Tee sorry to hear of your DH's job and hope he gets a tide-over soon. Glad you're ok though. When do you start your mat leave?

johnworf · 01/05/2009 18:18

Thought something was missing today. Keys. check. Purse. Check. tee. hmmmm no check. That's it! tee wasn't here. I thought we weren't playing with a full deck Bugger that you've got to show her all the things in your head that you take for granted and don't think twice about. I find that really hard to put down on paper all the things I do/did - I'm talking historically when I actually got paid for working my arse off. Oh, so long ago Now I beg on the street corner with K wrapped in a blanket, pretending to speak only Latvian

Slight exaggeration there folks....

So iris there'll def be no more LO's after this one if he's been spayed. I've offered to do my DH's myself. Saves time

Thai curry sounds nice JJ I've no idea what we're having. Not thought about it. The Fridays when DSS goes off to his mum's usually goes like.....DH off to the chip shop and I'm left to stir and fry (like I do every other night of the week). Sigh. Exciting food. That's what I need. That's not what I'm going to get. I just know it.

Anyway, we're having a date night. Whatever that is. Methinks it'll be the usual of get K in bed, flop on the sofa, tv on (DH will have remote, natch), I'll read my Good Housekeeping whilst he gives me a reluctant foot rub. Mebbe the date aspect will be something like him asking me if I want a cup of tea. Yes! That's it! I never get one so that'll be the romance coming out in him. Awww bless him

johnworf · 01/05/2009 18:23

OMFG. I've just caught up with DM news. KIRSTIE ALLEY what have you done, love? Someone have a word with her.

Phil Mitchell aka Steve McFadden runs off with a married doctor and she's pregnant with his 4th baby. Jeez. She must be blind. I can't think of one single redeeming feature of that man.

Can't bear to read the article about baby P's stepfather raping a 2 yo.........makes me feel ill. Shooting him after chopping his balls off is too good for him imho.

iris66 · 01/05/2009 18:44

baby P!! lalalalalalalalalala [fingers in ears - can't hear/read/know/think anything about that ] I thought ovrexposure was supposed to anaesthetise (sp?) you to horrid things - I'm getting worse with age!!!!!!

heron22 · 01/05/2009 18:47

jw is this the baby P from haringey? it is beyond upsetting!

iris66 · 01/05/2009 18:48

jw - many moons ago I smilingly threatened to cheeswire some guy at a barbecue who was drooling (and making vile comments vis a vis her 16th!!!!!!!!)over my (then 14yo) DD. Apparently it's very quick - perhaps not for husbands though

goldenpig · 01/05/2009 18:49

Birth announcement.

Baby Winnie, sister to John, born 29/4 by section.

All good, mother Goldenpig, 44.

Obs thinks I will and should have another! I think I am darned lucky with this pair.

Thanks to all who offered support in pregnancy and best wishes to expectant oldies.

heron22 · 01/05/2009 18:49

OMG just read it on BBC website.
so so sad for the little girl.

that man should be executed.

Tee2072 · 01/05/2009 19:09

Congratulations goldenpig!! Peektures??? Puhweese?

Nice to know my absence was felt JW. I was afraid I'd come in tonight be greeted with 'whose you then'.

Oh man is it difficult to train someone up! I have 5 years in this job, nearly!

hullo all

I can't find the post I posted this morning how odd.

/wonders where she posted her good mornings

'ere ladies I have been and gone blond (ish)

Mr D still having occasional exploding arse episodes.. dunno what the matter is.

my Galt dinosaur cushion arrived today. That paid £20 for on Amazon cos I am rubbish at ebay.

the baby P thing - they said at the time there was other stuff going on with the kids in the house. I really would be prepared to reconsider the whole death penalty thing for the likes of him. Hope he spends ever second of the rest of his life watching his back in prison...

heron22 · 01/05/2009 19:19

could not agree more mrsb

johnworf · 01/05/2009 19:53

Congrats goldenpig. Glad that you and little Winnie are doing great. Couple of piccies would be fab

Oh lord. I really wished I'd not seen that story. Actually, I only saw the headline and couldn't bring myself to click on the link. The details would be too much. heron no dilemma there with your party comment; quick punch in the balls does it everytime.

Hey there BLONDIE! I thought I knew your face but couldn't place it. What brought that on? Have you been blonde before? I'd look daft as a blonde. In fact I'd give Alastair Darling a run for his money as most mismatched hair and eyebrows combo.

tee come over here dear and let me get you a cuppa. Yeah, teaching people stuff is exhausting. Why couldn't she just know it...osmosis is a good suggestion.

So, what's the story with D's bum then? Doesn't sound as though he's bothered by it. Can't be anything too serious then.

I'm in pj's. Have been for an hour. Is it bedtime yet?

I've just seen that I'm watching 37 items on Ebay to finish in the next 2 days. Best hide laptop from DH before he freaks

Tee2072 · 01/05/2009 19:58

LOL at Alastair Darling comment. Every time I see him I yell at him to die his hair. Or his eyebrows.

JW thanks for the cuppa. I have a big glass of water from DH as well.

I've been in PJs for 3 hours. And I'm probably off to bed in an hour!!

Do baby on the interior hiccups feel like being punched in one place over and over again? Because I keep feeling that!!

jeanjeannie · 01/05/2009 20:04

goldenpig HUGE congrats and thrilled you're all doing so well Gorgeous name - I'm a sucker for the old, lavender-scented monikers! Well done you x Pic would be fab and keep us posted.

mrsB you're blonde gosh, you sex bomb! So, what-do-ya think of it then, do you like it? Is there a picture?!

tee ugh - handing over your job. It's like someone coming to your house to cook dinner and you think 'this is nice' until you have to talk them through the recipe, tell them how to make it and then do the washing up

jw we're watching a Vango on ebay...sniff of warm weather and that's it ...life under canvas for us! I'm just thinking of all the potty training advantages it holds Hope you get your foot rub...fat chance around here. DP is eating jelly (meant for the girls) and he knows it upsets me, just the look of the stuff...ugh

iris let me get this right...your DH had a vasectomy - then had it reversed? or it failed? - and then had it done again ???? Blimey!!

heron22 · 01/05/2009 20:21

jw 37 items! ur a busy woman! what stuff are you watching? for you or kids?

mrsboogie · 01/05/2009 20:27

congrats goldenpig and welcome to the world baby Winnie and well done that Obs man!

well, I say blond, its blondish - will put a pic up tomorrow. I have been every colour under the sun and then some am forever chopping and changing the hair. Thought a lighter colour might give me poor ould exhausted visog a bit of a lift.

37 items jw? gulp.

tee that doesn't sound like hiccups - sounds lie kicking and punching! hiccups is more like little jumps in the bump.

johnworf · 01/05/2009 20:44

aye 37. I'd like to say I've got far too much time on my hands........ a few bits for K but most of it is for me. I won't win it all. No chance. There is a fab pair of red LK Bennett heels I very much want. And I've gone scarf mad...nice ones to dress up a plain top.

OOOH JJ Good luck with your tent watching. It's a shame there are far too many major motorways between us as you could have used ours as a taster tent

tee your baby has very good or bad timing, depending on how you look at it. It's gone into persecute mummy mode.

jeanjeannie · 01/05/2009 21:11

DON'T mention LK Bennett....I'm still in lurve with this skirt I can't tell you how amazing it looked, it hung so well and the irridescent bluey/green...OOOOooo, it was the sort of item of clothing that made you look really good - all sculpted and feminine. And of course....I'd HAVE to have the strappy sandals to go with it But SOOOOOO expensive

this skirt is the French Connection one and it did look lovely, fitted beautifully but not as 'special' as the other one.

*sigh....I want cake

mrsboogie · 01/05/2009 22:41

oooohh why did you post that link jj now you've gone and made me see this

Tee2072 · 02/05/2009 07:53

Good morning ladies!

Off to Ikea again. Maybe I should just move in there? Two more pieces to buy for baby and some storage for me and we are done! Well, except for the arrival of said baby.

JJ and mrsb very pretty skirts! I have been drooling over all the things I wish I could buy right now. But kinda pointless, since I've gained glup almost 30 lbs with this baby! What are the odds the baby weighs 29 lbs?

iris two more weeks!! And this is a short week and I don't work on Fridays so only 8 more work days! I can.not.wait.

Have a nice day all!

OP posts:
johnworf · 02/05/2009 08:21

tee happy hunting in Ikea. Avoid meatballs at all costs as they are far to0 scrummy.

mrsb and JJ I need to have words with you two ladies. You're making me look at links that could, nay, will make me spend money Lovely links all of them and I can just envisage them hanging in my wardrobe waiting to be worn by my good self. Have you had a nosey on Ebay to see if there's anything similar (and cheaper)?

I do like LK Bennett. A lot. I keep tring to explain to DH that ok, it costs a lot to buy (even second hand) but they are such great quality that they'll last (me) forever. He can't see the bigger picture though

Anyway, sun is shining here! Not sure if it's warm though as not ventured out yet. K is in her cot asleep and DH is in his pit. Just having a coffee chaser after the laxatives. Beautiful

No plans for today but we're thinking if the weather is nice, then we'll be off out with the girl.

Oh, before I forget, interesting article about midwife shortages on here

Also found an article re Alli. Knew it wouldn't be long SiL has ordered it online (no idea why as her BMI must be almost 40) and the wait is currently 4 weeks due to overwhelming demand. Anyway, here's what the DM has to say about it

iris66 · 02/05/2009 08:55

Tee 2 weeks to go!! flies by doesn't it - though training someone up has got to be the very worst bit . Enjoy your ikea trip (best baby buy I ever made was their cheapo plastic high chair. It's sooo easy to clean and miles better than the tank like chicco polly we had before)

jj - DH had had a vastectomy during his previous marriage. It was reversed after we'd been together about 7yrs (I got pg with DS1 within 4 mths) It's become evident that we're both rather fertile so we thought it best to get him done again (and checked) before this one came along

jw I agree - all these links and talk of shopping is most disturbing though I did pop into monsoon yesterday and had to buy this and this but in bright red it
's my hormones

Doesn't look too good out theer today but I'm on my second load of washing so it'll go out anyway. I promised the boys we'd go to feed the ducks so we're off for a walk. Have a good day ladies

iris66 · 02/05/2009 08:57

goldenpig - huge congratulations by the way. I love the name too Hope you're relaxing in a loved up fug of babiness.

johnworf · 02/05/2009 09:21

lovely monsoon stuff iris Love the bolero.

goes off to find more stuff she doesn't need

heron22 · 02/05/2009 09:31

jw well done on your weight loss!

hi all, it is a sunny day here today. not sure how long it will last tho. meant to be wet tomorrow. so will make sure i go out today! DS1 is going to dentist for checkup with DH today.

i had PND after birth of DS1. when preg with DS2, at around 35 weeks, i started taking antidepressants after consulting with psychiatrist. still taking it now. just 5mg per day, real low dose. am feeling fine. but doc said i have to take it for another year or so before coming off it, slowly. the medicine has made a world of difference.
