October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Hi everyone I am due at the beginning of October too very excited but a bit nervous. Wondered if anyone else was having trouble sleeping? I keep waking up really early and not being able to get back to sleep. This is my first pregnancy so don't really know what to expect!

bloomingbex · 04/02/2010 13:14

Hi hatto. I am having trouble sleeping too. Keep waking up in the middle of the night and then again early in the morning. Very annoying as I love my sleep, although I guess I'd better get used to waking in the night

I read somewhere that all the progesterone your body produces during early pg can play havoc with your sleep. Apparantly as the levels of progesterone settle we should start sleeping again. I'm just crossing my fingers it doesn't last too long

hatto · 04/02/2010 14:03

Hi bex yes that's exactly the same as me so I haven't just developed coincidental insomnia! Oh well good to know it should settle down after awhile.

JazzieJeff · 04/02/2010 14:36

Hi hatto, welcome and congrats! What is your due date? Sorry you're having trouble sleeping, I'm exactly the opposite and very seriously considering taking a nap at my desk at work... camomile and honey tea is good for insomnia though, I hear...
Sophie, hope your sickness freeness lasts!
Xxx

ellabella2 · 04/02/2010 18:18

Hi everyone,

Can I join you all please? I got my BFP on Friday 29th January and my due date should be about October 11th

It doesn't feel at all real yet. This is my first pregnancy (conceived through donor IUI)and now that my life long dream is reality it won't sink in . I havn't had any symptoms yet, so feeling so 'normal' is really weird. I don't feel 'pregnant', whatever that is meant to feel like.

For those that have done this before; when did you start to get symptoms and what were they?

It's great to have found people at exactly the same stage as as me

Zapostrophe; hi {grin] hope you are feeling well.
Sophie; be honest you've been looking on the name page and been having serious thoughts about calling it Gucci

when i had my dd i can only describe early preg as haing a two month long hangover!!! and the tierdness is indiscribable, i could be in mid conversation and forget what i was saying and fall into deep sleep!

but i was one of the lucky ones, i hasnt hit me yet but then wasnt expecting it to not even 5 weeks yet, last time started at 7-8 wks. hope ur all feeling well.

p.s my sis went thro her whole preg with out one health complaint no sickness no heart burn. nothing so dnt be put off x

SandraSM · 04/02/2010 21:30

Hello. Have just found out I'm pregnant and am finding it weird not telling people when have such big news (except other half of course). Internet tells me that due date is 13/10 so thought I'd post. Have absolutely no symptoms except missed pregnancy so relief to hear others are same. Congrats everyone - hope it goes well for all.

hugebelly · 04/02/2010 21:36

Congratulations everyone!

I'm due 7th Oct with number 2. Had a 12 week miscarriage last year, so really got my fingers crossed for this one.

Sandramac · 04/02/2010 21:43

Oops - obviously meant missed period - maybe getting words wrong is first symptom....

Orangewood · 04/02/2010 23:34

Hi Everyone, I just found out I was pregnant two days ago with our first, which is all so exciting! I've told my parents but going to wait to tell everyone else which will probably just about kill me. I'm a terrible liar so I just hope I can keep it up!

lucybarnes sending you lots of good vibes for next time round.

Orangewood it is sooooo hard not telling everyone I totally agree. I don't think I'll hold out until 12 weeks.

Sandramac JazzieJeff sophieandbelly it does seem reassuring that most people don't really have any symptoms yet. I think I must have expected an instant small bump and morning sickness as soon as I saw that BFP

hugebelly massive fingers crossed for you.

Zaprostrophe welcome on board.

I'm going to be 5 weeks pregnant on my birthday another dream come true

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 05/02/2010 17:06

Hi everyone... can I join!!

Just got several BFP's I can't quite believe it actually... feels like a dream! Can't concentrate on anything and just keep walking around my house :p

Should be due around october 15th!!

ellabella2 · 05/02/2010 17:41

That's fantastic news anythingwithagiraffeonit

It does feel so surreal doesn't it. I got my BFP exactly one week ago and it still doesn't feel real!

JazzieJeff · 05/02/2010 18:20

So sorry to hear you're off the thread Lucy; sending lots of baby dust your way
SandraSM, hugebelly and anything; congratulations! Sending you sticky vibes
Ella; I got my BFP a week ago today as well; when are you due again?

ALH28 · 05/02/2010 19:28

Hello ladies,

Hope you're all keeping well?

So, here I am, got my BFP yesterday after having a MC on New Years Eve (of all days!!).

Am a little apprehensive, haven't told anyone yet as was only 6 weeks last time.

I have no idea really how far I am as haven't had AF since the MC (silly not to wait I know!).

Clearblue tells me I'm 2-3 weeks, so I'm guessing I am 4-5 weeks by what should have been LMP, which would give me an Oct EDD.

I hope this one sticks............

Amy X

JazzieJeff · 06/02/2010 12:26

ALH28 (Amy) - Good luck with your pregnancy; so sorry to hear about your mc on New Year, how awful and traumatic for you Those digital clearblue tests are awesome aren't they though?!
Sophie - Just thought I'd let you know I told my parents this morning about pregnancy and after the initial OMG thing they were totally fine, you were right. In fact, my Dad was better than my Mum; he was there shaking DH's hand, offering us cash and asking if he could have a scan picture for his wallet! I'm still numb with shock! Thanks for the reassurance though, I kept thinking back to it all morning before I told them and it really helped knowing other people have been through it too. I wanted to tell them before 12 weeks because I wanted them to feel involved and to have time to get their heads around it.
Stickies!

ellabella2 · 06/02/2010 19:48

ALH wishing you loads of sticky vibes for a successful pregnancy this time. What a dreadful time to have to go through such a difficult experience. HOpefully 2010 is going to be your good luck year.

JazzieJeff I've worked out that my due date will be October 11th. The first day of my last AF was 4th January and I can be very accurate about when I conceived as it was via IUI, which was on 15th January
I am new to all this though so does that sound right? When is your EDD?

Also, when should you contact your GP to start arranging first midwife appointments etc?

As I had fertility treatment I have a scan booked in with my clinic at 6 1/2 weeks. If all is well then they will hand me over to my GP. But I'm wondering whether I should contact my GP in the mean time anyway.

ugglyduckling · 06/02/2010 22:12
