Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

xxx

Hi Kate
Hope you get your results today - I was told mine would be 2 weeks, but it was closer to 3.5 - the hospital had warned me to expect delays due to the postal strike....anyway, I'm sure if you call, they'll be able to help.

I finally got my scan date - 18th Dec - so looking forward to seeing the baby before Christmas....

wibblela · 11/11/2009 16:18

Hi,

Just seen this thread

My EDD is 13 May 2010, am quite excited GP says I am no spring chicken as well - am 36.

I also have Multiple Sclerosis, Insulin Resistance and PCOS. The MW has written an essay about my medical history in my notes

DH and I are so happy about our first baby. I am glad to hear about other mums at the same stage as me

first1 · 11/11/2009 18:11

How is everyone getting on? Nice bumps showing yet?! I had a rubbish day. I fainted in Sainsburys It scared me soo much, came round within seconds thanks to a big yorkie bar and kindness from the staff there and felt completely better like nothing had happened after about 15minutes. Had few dizzy spells over the past few weeks but that scared me stiff. My pregnancy bible says a lot of women get dizziness/fainting but just wonderng if any of you lovely ladies being at a similar stage to me have experienced this? 13+2 today

mustbemadno3 · 11/11/2009 22:00

wibbela hope i spelt that nickname right!!
Welcome to the thread. Nice to hear you 36 Im 35 but will be just short of 36 by the time this 1 arrives. Sorry to hear you have mms etc. Must be difficult but at least you hhave something nice to look forward too. My dh has ms too. What is you edd?

mustbemadno3 · 11/11/2009 22:02

sorry about the spelling mistakes this keyboard is missing a few keys and they also get stuck....very annoying!

wibblela · 11/11/2009 22:33

mustbemadno3 EDD is 13/5/10 - can't come soon enough, am only just in 2nd Trimester and already want to have baby! Another 26 weeks of this waiting is torture for someone with no patience Am coping with MS, been a bit troublesome getting used to no meds but am getting used to it. Am very blessed that DH is FT carer - here to make sure I am alright . Had my standard blood tests 2 weeks ago, and haven't heard anything, so I am thinking that no news is good news (c: I was slightly concerned about gestational diabetes, given that I already have an insulin resistance. When's your EDD? Have you had a date for your 20 week scan? Mine's booked for early Jan when I'm 21 weeks gone so as to make sure I don't have to have such a full bladder - coz of MS I have continence issues.

first1 sorry to hear about the fainting episode - not nice at all, at least you were somewhere people could look after you Am jealous about the Yorkie I had a severe lack of balance yesterday evening, but I think that was just the MS letting me know it was still there

KateM77 · 12/11/2009 19:19

Hi PanicMode I called the hospital yesterday to be told they don't send results in the post and that I'd have to wait until 16 week midwife appointment to get the results.

Then got home today to find a letter with the results! Chance of Down's is less than 1 in 50,000 so I'm really relieved

first1 sorry to hear about the fainting. I've felt faint since quite early on but haven't actually fainted yet fortunately...have had to sit on the floor of the train to work a few times though so as to avoid it!

PanicMode · 12/11/2009 21:46

Great news about your results KateM77 - must be a big relief.

first1 - so sorry to hear you fainted but glad you were so well looked after. I have had dizzy spells, but touch wood haven't yet fainted......

And congratulations wibbela - welcome to the thread. I'm also 36 (but this is my 4th (eek!)).

Hope that everyone else is feeling well and getting on ok.

first1 · 13/11/2009 09:24

Thank you everyone! Goodbye 1st trimester and morning sickness, hello 2nd tri and a whole new list of lovely symptoms to contend with! Roll on 31st Dec I'm soo deperate to know whether this is a pink or blue baby!

katem77 great news on the results!

congrats and welcome to the thread wibbela!

Oldi · 14/11/2009 12:54

Hello everyone, just into 2nd trimester and had first scan on Monday, which was a great experience (though painful, with very full bladder). Had blood taken for downs syndrome test - am hoping for a great result like KateM77.

Wibblela - like you I can't believe how much longer we all have to wait, obviously would rather wait than have a premature birth but its so hard! Can't wait to meet the baby.

Good luck everyone - I'll keep udating on here as its nice to keep up with other people at the same stage as me.

mustbemadno3 · 14/11/2009 18:33

wibbela hi my edd is 12.05 so we just a day out. My scan is 23rd Dec so really glad its just before christmas. Dont think I could wait until Jan! Been thinking about paying for 1 of those 3d scans. They were not avaliable when I had my other 2c, so debating wether to have 1. I dont want to spoil the surprise of what the baby would look like, but I am desperate to know what sex it is. How bout you?
Are you diabetic as well then, couldnt work out from your message?

wibblela · 15/11/2009 15:25

mustbemadno3 Nope not diabetic, but they say that Insulin resistance is a pre-cursor to it! Interesting to hear what the MW has to say when I see her on Tuesday - going to hear DC's heartbeat Probably going to talk to me about a GTT - pre-pregnancy BMI indicated I should.

We have decided to wait till birth to find out the sex, BIL has said that finding out at scan is like opening Christmas presents in November However I am so impatient Going to be strong though, and not going to find out. DH and I have had theories that DC would be a girl however many people have said that it would be a boy!!! Mind you, don't care what sex it is

What do you want?

Oldi You are right - rather go full time than have a prem baby! Want to feel it move already though

Has anybody else felt DC move?

newmomma · 15/11/2009 20:39

hi ladies,
what a crappy weekend.
spent yesterday evening in hospital with bleeding and cramping and am having to wait until tomorrow to have a scan to find out whats going on. thankfully the bleeding has stopped but the pain hasn't gone away and i'm feeling fairly negative about things. i never had any bleeding whatsoever with my first and i just am not holding out much hope.

i almost don't want to go to bed tonight as i'm not sure i want tomorrow to come around.

i can't believe we've only just told everybody about this pregnancy to have this happen. the doc at the hospital said i'd be very unlucky to have any problems in the middle trimester but problems still do happen don't they?

anyway - i'll let you know how things pan out tomorrow.

:-(

big hugs coming your way newmomma. It must be so terrifying for you but do your best to stay as calm as possible. I'm sure docs right, 2nd trimester is unlikely for any hiccups to occur. You must be about 14weeks now? Keep us posted hunny. Thinking of you xx

PanicMode · 16/11/2009 13:31

newmomma so sorry to hear about your scary weekend - hope your scan today is reassuring.

wibbela I've felt movement with this one (tho tis my fourth!), but I am a bit concerned as I've felt it far less and far later than I did with #2 and #3 - probably because my stomach muscles are shot to pieces!! With my first, I didn't get a definite kick until 18 weeks, but had felt 'flutterings' from about 14 weeks.

I now have a scan date of 18th Dec, so am looking forward to seeing the baby. And we're going to break with tradition and find out what we're having (if we can) but we're not going to tell anyone once we know. I'm still struggling with bonding and wanting this baby so I think that if I know what it is, I can start to feel a bit more connected.

newmomma · 16/11/2009 16:50

thanks ladies
didn't have a scan in the end - just heard the heartbeat. all strong so no more worries thank god.
that was one of the most stressful weekends i have ever endured. never having experienced bleeding in pregnancy before it is terrifying. but the lovely doc i saw said it could be one of several things and that the pain i'm experiencing is probably separate to the bleeding. bad news is that the pain could last until 18 weeks. maybe longer.
but at least babies safe and well and i can try and get soem sleep tonight!
thanks for you kind words!

OP posts:
mustbemadno3 · 16/11/2009 18:11

wibbela Yes if I can we are def going to find out what it is, I am desperate to know. I didnt find out with my other 2, but I really want to know this time.

everyone Hows ya luck? Yesterday I accidently ended up talking to a clairvoyant who told me I had 2 children with 1 on the way. He also told me to stay away from computer screens. Guess what happened when I got home??? I trod on the computer wire and the laptop bounced up and smashed me in the face. I put my teeth through my bottom lip and cut open my top lip. Blood everywhere, ended up down a n e with dh. I couldnt actually speak for the swelling and blood so my dh had to explain how I did it. Im sure they thought he had beaten me up. Bet I will be getting a call from domestic violence soon.
LOL

first1 · 17/11/2009 16:00

mustbemadno3 OMG! How's the lip?! I'm sure you've welded that wire firmly down now?!

wibbela Yup, DH and I are both desperate to know even though its DC1. Find out on 31st Dec but it feels like a lifetime away!

everyone Can I just have a moan please about my blooming tummy! They'll be about 3-4 days when I cant go and then suddenly it feels as if Im giving birth! Then I'll have a day or 2 of going all the friggin time! Please someone give me a magic cure to resume regularity! Sorry for the TMI!

wibblela · 17/11/2009 18:08

first1 I am with you - blooming guts!!!! Has anyone got any tips? Sister (who is student midwife) said that elevating feet whilst on the loo can help you go, as can rocking back and forth, helps everything down she says (again sorry for tmi!) Those methods work but they are still after the fact! I have read that more fibre in diet and drinking more water helps, however I think they help too much if you catch my drift!

mustbemadno3 How you doing? Are your lips still swollen? Did you get a call from DV? Did you have stitches?

everyone went to see MW today with DH for what they call a reassurance visit and heard DC's heartbeat - it was so good to hear it (c: Also had BP taken which was lower than before and they were pleased with it - 120/78.

How are people doing?

FirstTimeTwinsOoer · 18/11/2009 00:45

Hi All,

Can i join this thread? (I'm fairly new to MN).

I'm due 23rd May with non ID TWINS and am now the size of a small horse - I've been in mat wear since my 9th week - so had to tell everyone early as I was huge even then... just couldn't hide the nuclear bunker.

It's my first pg and it is our 2nd go at IVF.
As I've known I've been pg literally from day 1 since embryo trans, it feels like I have been pregnant for most of the 21st century. How can I be fed up already with so long to go?!

I've been soooo worried and anxious all the way through and even at 13+2 today, I've had 5 scans so far.
I'd probably have 1 a fortnight if I could. Time to chill out a little me thinks.

It's great so many of you are feeling more reassured now as the scans happen.

(I was going to respond to ur messages but have previewed my message and now can't see text and can't remember any names - i have serious pregnancy brain issues - plese accept my apologies, I don't mean to be rude)

PanicMode · 18/11/2009 09:39

Welcome firsttimetwins and congratulations!! I can imagine that your first trimeseter must have felt even longer than it has for the rest of us!!

mustbemadno3 hope you are recovering and that you haven't been contacted by the DV unit!! It sounds horrid - but confirms what I've always thought about the dangers of clairvoyants....

hope everyone else is well - I'm just impatiently waiting for my next scan on the 18th December - having my second MW appointment on Friday so hopefully I will get to hear the HB - this baby is very quiet compared to my other three - and I'm also having my SF jab. DH is having his snip tomorrow (finally - if he'd had it when he said, I wouldn't be in this mess in the first place ) - so it's a busy old week!!

wibblela · 19/11/2009 09:06

PanicMode Busy week indeed!!! Hope all goes well, bet you're looking forward to hearing HB - I know I was

Congrats firsttimetwins You are welcome to this thread, don't worry about pregnancy brain issues, I'm sure everyone is suffering with them! Although I have MS as well, and my brain has always been foggy DH is trying to make me think, I hope I have made progress

first1 · 19/11/2009 19:20

hi firstimetwins Congrats that's great news!

Glad to hear you're goin for the jab panicmode, I'm having mine on Monday along with the seasonal jab. Just want them over and done with now!

everyone Is anyone being as obsessive as me about counting down already?! Every Monday when I move a week along gets a big fat tick in my diary! Surely this is wayyy too early for me to be doing this! Still, 14+3 today!

mustbemadno3 · 21/11/2009 16:35

panicmode and wibbela iam fine now thanks, they couldnt stitch as it was on my lip and inside my mouth. Although I have a nice scar now on my lip!! No calls from DV!!

If you need to go I suggest bran flakes or porridge n honey and plenty of fresh orange juice.

first1 I am counting down too. Its driving me mad. Had my 2nd mw apt friday, heard the heartbeat which was lovely. But my sickness has come back this week, its no way near as bad but its def there.
I feel sooo fat, my bump is huge and quite hard now. I havent been gym in 2 weeks as Ive had bad chest and been in abit of pain with my mouth!!!
everyone Hope you are all feeling well?
