Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

oh it seems today was nuchal day!! sounds like a rather productive weekend mustbemadno3! how old is your son? your nucal was 9mm?? or was that just a typo?

first1 · 02/11/2009 17:27

just reread your message and saw your son is 12 sorry. That is a rather horrendous time to realise your parents are at it!

Vicky204 · 03/11/2009 08:33

Hi all

I've not been on for a while, waiting for scan and just come back from a two week holiday in India. Great holiday but was difficult trying to make sure I didn't eat/drink anything that put me at risk.

I've got my first scan tomorrow and am really nervous, just got a feeling that it won't go well. As except for sore boobs and a small bump I've not had any normal symptoms, no sickness, metallic taste in mouth, no extreme tiredness (although I've always been tired so probably wouldn't notice the difference)

Hearing the stories about those that went and then found no heartbeat has just made the nerves worse. Did anyone else have these feelings? This is my first so guess I'm just extra worried as I've never done it before and don't know what to expect. Scan is tomorrow so guess all will be revealed then. At the moment they've given me a date on 17th May also, but will get more accurate date if all is well (god willing) tomorrow!

Congrats to everyone who is happily expecting and my thoughts are with those that are having a difficult time.

Big hugs

Vicky

PanicMode · 03/11/2009 12:41

Best of luck tomorrow Vicky - it's totally normal to be worried and panicking - I have done every time - and this is my fourth!

Hope that it all goes well - let us know how you get on

KateM77 · 03/11/2009 21:04

Good luck Vicky. I had exactly the same worries before my scan last week, and all was absolutely fine Let us know how it goes

Jennylee · 03/11/2009 21:20

Had my scan today was very afraid because of all the sad scans where things went wrong and it had happened to my friend aswell. But everything is fine I'm 13 +3 weeks and due on the 8th which is exactly as I thought.
dh and ds1 who is 10 were there to see it dd was asleep in her buggy.

the scan woman said she will tell us the gender at my 18 week scan so that was good as last time 2 years ago we had to pay privately to find out which cost £75 quid.

I was crying with relief that there was really a baby there.

On another note, I got a Marco sky l tandem buggy second hand for 15 quid, took the covers off washed them, it look great. Problem is I'm under 5 foot and the handles are the highest I have ever experienced. Will need to test drive it with dd this week to see if I can even push the thing, perhaps not a bargain at all.

Vicky204 · 04/11/2009 16:14

Hi there

Well thanks for all the words of comfort, just got back from scan and everything is absolutely fine. It was asleep but once they woke it up it wouldn't stop moving, could see all it's tiny fingers and toes, as it kicked and waved, then kept stretching and could see it arching it's back.

New due date is 15th May

Best thing I've ever seen and can't stop smiling! Now just to tell the parents!!!

Thanks to everyone for kind words

Lots of love

Vicky

mustbemadno3 · 04/11/2009 18:56

first1 think it was 9mm but, i just know he said 9 and would be worried if it was over 47, or something like that, Im not very good with numbers!
Yes ds1 had sex education before summer holidays, so hes seen childbirth (which yes they do show in school!) Obsurd as I cant even watch a childbirth dvd! So hes aware of how babies are made, but he never thought we actually did it!! God knows where he thinks he comes from then!
How are you feeling...re symptoms? (sckness etc).

first1 · 04/11/2009 19:08

mustbemadno3 oh bless him! he came from the stork obviously! I'm fine thanks hun how you doing? Sickness has pretty much gone though still getting random episodes. Got my anomoly scan on 31st December when I'll be 20+3. Is that late because I've heard of a lot of women having theirs at around 18weeks

KateM77 · 04/11/2009 19:26

first1 my anomaly scan is 21st Dec when I'll be 20+2. I thought 20 weeks was fairly normal

Glad to hear all is well Vicky and Jennylee - 8th is same due date as me

mustbemadno3 · 04/11/2009 22:31

first1 If I knew what a anomaly scan was I'd b able to tell you!!! Take it means the detailed scan? Mines 23rd Dec and Ill be 20 something weeks (told you I was crap with numbers!). Dont think its late anything from 18 -21 weeks. Its just the waiting!
Yeah my sickness almost gone, tend to feel sick when I get into bed, but thats usually because Im still reeling from working, cooking, washing up, ironing etc and DH doing SOD all!!! Boobs are still killing, are yours? But I cant believe I have put a whole stone on. Yet I still fit in my jeans?? (well having to let them out half way through the day!) Im still going gym, running etc. Mind you if I carry on piling it on at this rate I wont be able to walk let alone run!! Please please tell me somebody else out there has put that amount of weight on!! I really dont eat that much....and I dont drink ...anymore! Whats going on?

first1 · 05/11/2009 06:48

Thanks KateM77 You can tell me what to expect!

mustbemadno3 Anomoly is the same as detailed, think they just give it a different name in different parts of the country. Sore boobs YES! There have been times where Ive had to peek in my bra to check they havent exploded! Im sure weight gain isfine.I was worried for only putting on 3pounds but just shows how different we all are

jester68 · 05/11/2009 10:26

Hi all!

I had my official scan yesterday which has given me the due date of 31st may!

I am now 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Got some great pictures and could see a strong heartbeat and baby's little arms and legs waving around.

Had all my bloods as well ,so awaiting results now.

This is my second child, and they will be 4 years apart.

Next scan due around 11th January and cant wait :O

PanicMode · 05/11/2009 13:07

Great news after all the positive scans...

I have just had my combined results back - I got 1:9500 as my risk, which considering I'm 36, I wasn't expecting. I've never had such a positive ratio - all of my others were around 1:2000 or something.

I still haven't had a date for my anomaly scan - but the post is so messed up it's probably on its way - I'm 15 weeks tomorrow so I guess that I will have it just before Christmas.

I am no longer feeling sick - hurrah - but have horrendous restless legs already - nightmare!

first1 · 05/11/2009 16:19

Great news panicmode Just got my nuchal results too, got 1 in 26,000! Phew what a relief hey!

KateM77 · 05/11/2009 20:02

Still haven't had my nuchal results. Post is crap at the moment! Hoping all is OK though, measurement on scan was 1.2mm

first1 · 07/11/2009 18:00

1.2mm is very encouraging katem77 I hope everyone elses nuchal/combined tests have been positive.

Now I know there are LOADS of threads on this, but just wondering all your decisions on whether to have the SF vaccine as we're all at very similar stages, and they say the stage of pregnancy you have the vaccine is important.

I'm asthmatic too so should really be having it but very sceptical! I've got an appointment for the vaccine just incase on 23rd Nov when I'll be 15weeks. Hmm what are you all doing?!

newmomma · 08/11/2009 10:29

nuchal results came through - 1:5700 which I'm pleased with.
the results were 1:2600 with my ds1 so happy its a better result considering i'm a bit older this time round.
so - we're going public! finally!

i'm not sure i'm going to pay much attention to their dates as i know exactly when i fell pg and ds1 supposedly came 2 weeks early according to dating scan. think maybe my babies just start off small and then catch up later coz there was no way he was 2 wks early at 8lbs1/2oz and completely clean. plus i'm starting to show already. proper hard tummy not just all the pies i've been consuming!!

great news of all the other positive nuchal results! not sure when my 20wk scan is - dec sometime from memory. can't wait to find out the colour!!

mustbemadno3 · 08/11/2009 14:02

Hi all, Got my screening results back too. Came back 1 in 6100 so feel pleased with those results considering age related results were 1 in 360. Hope you all feeling well? I did 6 mile walk for 4th time this week and still im piling the 11bs on? Am I abnormal?

KateM77 · 09/11/2009 19:04

Two weeks since scan and blood tests but still no letter with my nuchal results. How long did you have to wait? Should I call someone to try and find out?

mustbemadno3 · 09/11/2009 21:08

katemm7 Yes I would ring 2 weeks seems a long time. I had mine done on 2/11 and got results back 7/11. Did you pay privately or was it done on nhs?

newmomma · 10/11/2009 09:09

katem77 That does seem quite a long time to wait - I'd call. I had mine done at the JR in Oxford on the 30/10 and the results came on Saturday just gone... so it was 8 days.

How long did they say the results would take?

jester68 · 10/11/2009 10:20

I am 11 weeks and 1 day pregnant with my second child. Due 31st May.

I have already had 2 scans. First at 7 weeks because of spotting and pain. Then had my dating scan last week at 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Great to see bubba again waving his/her tiny little legs around. Got some great pictures too.

Baby was not planned but very much wanted.

Me and my partner have been together 7 years. We have a daughter who will be 4 years old in march 2010 and my partner has a son who will be 20 april 2010

Um, I am 25 and partner is 41. Flew through pregnancy with my daughter, had hardly any symptons. With this one have been incredibly tired (started improving now) and the sickness is awful!

Congratulations to you all

first1 · 10/11/2009 15:41

Congratulations jester68 Hope you sail through this pregnancy too and the sickness subsides soon. I definitely sympathise with the tiredness, I'm 13+1weeks and 8.30pm is considered a late night!

KateM77 · 10/11/2009 19:53

Scan was with nhs and they didn't say how long the results would take. Still nothing today so I'll try and call tomorrow
