.

i am desperate to tell dont no y iam holding back this time, but something in me is saying it to early keep it to urself, may feel different next week.

my god my boobs r huge!!! and sore, poking out of my bar already, i went up to ff last time, end up a z at this rate!! hahaha

FutureMum · 01/02/2010 11:31

Thanks Sophie, my other half is wonderful but he has problems understanding things he hasn't experienced. I'm getting increasingly desperated by the hour, just feeling crap when my stomach is digesting or empty, also worried about the 2 trips we have booked before Easter (one short haul and one long haul) and hope am I going to cope with them. I want to enjoy the trips and get back to being my normal self, I do worry that if I spend months sick it won't be good for my relationship, but at the moment I cannot change feeling sick. Was thinking of calling to see the midwife or doctor for anti-sickness medication.

future try not to worry urself, its early ur hubby will get used to the experiance of u not feeling great (my parnet excellent but used to say things like well i dont no how u feel etc)

u may feel great again by easter, my yuk phase lasted between 7-11 weeks with first. and i went on holiday at 23 weeks.

it may be worth talking to midwife, it very unlucky to be feeling this bad this quick really feel for u.
i am hoping i have another 3 weeks or so b4 pure exhusted! its strange because wen someone who has never been preg says to me i am so tired i laugh to myself and think u have no idea!!!!!!

are smells turning ur stomach to??
