Evening Ladies. Well, I feel loads better expect my blinkin period started....grrrrrr! So I've swapped sickness for stomach ache...yeee haa!! No wonder I've wanted to kill everyone and been so tetchy

Heron Blank your mind and like iris says, you'll wake up in the dead of night shouting Eueka!!

JW we'll need a full report on your shopping expedition.

tabitha couldn't possibly reveal all....as I'd end up revealing my 'mole', but let's just say that a lot of stuff/legislation that gets passed is often as flimsy as a tart's knickers

floria Oh dear....having to go for dinner...shame! I'm going to try that tomorrow. I'm going to say that a Tiger Came to Tea, ate everything and that we'll have to go to a cafe!

mrsboogie · 03/05/2009 21:20

jj I think I'm going to have to get the pics of the Maldives out again for you, old thing..

johnworf · 03/05/2009 21:46

Skegness would look enticing at the mo.

I've gone dress blind Looked at far too many and trying to imagine what would go with them.........gah! Overload. Problem is a lot of the dresses on sale currently are sleeveless and I don't want one of those really as a) fat bingo wings on show...no-no and b) feel that I should cover upper arms in church. Call me old fashioned. Others are cut so low they would show off my belly button and that again, is out of the question.

Think I need to leave the virtual shops and have a look in the real ones.

Nice meal out with all of the children. Even K was a very good girl chomping away on her bread roll in the restaurant high chair Hope you're having a good one too floria!

Wonderwitch · 04/05/2009 06:26

Wowww, your not kidding about thread moving fast

Thank you to everyone and oh wow its been a VERY long time since I was referred to as a spring chicken or one of the youngest...making me feel like a teenager again lol,

JJ oh yep the nausea has arrived, altho it doesnt seem quite as bad as with my other 2 but being soo long ago I may have over exaggerated it over time lol

One thing I am getting though that I know for a fact I didn't get before is for about a week or so I have been having period like pains, (very low stomach and back pains, and sometimes the tops of my legs down to knees), almost all day everyday, at first it worried the hell out of me, but after reading post on here and a trip to the doc I'm felling a bit easier, the doc found a trace of protein in my urine so it has been sent to hosp to be analyzed or what ever it is they do to it, prob best I don't know at the mo with the nausea lol so just got to wait for results of that.

I don' think I will truly relax until much later on in the PG, not sure if its coz I'm older now or because I never thought I would have another, but I seem to be so much more worried about this PG and I am REALLY tearful too, its becoming ing.

Good god, I sound like a right moaner, best I stop there then lol

thanks again to all of you you have made me feel very welcome

Hugs

WW or Wend xxXxx

iris66 · 04/05/2009 08:05

morning all - blimey I feel so much better for a decent sleep. I realised that I had only sat down for about 15 minutes (to eat lunch) all day. Little wonder I was feeling pants. I'm going to take it very steady today. Off out later for a picnic with friends which I'm really looking forward to.

wonderwitch - it's a bit of a shock to be going through it again isn't it. I felt the same as you..including the extra teariness Hope the nausea doesn't last too long

jw - would a bolero work for the sleeveless dresses, or a wrap/pashmina?

heron did you wake up knowing then?

hope everyone has a sunny one

Tee2072 · 04/05/2009 08:18

Morning all.

Well, it looks like the decision to stay home and put together furniture this bank holiday has been justified by the rain pouring down out there.

WW Wendy the Wonderwitch as in Casper the Friendly ghost's friend Wendy?

iris I also got decent sleep. It really does make a difference, doesn't it?

Hope everyone has a lovely day!!

morning all, my parents have gone home so we have the house back to ourselves and I can waste time on the computer again . I love them dearly and it is great to see them but it is always a bit of hard work keeping them fed and watered etc

Heron did you find the birth certs? I lost my pas port for a whole year once found it in a coat pocket I had had to buy a new one in the mean time.

Wonderwitch welcome you young thing, I'm 42 (43 is looming with DS1 5.5 and Ds2 (Oliver) 7 months tomorrow.

Tee its not raining here yet but it is a bit chilly and over cast, just the weather for a day out.

JW I like the 2nd dress best, have you looked in Wallis? they had lots of nice things in there when I looked last week

johnworf · 04/05/2009 09:43

Morning ladies. Hey there hedgepig LTNS Glad the parent visit went well. Always great to have the house back to yourselves though isn't it? Means you can slob around in your nightie with the stains down the front without fear of reprisals

Been raining here and think it shall continue to do so throughout the day - on and off. Cold too so not planning to go anywhere today.

wendy the pains you have sound like embedding pains or relaxing ligaments? Would it be around the time your period would be due?

Lordy, my head was spinning last night when I went to bed. Too many dresses viewed. Won't be doing that again. I've bought, from Ebay, a black Fenn Wright Manson floaty tea dress. Was trying to avoid black but if it's no good then I haven't spent very much. Got my eye on a Coast dress too so I'll have a few choices and a few nice dresses just in case

While I was looking at new stuff online last night, I did a heavy sigh and said to DH that by rights, I should be very wealthy as my tastes seem to lean that way. He shot me a look as if in agreement - without the rich part, just the rich tastes.

Talking of which I saw some beautiful dress on this site. I've never been on here before so I might get saving for some of the Farhi stuff. Oh it's so lovely! As is the Anglomania stuff. Waaaay out of my league.

K has found yet another game today (10/10 for creativity). Bit of reflux on the food mat, rub it around and have a taste. Also dropping tops from highchair/bouncy chair is such great fun and you can watch mummy and daddy bend down and pick them all up again Don't have the energy nor the back these days for THAT one!

johnworf · 04/05/2009 09:49

Whoops meant to post, there was an article on the radio this morning that Farleys rusks contain 29% sugar [schock] Mine have gone in the bin. I'll find something else.

hedgepig · 04/05/2009 10:00

JW yep still in my PJs DH & DS1 have only just got up, O and i have been up sinceare 6 ..yawn

I have been using the Organix soft rusks they made with grape juice (whihc is basically sugar juice) not sugar but just checked the sugar content and it is 21% from the grape juice.

heron22 · 04/05/2009 10:20

hi hedgepig iris nope, still not found it!!! DH says they might be at his work. so fingers crossed! will not worry myself silly, for now anyway

how is everyone? dreary here and cold too.

LO sucked me dry this morning. usually after his morning feed, i express and there is still around 100mls of breastmilk left. this morning, there was barely 20mls. maybe a growth spurt is happening.

jw love the game your K devised

i am still in pjs !

johnworf · 04/05/2009 12:04

hedgepig I have the organix as well but thought (stupidly) that they're all much of a muchness (esp when the Farleys said they were reduced sugar but they still come out way more than the organix). DH was amazed as I usually read all labels but for some reason I thought, naively it seems, that reduced sugar rusks would be fine Well they're in the bin now - after I had to stop DSS fishing them out so he could eat them! - and I'll stick with the Organix as they seem not too bad.

I picked up some of the sweetcorn rings and the carrot flavour puffs. Not tried these before so these are new ones for madam.

Just got back from supermarket which was relatively quiet. Mind you the weather is dire and it's still early for most (noted that a lot of people seemed to be having parties or in the pubs y'day) who are probably having a lie in.....obviously don't have babies to get them up at 6am (snap, hedgepig).

I think that DH and DSS are off to the cinema this afternoon to see either Monsters v Aliens or the new Xmen film with the lovely Hugh Jackman in it The girls are staying at home and having a little party of their own.

Can't believe I missed one of my watched items on Ebay this morning while I was out. The dove grey Farhi linen skirt I had my eye on went for £2.49 and I missed it Bugger!

johnworf · 04/05/2009 12:06

My DD#1 mentioned y'day that Ken Barlow was leaving Corrie. I think he legs it with Martha. Is this right?

heron22 · 04/05/2009 12:06

hi how about we start a new thread? cos this one is so long, and it takes ages to refresh!

duchesse · 04/05/2009 12:27

Oh god, first arrival on my ante-natal thread (at 24+1). Had been dreading it. I so hope he pulls through and is OK.

duchesse · 04/05/2009 12:42

iris- thank you for that link- those slings look lovely. And if it helps a lady with many children running a cottage industry, it's certainly worth getting one from her rather than a shop!

jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 12:47

Afternoon all. What a morning.

Went to local fayre with the girls. Said to DP, "will it rain?" "Nah, don't be silly" was his reply So, picture the scene. Double buggy, howling wind, pouring rain, me grappling with plastic rain cover. Iris refusing to get back in buggy while smudging a choccy cake (bad mummy) all over her face while watching Fern Britten opening the fete and chatting away as though it was a gorgeous day!! All it needed was John Nettles to turn up, declare that Father Willy (the organiser) had been killed in a murder most foul and we'd have been in an episode of a Midsommer murder.

Anyhoo....Fern did go into the cake stall....had to go before I could see if she scoffed any. She had a very odd skirt on - black the HUGE white spots but very covetable brown boots!

jw DP reckons Ken's going to run off with Martha.....well, Dierdre? or a lush lady with a sexy little fringe..? Dog seems to like the boat too! Enjoy your girls' afternoon in! And yes, I saw that sugar thing I'm an organix girl especially the corn rings and puffs) although Verity prefers bits of toast with cream cheese!

hedgepig glad you've got the slbo-life back again!

duchese gosh, how worrying for the poor family. FIngers crossed for good news.

Wonderwitch Sounds like jw says, ligament & embedding pains. I got mine both times around the time my period would have been. Mind you - I also had spectacular bleeds that got me hospitalised....and still all was ok!!

I want to do nothing for the rest of the day

Tee2072 · 04/05/2009 12:47

duchesse can you repost the link, I wanna see and I missed it!!

Hope the person on your antenatal thread is okay and their baby also.

I'm totally knackered, having put together one of the Ikea things this morning. Off to nap very very soon!

OP posts:
duchesse · 04/05/2009 12:53

From Iris, the sling site.

heron22 · 04/05/2009 13:04

ladies!!!!

found the missing documents!!! they were right in front of my nose all along! literally. just under the pile of papers behind the laptop i am using right now!!!

heron22 · 04/05/2009 13:59

tee i have got a sling very much like the freedom pouch. i bought mine from babysense. LO loves being in it. he is not getting quite big and i use it still. when he is able to sit up, i can use it by adjusting the position. he will kinda sit on my hips with the sling wraparound him.

ermintrude13 · 04/05/2009 14:16

Oh my goodness, I've missed a day on this thread and will never regain it! DD's 2 bd parties went extremely well and since the projector screen was still set up last night we watched 'Twilight' with my sis and BIL when the DC were in bed. Hmm, it makes me wish I'd had a vampire boyfriend in my middle teens - extremely handsome and sophisticated, having lived at age 17 for several decades; possessing superhuman speed and strength, making for exciting days out; no need to cater, and mucho repressed lust. Swoon.

Off to clear up after guests adn going out to theatre tonight so will try to catch up tomorrow, hope everyone's having a sunnier bank hol than we are here in Nottingham

jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 15:00

Pleased it all went well ermintrude and parties were a success

A projector screen! How fab. Did you not have a teenage vampire boyfriend then? Really? Shame you missed out, they were all the rage in Nottingham back in the eighties - Rock City was famed for them Did you have a teenage dirtbag instead

johnworf · 04/05/2009 15:20

JJ I had many dirtbags Some can still be seen on episodes of Crimewatch.

Your fete sounds....errr.......lovely! I wonder if those brown boots were the ones I saw her wearing on a recent pic? Were they flatish ones with a buckle on the side at the top? If they were I thought they looked well on her. Mind you, she should do something with her boobs...get a minimiser bra or something. She looks like a weeble she's so top heavy.

Sigh ermintrude you're always out and about. I'm so I never go anywhere exciting unless you count the bread aisle in the supermarket when they've marked it all down. Bum. No chance of babysitter either as just returned from mad SiL's house and K screamed at the mere sight of her....and here was me resting all hopes on her having K for a night. Not a bloody hope in hell.

Sounds like you had a lovely night with the projector screen. Don't think I've watched one of those since we had our holidays captured on super 8 and had to sit through them as a teenager. Fab

heron well done on finding the missing documents. Obviously you have a severe case of baby brain

I can't find any info in the t'interweb re Ken running off so I'm thinking that DD#1 has told me a little porky...or has she? Does anyone know about this? Honestly, I'm going to need therapy after this one!

floria how you doing today dear? How is A? I'm hoping he's better. Hugs to you both.

Ok, where is blondie mrsb hiding today? Just cos you've got a day off work don't think you can get out of reading all this twaddle on here

I'm off to pick up the men folk from the cinema. TTFN

jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 15:28

Well, all I can find is that May 08 episode (damm I've on a hen night!) see's Diedre find Ken's farewell note and although 'stunned' appears to take it rather well. MMmmm i wonder if he's just having time out to get to grips with RL as his wife hasn't long passed away..?

This 'departure' doesn't sound final enough to me. I reckon the longest running charater in soap history (world-wide I believe) would have a bit more of a fanfare should he be departing for good.
