Heron I wish I could persuade Benjamin to sleep. He just won't hear of it. He thinks it a daft idea.
JJ Glad to hear that all appears well with Verity after all.
Tigga Why do men insist on tidying up the house when there is a baby to look after? That's my DH's problem. They nag more than we ever could.

mrsboogie · 22/07/2009 13:10

10kgs?? blimey that is big,
have yu laid on any sort of musical entertainemnt for him heron? D has a Tomy lightshow thing that pays lullabies and projects a little lightshow onto wals or ceiling - quite often keeps him occupied long enough that he falls to sleep.

duchesse · 22/07/2009 13:12

Blimey! My daughters were 10kg at 24 months.

johnworf · 22/07/2009 15:03

Jeez 10kgs? K is about 7kgs and she's 10 months corrected.

Ah well lots of cleaning done. No one will know I bothered by tea time Plus man has dropped off the shopping so another job I can tick off the list.

I see one of the sextuplets in NI has died

mrsboogie · 22/07/2009 16:42

tsk. how inconsiderate

FloriaTosca · 22/07/2009 17:04

LOL JW...is this impatience a sign of going stirr crazy already?
Sorry not to have any gossip to pique your interest and help while away the time. Not a lot going on at Tosca Towers.
Dhs mates' cellulitis is finally responding to 10 bags of IV anti-bs a day, (it is back to the size he went to A&E with it last week)...so a reprieve from permanent limp inducing surgery.. he will need skin grafts eventually though. I can't wait for him to get home...with his wife, kids and inlaws on holiday and my dh working away I felt the need to visit y'day and offer to do his washing etc but admit I do worry about what bugs I'm bringing home with me (won't take Alex..I leave him with my inlaws) ..my hands are already reacting adversely to the hand wash..it will be a lot easier when they let him out but apparently not before Sunday.
Alex is sleeping a bit better (only 1 wake up at 3.30 through the night, and woke after 6am)though whether that is induced by the calpol I'm giving him for his cold or not we have yet to discover.

ooh! Alex showing signs of needing a nap (yippee!) bbl

We've made it - and it was fun! A whole afternoon full of toddlers and babies - potty training, breasts, bottles, biscuits, you name it - it all went in one end and came out the other - at one point it was potties and nappies everywhere

dawntigga awwww, Swine flu is spoiling so much fun.

floria thank goodness your DH's mate is responding - how awful. When is your DH back?

jw keep us posted on Bonzo - I've not got her on my FB. Oooo, what flavour eh? I reckon it's gonna be a boy. Hope she's doing ok after the CS.

tee ah - the bumbo puzzle is solved!

I'm pooped and fed up of Iris screaming "NO" at everything Verity touches. It's like she's never been through the whole sharing phase and it's hit her late....it really is annoying. Mind you - she has done a poo in the red potty - so not all bad. Hates the green potty though - that's "horrid" and she hurled it down the stairs

hedgepig · 22/07/2009 18:29

good job she hadn't done the poo in the green potty then JJ.

I have had a lovely day having a picnic with some other mums from school while the children ran riot. Although now I feel a bit glum, not sure why.

Tee2072 · 22/07/2009 18:35

Afternoon all.

How can such a small body hold so much poo?!?!

I can't remember bonzo's real name, although I think I have her friended! Do keep us up to date jw!!

10kgs? Wow! Adam was 4.4 at last weigh in.

DH is making dinner.

heron22 · 22/07/2009 18:59

hi all! had an exhausting but fun day taking DS1 to gymnastics summer camp. it was at westfield shopping centre and LO and i got to window shop for a couple of hours.

yes LO is big, he was 6 months a week ago. DS1 is also big, he is a bean pole but in height he is 95th centile for his age. LO is a michelin man at the moment!

tee how many weeks is Adam now? 4? cant remember! hope you are not feeling too low.

ladies, i am so silly. LO was so unsettled because he hates sleeping in his bassinet. thats what is so hard about babies! they cant talk and tell us what is wrong!

so fingers crossed, he stays asleep and does not wake up screaming and then puking! he is clean, fed, and burped!

dawn how many weeks is your LO?

heron22 · 22/07/2009 19:05

*tee i agree, so amazing how much poo they have!

you lucky thing, ur DH making dinner

mrsboogie · 22/07/2009 19:24

well, we just weighed D and he is 10kg and people keep saying he is v big so heron that's one tall boy you are growing alright.

he will get used to sleeping in the bassinet though, after a while. They are a bugger like that, D wouldn't except anything but the Amby for ages. How they know or care that they are in the wrong bed when they are ASLEEP and have to wake up again to tell you they don't like it, is beyond me.

just had a window man round measuring for a quote. He asked who else we had quotes from and proceeded to diss every single thing he could think of about the other company. Put me right off him he did. Will have to start again now...

johnworf · 22/07/2009 19:37

Blimey, feel very tiny now all these big babies about. Mind you, when I think of where she started from then..........

Looking forward to doing bugger all tonight ..for a change. Was gonna make some cards but can't be fannied. Will do it another time.

See Alan Milburn will announce who is going to get the jabs first, tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about this jab. It's not been tested has it?

jeanjeannie · 22/07/2009 19:55

Oh gawd, it sounds like the bird house at London Zoo - both girls are squarking in defiance at going to bed Iris has had no nap and it seems that she gets to the end of the day so exhausted that she's virtually hyper - if that makes sense?

tee send your DH over here when you've had your dinner - he can rustle me up something nice

GOsh yes, all these big LOs! I think Verity is 22lbs - don't know what it is in new money!

hedgepig the picnic sounds nice...sorry you're glum now...probably because it's all nose back to the grind once again!

mrsB get loads of quotes - boring but you'll get a feel for who is good. Dissing the opposition is a bad move.

Nowt on telly and I can barely keep my eyes open - all this dreaming of jw that's disturbing my sleep

heron22 · 22/07/2009 20:01

mrsb exactly! how do they know what they are sleeping on! but obviously they do!

dawntigga · 22/07/2009 20:10

heron he's 13 weeks but 5 weeks early

Don'tKnowWhatIDidToDeserveACityEatingBabyTiggaxx

Tee2072 · 22/07/2009 20:21

heron he's 6 weeks tomorrow.

YIKES DH was clipping A's nails and cut his finger. Lots of screaming and some blood. DH thinks we should take him to casualty, but I don't think they can do any more than we did, i.e. put plaster on it.

mrsboogie · 22/07/2009 20:23

London Zoo here too, up and down stairs with ratty tired boy guzzling milk. Feel very guilty for feeling impatient when we have only been with him since 5.30 but he is hyper and tired and grumpy.

the jab is being tested now jw in Australia - will take 6 weeks, which may not sound very long but all flu jabs are made, tested and released in a short time frame so there's no particular reason to worry any more about it than any other (except that it doesn't work of course)

With K's CLD I think I would be wanting it, if I were you jw - if the testing shows it is efficacious I will want D to have it. Don't fancy being on the end of a long queue for medical treatment around November time if half the country has it. Also planning to ask if he can have his MMR early while its relatively SF free round these parts.

BonzoDoodah · 22/07/2009 20:32

hey all ...one finger typing on crappy keypad.
all went super today. went into theatre at about 11 for prepping. started at 11.30 ... struggled to get baby out of the hole as so big ... but baby Gregory arrived 10 mins later weighing 10lb 6oz!!! Thank goodness we went for the elective CS!
Baby apgars were 10 10 10 so very good. Only thing is his blood sugars are low so they have to heel prick and test every couple of hours... poor boy. He's feeding fine though. Is odd having such a chubby babby tho after illy string-bean. His legs look like sumos!
Otherwise I'm feeling pretty good and M and DH have been in for a goodnight kiss.

johnworf · 22/07/2009 20:45

bonzo so pleased that all is well. Bloody hell! Baby Gregory is almost the same weight as K (not quite but he's huge). Bet you're glad you didn't have a VBAC now

Glad to hear all is well. I'm sure his sugars will stablise very soon.

Mwah! x

johnworf · 22/07/2009 20:48

mrsb I'm waiting to see if K will be in the first wave of vaccinations. I have a feeling she will be as she has underlying long term lung condition. Lord only knows how they'll get this jab to everyone though. 60 million people is a lot to vaccinate.

I'm still on bronchiolitis alert. She won't be getting the jabs this year as she's not considered high risk. Think I'll just put her in a bubble and lock her in her room until March 2010

johnworf · 22/07/2009 20:49

tee you can buy little baby clippers which I think are a bit safer. Poor A
