If you like the Daily Mash, check out the original US spoof paper The Onion which has been going for years in print and is now online. Some of its fake TV reports have been so convincing that they've appeared on real news. My favourite is here. One of those things that would divide the mummies at toddler groups around the country .

johnworf · 08/08/2009 20:14

ermintrude how bizarre. I posted a link to The Onion about an hour ago on FB. Been a fan for years.

JW I'm not at all surprised. If we both like ISIHAC and have crushes on comedians who teeter on the line between good and bad taste, a love of The Onion follows quite naturally . I used to buy the annuals as presents for friends and they all got hooked.

johnworf · 08/08/2009 20:33

Yes. I suppose we share a quite similar warped sense of humour taste in the funnies

I actually thought your link would be the story about the paedophile interview telling us how to make children less attractive. Now that one would sort the women from the girls!

Please note ladies, this isn't real and is a spoof so don't all jump on me!

Oh yes love that story about the greedy dying kid - the onion is fab! which reminds me of another one oh buggery what was it called.. a spoof local news rag... will try to remember...

mrsboogie · 08/08/2009 20:41

Has anybody used the Roaring Forties yet in a thread title?

duchesse · 08/08/2009 20:51

Apparently so called due to their boisterous and prevailing westerly winds.

Tee2072 · 08/08/2009 20:52

Hi all.

Fed the inlaws a curry. They are now sitting around watching TV. Adam has been a very good boy for Granny and Grandad.

I love the Onion.

I don't think anyone has duchesse if you'd like to do the honours!

duchesse · 08/08/2009 20:59

D'you think- "The Roaring 40s- We're a bunch of old windbags"- is a bit...offputting?

johnworf · 08/08/2009 21:01

Just checking to see how much landmass I have. Plenny by all accounts

Off for a game of triv with Mr Worf. I feel lots of wedges coming my way
