i know a shelby and a Taomi
theres a boy i know called Tegan, is that unusual?
My boys have quite traditional names.

collision · 25/06/2005 14:13

House of Elliott girls were called Beatrice and Evangeline. I love Evie but it would not have gone with our surname and I have 2 boys!!

I love threads about names.

Friends of mine have Livia, Rafferty and Cosmo. I know of a Hector and a Walter Xavier which is too cruel for my liking.

My nephew is Henry which is unusual. My boys are Max and Joshua and I love both names. Would have had Madeleine and Annabel if they were girls.

wheresmyfroggy · 25/06/2005 14:16

Janh · 25/06/2005 14:39

Vanessa Feltz has a Saskia - hers is over 20 I think. Her other is Allegra.

I came across a tiny Irish boy called Cillian on holiday last month (hard C), never heard of it before but this week have seen Cillian Murphy in ads for the new Batman movie - am expecting to spot a 3rd any time now

(His sisters are Sile (Sheila?) and Orla)

maretta · 25/06/2005 14:43

Try here . It tells youif names are on the up.

Saskia has gone from No. 562 in 2003 to No 428 in 2004 so is definitely getting more popular. Not surprising, it's a pretty name.

wheresmyfroggy · 25/06/2005 14:45

Thanks that is a good site.

Miaou · 25/06/2005 14:46

dd1 is Caitlin, dd2 is Eilish (pronounced eye-lish). dd2 is named after a siamese twin from Ireland who would be about 12 or 13 now I think. We like Gaelic names.

jampots · 25/06/2005 14:46

ive just typed in my dd's name "eleanor" and found

Your name, Eleanor, is in position number 2044 in our 2004 list.

Last year it was in position number 1395

Your name has dropped 649 places since last year

thing is, I had accidentally got "boys" highlighted. Do people call their boys Eleanor?

Janh · 25/06/2005 14:46

Oh, I remember Eilish and her sister, Miaou - was it Katie? There was a whole series about them. Very sad. Lovely family.

Pinotmum · 25/06/2005 14:47

I work in a Pre-school and we have loads of unusual names. The names I like are Kavan (boy), Piper (girl), Dashiel (Boy). Some of the others there though just sound made up imho.

MrsGordonRamsay · 25/06/2005 14:48

Oh bum, DS's name has moved up 26 places in a year, ah well, it is well down in the 200's {sigh of relief}

dinny · 25/06/2005 14:49

I really like the name Elvie.

I have a dear friend whose name I love - Jessamy.

Janh · 25/06/2005 14:49

Just googled - it was Katie - and Eilish will be 16 now - doesn't time fly!

Miaou · 25/06/2005 14:52

Beat me to it Janh - wow time does fly doesn't it? She's the only other Eilish I have come across who pronounces it the same - all the other Eilishes I have come across (about three!) are pronounced Ay-lish.

Nightynight · 25/06/2005 15:04

Ive just tried the bounty site - brilliant! my dd1 is at 37 thousand and something, and my other three arent even in there!

lou33 · 25/06/2005 15:08

HappyHuggy · 25/06/2005 15:10
