Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

I'm having swine flu jab on 14th Dec. As wibblela says it's a personal decision, but think it'll give me peace of mind to know it's done.

sorry to hear your sad news panicmode

first1 congrats on the girl. I'm having my 20 week scan on 21st but don't want to find out what flavour mine is - I'd like a surprise. DH suggested we should find out so that we only have to think of one name

Welcome Pootle77. I'm 17 + 5 today and due 8th May, all sounds a bit odd!

alicia34 · 04/12/2009 18:09

Hi all, I'm due on May the 1st with my fifth child (no not planned!!) I already have two teenage girls and two boys, youngest is 5, so thought I was done with the baby years.
wasn't sure at first but now i'm quite excited but I do worry that I am lucky to have four healthy children and think that something will go wrong this time.
its been quite a trouble free pregnancy so far, although did have a bleed at 14 weeks.
will have scan on 18th December so prob will fine out what it is (baby I hope. lol ) don't have the patience to wait.

PanicMode · 04/12/2009 18:42

Hi alicia34,

Welcome to the thread - I'm expecting my (surprise) number 4 on the 30th April, so we may well end up delivering around the same time I guess!! My scan is the same day as yours - but I'm still working on DH to find out - we haven't for the other three and he's reluctant to this time either, but I've had a very difficult time getting my head around this baby, so I want to find out to help me bond and be in the right frame of mind.....

Pootle77 · 04/12/2009 19:03

Oh lord, you're all right - I'm my 17th week, so that makes me 16+ something doesn't it? Hells' teeth if I'm this scatty now, how bad will I be later on.....

KateM77 · 04/12/2009 19:53

Pootle77 don't worry about it...I'm sure we're all suffering from pregnant brain!

Pootle77 · 05/12/2009 08:12

Morning all,

Been up for hours already - hip pain was just so horrible last night I gave up on trying to sleep. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a proper pillow thingy - unless there's any other suggestions out there to try first?

newmomma · 05/12/2009 09:53

Hi Pootle77,
I had a bad night too... bleurgh.

Have you tried ante-natal yoga? Helped me no end with that kind of problem first time round - I'm due to start again on Tuesday - I can't wait!

Or else see a really good chiropractor - I also see a bloke monthly throughout my pregnancy to make sure everything stays where it should be - he can help with SPD and all sorts. Genius!

Hope we both have a better night tonight...!

Welcome alicia34 congrats! Number 5 wow!

Hope your hip is getting more comfortable pootle77, I've had a few dodgy feelings in my right hip too, like it needs a good click!?

When do you all plan on buying things? I'm not letting myself by any of the big things until after 24ish weeks, but saw a thread on here where some women have bought cribs/prams etc at 6-10weeks! Am I just a bit too nervous of buying early?

katem77 good luck for the jab hun, I had mine at 15weeks. Understand it's a personal decision for everyone but I'm so glad I did. Feel less paranoid every time I go out now. And saw bub wriggling round at 16week scan

Hope everyone is well. xxx

LauraFirstTimeMum · 07/12/2009 17:05

Hi All, thoguht i would gate crash!

I'm due 10.05.10, and not feeling very pregnant at the moment. No kicks, no bump...nadda. Feel like a bit of a fraud. Not got my 20 wk scan until the 21st, and i'm desperate to check everything is ok, but i don't really like my midwife so am reluctant to call her.

This is my first (very unexpected) baby, as i was on the pill, and me and my fella were very shocked, but have got used to the idea, and are happy now. I just wish baby would give me a bit of a kick so i know everything is ok

Laura, 18+1

xx

alicia34 · 08/12/2009 11:48

hello again.
panicmode. I know feel exactly the same, thats why I want to find out, but so does DH no patience in this house and I think it will help to bond and picture what baby might be like. Had a forceful kick for the first time yesterday and I thought oh my god its real. lol
laura. don't worry about movements, I was and then they just get gradually stronger once they start and then you can't mistake them. i'm nearly 20 weeks and only have definite movement at this stage, and this is my fifth.
hello everyone else, really nice to share the pregnancys on here. is anyone else suffering with heartburn yet.

Oldi · 11/12/2009 17:07

Hi everyone - alicia34 in answer to your question yes, I am suffering terrible heartburn! Aargh! At 17 weeks. Does that mean its going to get worse???

charr · 12/12/2009 16:28

Hi again
Had my 16 week scan and MW was really nice and said she'd have a go at listening to the heartbeat - but said babies don't always co-operate so not to worry if she couldn't find it! Anyway it definitely played along and she said the heartbeat and placenta sounds were good and strong. It was amazing !!

Pootle77 I hope your hip pain's getting better - not sure if it's the same thing but I got a really sharp pain when I was rolling onto my left side the other night. I hope it doesn't carry on.

LauraFirstTimeMum I know what you mean about feeling a fraud - other than feeling sick I haven't seen any signs - no bump or kicks for me either, but lots of people have told me not to worry as each baby's different. One thing my MW told me was that at about 18 weeks I could try to drink some cold water, lie on the bed with my hands firmly on my stomach and just concentrate on my stomach and I might feel something - No idea if it works or not though

Is anyone else still getting morning sickness? I thought it had gone away the other day but it's back with a vengeance.

first1 · 14/12/2009 19:34

How is everyone doing? I had to go to the day assessment unit today. Thought I was leaking fluid which panicked me beyond belief. But got examined and cervix is tightly shut and apparently it's just increased discharge. Nice!

Good luck to all with scans over the next few weeks. Mine's on the 31st so will be nice to see bub again as we say hello to the new year

mustbemadno3 · 16/12/2009 19:15

hello everyone. Had a sneaky scan today!!! I had to go for a check up because of my dodgy heart (thats what you get living with 3boys!!) And as im 19weeks and not felt baba move other than pushing on my bladder!! they decided to do a basic scan, it was great it was moving and kicking loads just cant feel it! My 12 yr old was with me and told the dr it looked like a chicken!!! she thought that was very amusing. Im already for xmas all wrapped up and for 1st time in 4 yrs no cooking!!!hoorah!! 20 week scan nxt wed cant wait x

Jayfer · 16/12/2009 19:35

Had my 20wk scan last week and we've found out we're having a boy. Very exciting! Also after not feeling him move or kick both my DH and I have felt him over the weekend. Its a lovely feeling (at the moment) as they are not too forceful. They also told me at the scan that my placenta is at the front which can muffle things a bit. So exciting!! My DH sat grinning the entire way through the scan and there was no doubt its a boy - he was spreadeagled at the end!! (The baby not my DH!!)

KateM77 · 19/12/2009 10:35

Halfway there, 20 weeks today. Got my scan on Monday. Have been feeling little movements and kicks for the last few weeks which is reassuring, but still can't wait to see the baby again
Really hope we don't find out the sex though because we'd like a surprise.
Hope everyone is feeling well and looking forward to Christmas

PanicMode · 20/12/2009 08:52

Hi everyone.

hope you are all well - I'm gutted because I couldn't get to my scan on Friday due to the snow (was going to walk in, but nobody answered at the scan clinic, so I guess no-one made it in!!) and I haven't been able to get a new date yet, so am very disappointed.....

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year!!

first1 · 20/12/2009 14:47

Congrats on the boy jayfer
Good luck for tomorrow katem77 panicmode really hope you get a date sorted. We've had virtually no snow here (Surrey), so a bit jealous to be honest!

My 20 week scan isnt until New Years Eve but I managed to get a cheeky "19 week scan" today as a friend works for BabyBond and offered to have a little check Baby is still a she! I've been having quite nasty muscular pain in the bottom of my bump so was nice to get the placenta/cervix etc checked that it's nothing baby related. Roll on 31st Dec for next scan.

Anyway, wishing everyone a very happy christmas and new year! Next year's Xmas will be a whole lot different!

KateM77 · 21/12/2009 18:24

panicmode sorry to hear you missed your scan, hope you get a new date sorted soon
Had my scan today and all OK with baby. We opted not to find out the sex. Would have had to rely on them telling me anyway, I couldn't work out what anything was! The clearest thing was a foot.
Whilst all OK with baby (and that's the main thing), I do have low lying placenta so have to have another scan at 34 weeks to see if it's moved. Been told not to panic and that this is fairly common, so will remain calm unless there's any bleeding

PanicMode · 21/12/2009 19:04

So glad to hear all well KateM77

The hospital said they would phone me back today with a new date, but didn't so am a bit . am going to chivvy them again tomorrow.....

PanicMode · 22/12/2009 10:00

And the chivvying worked - have a scan for the morning - hurrah! Just have to hope we don't get any more snow overnight - it's treacherous here still.

glitterkitten · 22/12/2009 12:31

Hello everyone- i am new to this- first time pregnant, due 29th May 2010 and very excited!

We found out i was expecting the day we got back from honeymoon, after having only been off the pill for 2 months!

Can't believe my luck but still worry that the dream will be taken from me!!

feeling movement and little thumps and so far it's been an easy pregnancy- no MS or anything. Just constipation!

Not going to ask what we are having but from my 11 week scan and the "dangle" theory i predict a girl!

does anyone know how reliable the "dangle theory" is??! i worry i have ruined the surprise for myself but i just couldn't help it!

xx

PanicMode · 22/12/2009 13:57

Hi glitterkitten and double congratulations on your marriage and your baby!

No idea on the dangle theory, sorry!

glitterkitten · 22/12/2009 14:55
