Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Hi everyone........congratulations to everyone!

please may i join your group? I got 2 positive test results 10 days ago after being late by nearly 2 weeks and so picked up a packet of the clearblue digitals and much to my surprise got a positive result. Bit of a shock really as i had been taking the pill but then it has hapenned to a few people i know and these things arent 100%!
So after typing my dates into numerous websites ive concluded that its safe to say im due around 1st October. Im just over 6 weeks now i believe.

Sorry i dont mean to sound so dull about it but im having a hard time with this all at the moment, i really want to be excited, even though this wasnt planned because i have always wanted to be a mum and even though im only 25 i was born to do it!

My Boyfriend is so shocked that he has said a whole host of hurtful things and is of the opinion that i should be getting rid of this baby, but to be honest ive made up my mind that im carrying on with the pregnancy. He is nearly 33 and we do live together (i moved 400 miles from my hometown to be with him and we've been together 3 years) and i cant actually believe how he has been. Anyway he has been away the last 5 days with work as is quite normal for him, its a hard life having to jet off to st lucia or rio etc to sit on a beach i can understand how hard its gonna be for him to cope with a baby and during this time ive written him a 12 page letter explaining how i feel and why and how if he doesnt want to be involved thats fine i will do this on my own. He comes back later on today (monday) and this letter will be waiting on the side for him to read, im gonna take myself out of the house so that he cant shout at me or watever.

So to help myself i decided to do what other pregnant women do and go on forums and try and get some friends online and a support network. I havnt had many symptoms really, the main things being sometimes i feel a little bit faint, particularly wen having a shower, ive gone off a lot of food and also tea and coffee i cant bear the thought of, i am loving prawn cocktail crisps and salt and vinegar crisps (i ate 4 packets this evening - i know thats bad but i just couldnt face anything else and need to eat something!) and i am drinking like a fish, cant get enough of diluting squash im maybe going through 5 pints of it a day! Also the really annoying thing the last few nights is i have been waking up at 4 or 5am and feeling sick/hungry and having to get a bowl of crunchy nut, i know im prob not sposed to eat that cos its got peanuts in it (argh im really not very good at all) and it takes me a few hours to get back to sleep again.

sorry i know i have rambled on and on but sometimes its easier if u share things?
also another thing im worrying about, in the middle of jan wen i didnt know i was pregnant i was taking sudafed for a cold and ibuprofen for a few days..............really hoping i havnt done any damage to the mini-egg?!

Thanks for taking the time to read this ladies

Lots of Love
xxxx

loobie17- congratulations on ur baby!!

dont worry about being young i had my first dd when i was 23, great age to have a baby!

i to was so ready, now 26 and expecting no 2.

iam sorry to hear it hasnt been as exciting time for u just yet, had u and ur man thought u would have children in future? (iam not defending him by the way) but it is prob just the shock, when theses 'suprises' happen to us girls our maternal instinct kicks in and u know u want ur baby this may just take bit longer for him.

its prob good u have had a week apart, time for u both to have a good think, if now isnt right for him at 33 will he ever b ready??

great idea about the letter, u can say how u feel without him jumping down ur throat, (dont these men no not to anger a preg woman!!) hahah

as far as feeling sick in morn etc, i also woke early feeling like i was on a boat! yuk, this baby is def going to be trouble!!! my dd hardly knew i was preg at this stage, last couple of days this one is making its self known! haha, try not to have shower to hot, that helps with faintness and dont worry about the painkillers etc, i had 3 girls nights out and got very very drunk!! it happends.

have u been for ur docs appointment, to book in with mid wife etc? and to get ur folic acid?

good luck for today i hope he has had a change of heart while hes been away,u will be a great mum xxx

JazzieJeff · 08/02/2010 10:07

Hiya loobie! Sorry to hear about your BF, but sophies right men can take a while whereas women start being a mum as soon as we find out don't we, really? Good idea about the letter, hopefully he will have had a change of heart. If not, well, you're better off finding out now than when the baby arrives. I'm sure it'll all work out for the best, good luck hun!
I woke up at like 4am absolutely starving as well, but too lazy to do anything about it LOL! I'm my own worst enemy!

Hello, I found out this morning that i am expecting baby#2 in October. Am so excited but also a little nervous. Have had a few pains high up... is this normal? I think it is ok as the uterus is quite low down at present.

I feel fine and only took the test as i was bored of waiting for AF (only cd34 and cycle normally around 32/35). I have severe endometriosis and endometriomas and was once told i would never conceive naturally so once again i have blown medical science, esp as DH has only 33% good sperm as he had a vasectomy reversed 14 years after having it done!! This was my 4 month on clomid as well.

Sorry to bore you!!

xx

Pinkali37 · 09/02/2010 19:44

Loobie just read your post. This is why MN is so great! You can share with people who are understanding. I'm sorry that you didn't get the right response from DP. I also have been taking nightnurse for a cold, have just come back from holiday and have been drinking like a fish and also fell over whilst skiing and have chipped my shoulder.. ALL whilst being blissfully unaware that i was pregnant. From my last experience they are strong little things. x

Good Luck to everyone and lots of sticky thoughts. xxx

Hello Everyone 'Expecting Oct. 2010 Babies'

It seems like there are quite a lot of us on here at pretty much the same stage

Maybe we should have a bit of a roll call to help keep track?

Well, how are people's 'symptoms' or 'lack of' going?

Over the last few days I've had some slight feelings of nausea, but it could just be psychological I'm also waking up early mornings with terrible sicky hunger pangs and feeling pretty bloated if I eat anything more than a small meal!

Sending loads of happy pregnancy vibes to everyone and roll on those 12 week scan dates to put our minds at rest

firsttimer78 · 11/02/2010 19:29

I'm due on 07/10/10 - finding it hard to concentrate on anything else! Sooooo tired and feel a bit nauseous but (crosses fingers, toes and anything else) not been sick yet! Dh not really getting the whole pregnancy thing tho - responds 'why?' when I say I'm tired/feeling sick...think he needs to do some reading!! We've told immediate family and a few of my friends know for the girly chats/support that only they can provide! Hope everyone else gets on okay and that those of you throwing up don't have it too much longer! x

Poppypuppy · 11/02/2010 20:02

Hello October group, I've been given 15th October as my due date. It's my first and it was a bit of a surprise - I'm 43 - and we'd made a decision not to have children. We're both really pleased, but keeping calm about the whole thing as, clearly, there are risks, going into a pregnancy with the first flush of youth a distant memory now.

My symptoms are - as well as 3 x BFPs, needing to pee a lot and feeling a bit like I have in the past when I've had cystitis, also sleep patterns not great, am waking up at 4.50 am every morning, including weekends. Also, not much of an appetite. Hope everyone is well and blooming nicely. It's great to find a group of people all at the same stage. Never appreciated before what a lot of worrying is involved! x

ugglyduckling · 11/02/2010 22:00

booking into midwife soon and a little nervous am coming up ten weeks i thaught you ahd to book in at 8 weeks but apparantly now things have changed in my area you have to wait till ten weeks for your 1st check and then 12 week scan. roll on, roll on lol am desperate to know everythings ok, am driving myself mad

splatt · 12/02/2010 00:10

Hello all, I too am due October, I thought 13th but calculator on here says 11th. Well what's 2 days!
Very nervous though as miscarried my first pregnancy at 7 weeks in December. May I cautiously suggest you tell at least one very close friend or family member (in addition to your partener). I really needed my friend's support when I miscarried and hadn't told her before hand. This time I will tell her early (tomorrow in fact).
Been to doctor but was told didn't do early scans for previous miscarriage so just holding breath.
Oh and off on holiday to St. Lucia all inc (perfect timing....NOT!) next Sunday. Pray I'm not sick on the plane!!!!

JazzieJeff · 12/02/2010 10:32

ugglyduckling; the same thing happened to me! I tried to book in for an 8 week appointment but they said they didn't do it anymore and it's now 10 weeks. I wonder why? I just want to know that everything's ok.
splatt; so sorry to hear about your mc; I ended up telling my parents just so I'd have a bit of support either way. Sometimes it feels like no one (doctor - wise) really wants to know until you're 12 weeks, which is so hard because to me it's my whole world at the moment!
Sticky vibes to everyone, only a few weeks till our scans!

BalhamM2B · 12/02/2010 12:23

Hi, I've just (about half an hour ago) tested positive. I am over the moon, the very scared as it's so early so don't want to get too excited. Good luck everyone xxx

Pinkali37 · 12/02/2010 15:19

Hello everyone.

I'm 5 weeks and am experiencing no symptoms at all (i can't remember when the boobs start to hurt or nausea starts) HELP?

ellabella2 · 12/02/2010 15:40

PinkAli from the reading I've done it seems that there is no set time when symptoms start to appear For some people it happens almost as soon they are pregnant i.e. 3/4 weeks, others start to get symptoms at around 6/8 weeks while others get barely any symptoms at all.

This whole 'symptoms' thing is driving me mad. I am 5 weeks and 5 days and have not really got any symptoms yet. It's mad I know but I'm desperate for something, any evidence to show that things are happening and that I am definitely pregnant

sophieandbelly · 12/02/2010 16:07

BalhamM2B · 12/02/2010 16:21

Agh, this is so exciting but so scary!? I know nothing- for, example when do I need to see a doctor? I am also getting paranoid, feeling every tiny twinge in my body and worrying...First timer obviously? Am I cracking up !!? I wish I could speak to my Mum, but I want to tell her in person when I see her next week, and even then don't want to get her excited at this early stage. xxx

sophieandbelly · 12/02/2010 20:47

BalhamM2B... you need to book a doc appiontment they can then register u as preg give u ur folic acid precription and tell u what week to book mid wife.

i still am getting period like cramps, so dont worry to much, the baby is inplanting (think thats wot its called)

do u no ur due date??

ugglyduckling · 12/02/2010 20:57

ok so has anyone noticed a small bump yet? im 7weeks i think and i dont think i was this big with my 1st untill about 20weeks. its making me feel a little better seemings no health proffessional i.e midwife/doctor will entertain seeing me to 'confirm' my pregnancey till im ten weeks, this is really starting to anoy me if you cant tell lol. i just want someone elce to say yes your pregnant just so it makes it real.
Balham- try not to worry i know every twinge seems scary but alot of changes are going on get to see your doc/midwife as soon as they will alow honey. good luck.
Sophieandbelly-do you ahve your due date yet?
its so exiting to have so many of us on this page goodluck for everyone XX

BalhamM2B · 13/02/2010 12:08

Thanks Sophie. I've booked a doc appointment for next week now! I think my due date will be 14th October..!

featherblue · 13/02/2010 13:14

Hi there, may I join in? I just got my BFP yesterday at 12DPO. The due date calculator says my due date is Oct 21st!

My husband and I have been married for six years. We're both 30, and this will be our first baby. We're very very excited, but a bit nervous as we didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I have hypothyroidism and thought it would affect TTC.

I don't really have many symptoms yet except for a little heartburn last night and occasional cramps. Oh and vivid dreams. It doesn't really feel 'real' yet, but I think it will once I miss my AF Monday.

Anyway, lovely to meet everyone!

ellabella2 · 13/02/2010 17:11
