Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 15:29

Oh and Yes, jw they were the very same boots!!

iris66 · 04/05/2009 16:15

Afternoon all. We got back just before the heavens opened!! talk about good timing. The boys had a ball, racing round like loons and DS1 was so good with all the food about saying "I can't have/don't like that it makes my skin sore" about everything, bless him (unlike DS2, the human dustbin, who was grabbing everything he could get his mits on - good job he's allergy free!) I have to say that I'm absolutely shattered again though I'm not sure whether I keep getting BH or whether the baby just keeps stretching sideways very slowly either way it's going to be another very early night chez iris.

heron - phew! - and congratulations on finding your paperwork

duchesse - the effort the sling lady clearly puts in swung it for me too - and they're hardly any cheaper secondhand on E-bay. I had a huge wrap around material sling for DS1 from Calin Bleu and it was just such a faff getting it on and off I sold it (which funded my new purchase nicely. Guilt free shopping I like )
Awful news about the lady on your antenatal thread BTW. Poor thing must be in bits. Hope her LO pulls through OK.

Anyhoo I really need to go & sit in a comfy chair awhile before doing the boys tea.

iris66 · 04/05/2009 16:17

By the way...does anyone know if you're more likely to get BH earlier with subsequent pgs? (or am I just overdoing it ?)

johnworf · 04/05/2009 16:54

duchesse just noticed your post re the early arrival. K was 24+3. All I can say is there are no guarantees at this stage. Hope and pray he pulls through and gets stronger as each day comes. Mum has a long journey ahead of her and there are sure to be lots of bumps in it. You often go backwards before you go forwards too. Such early days ...I don't envy her but send my best wishes to both that they are both hanging on in there

If she wants any advice (if I can offer any) then please tell her to get in touch.

JW xxxx

heron22 · 04/05/2009 17:14

jw ur too right, brain is still all cloudy! when i am feeding LO, i do these brain quizzes and i tell you, i dont get very high scores !

duchesse · 04/05/2009 17:16

I will if she comes back on with better news JW, but at the moment all she's reported is that he is very sick.

duchesse · 04/05/2009 17:20

Your little K is a miracle baby JW. I hadn't remembered quite how early she was, but I'm really impressed she's not even requiring oxygen any more. My only other contact with babies born so early was with a set of twins, who were both on oxygen for ages (the little boy until he was over 2) and very sick even into their 3 year.

ermintrude13 · 04/05/2009 18:07

JJ My RC comp in Sheffield missed out on vampires entirely. I didn't even have dirtbag bfs like JW can boast about - was far too square and Catholic for that sort of business. Plenty of repressed lust which was a shame in some ways but probably better all round in the long run [tries to convince herself emoticon].

And JW - remember, in but a few weeks I shall be tied to house and hearth - by dint of being a milking parlour - for several months so am making the most of my last Going Out opportunities...

iris I've been having plenty of uterine tightening for a few months and in the past week (I'm nearly 34 wks) they've become more distinct and with a bit of period-type pain, so I think only these latter ones are proper BH. But if you've had previous pregs I think it's more likely your uterus will start BH earlier, having already changed in size before.

duchesse hope the lady and her LO on your thread are doing OK

johnworf · 04/05/2009 18:23

Yes duchess he will no doubt be very sick at the moment, poor thing It's a waiting game at the mo and I hope the poor lady in question musters the strength she'll need to be living, more or less, on the NICU.

K has come a long way in such a short time. She was on O2 until the end of 2008 but she still has chronic lung disease which she'll hopefully grow out of and of course the PDA (heart duct) and the eyes are still under review. In the grand scheme, yes, she's done fantastically

The thing is with extreme premmies is that no one can foresee what long term problems they might have. Hopefully the lady on your thread will encounter not too many.

ermintrude well done for getting out so much. We made the most of it this time last year before K descended on us early I'm just envious as we've not been out together since September when she came home. I'm hoping that we'll get out in July for my b'day/wedding anniversary. I would like to go to the theatre (DH hates it with a vengeance for some unknown reason) and if there is something that takes my fancy around that time then I'll book. Alternatively I'd like to go to the Bridgewater Hall and see the Halle

mrsboogie · 04/05/2009 19:26

Hullo all

Yes K is a marvel of a little lady - was just telling my OH on our way into town about how she is almost one - he Knows all about her cos of her being due at the same time as D and has been having updates on her progress.

we had great plans to go to Castle Howard today and see all the Brideshead stuff etc but the weather was too horrible - If I'm paying £8.50 to get into a garden it had bloody well better be sunny.

So we went into town instead to see if we could get one of ]]www.habitat.co.uk/fcp/product/browse/Kids-ride-on-car/994582 these]] for D but of course they were all gone. Gutted.

Speaking of the bread aisle we went to Marks and Spencers and there was some poor soul spark out in the veggie aisle surrounded by paramedics who were mopping up puddles of some liquid which I didn't look too closely at with kitchen roll.

Have missed loads here today. must go and catch up..

Oh jw Ken does leave Deirdre but he isn't leaving Corrie. We are already past the point where his wife died in RL so I imagine he will be out of it for a short while.

mrsboogie · 04/05/2009 19:29

I meant this Hmm

johnworf · 04/05/2009 20:19

OMG mrsb. M&S has it's very own murder mystery event. I think it was the butler, in the bread aisle with the fairy liquid

Castle Howerd is lovely. When I went I got all caught up with my imagination thinking about how it'd be nice if Anthony Andrews jumped out of a rhodedenron bush and swept me away......obviously I'm a loon.

Awww thanks for telling your OH about madam. I can see his eyes glazing over as I type He he. Just joking. Lovely that he takes an interest.

I'm thinking of therapy. I just can't get over Ken's departure. How could he leave without telling me? Left holding the baby

johnworf · 04/05/2009 20:20

Btw, I WANT nay NEED, that car. Pronto. It's better than our Doblo and probably goes faster too.

mrsboogie · 04/05/2009 20:25

it's lovely innit?

don't worry jw Ken will be back...

jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 20:40

I can see you driving that car jw New dress, chiffon scarf flying in the breeeze, K sat next to you in a wild Scandinavian printed frock .....ah, yes, it's much more you than the Doblo

mrsB OOooo, that's nasty...perhaps it wasn't just a murder.....perhaps it was an M&S Murder Is cleaning up bodily fluids with a bit of old kitchen roll, NHS standard these days...pah!

Impromptu visit from FIL today and he bought 2 HUGE bars of Toblerone, a SLAB of white chocolate and a box of Belgium chocolates ...WHAH....WHY?? We've said so many times NO, NO, NO! And I was doing so well on the weight loss....the 10st something was in my sights

Ken.....NO....he's like my Dad, I've known of him so long. Then again I used to think Captain Mainwairing was my grandad...

Tee2072 · 04/05/2009 20:52

LOL JJ.

Some days I would bet M&S regret that ad campaign...

DH and I have a jar where we dump our change. That's our mad money. Totally for playing with. Counted it tonight...£216!! Whatever shall I do with my half?!?! I am thinking spa day!

Of course in the middle of the great change count, I spilled my hot chocolate everywhere. Why, yes, of course I cried. I'm 7.5 months preggers for gods sake, I cry at TV adverts!!

JW also totally want that car.

I cannot join in the Ken sobs. I have no idea who or what you are talking about.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 04/05/2009 21:51

He didn't go

jeanjeannie · 04/05/2009 22:05

Poor Martha. What was Ken thinking?

johnworf · 04/05/2009 22:07

I missed it mrsb as DH was watching snooker/darts/rugby or something else Anyway, I was out driving Miss Daisy to get her to sleep.

Ah Capt Mainwaring was your grandad then? I always wanted to marry John Le Measurier.

Toblerone you say? Lordy. The mere thought of one makes me drool. Save me the paper so I can sniff it

Ha ha @ M&S murder ad

tee you've reached the clumsy stage of pregnancy. Well done. You win a prize...a baby in 2 months time. shakes hands and gives her an IOU for 'one baby'

johnworf · 04/05/2009 22:08

Ken heard my cries of despair and decided to stay.

mrsboogie · 04/05/2009 22:32

but on Friday Deirdre reads his letter - so he can't be going home either...

Toblerone eh? sigh.

/drools

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 04/05/2009 22:34

Hello everyone
keep lurking thinking 'this is where i belong' (sigh!) as i am mature like you ladies

anyway considering ttc soon ...I am already 41 and worried that my time will suddenly run out!

Tee2072 · 05/05/2009 08:10

Good morning ladies!

Welcome paulayatesbiggestfan! Your time is not running out!! Do go on and TTC.

Horrid nights sleep. Of course on a work night. I slept like the dead Sunday night, with the holiday Monday.

OOh 27 cases of Swine Flu. Run for the hills.

JW I was already clumsy! Being pregnant just makes it worse!!!

Off to continue training my replacement. And go to Antenatal Clinic this PM.

The fun never ends...

jeanjeannie · 05/05/2009 09:06

Morning all. WHY doesn't Verity sleep..why? I shall make the winner rich beyond their wildest dreams

Welcome paulayatesbiggestfan Mature at 41....well, our most recent LO to arrive here on this thread was born to a 46yr old...so I'm thinking you've got plenty of time!

Have you got other DC? Just don't forget....plenty of practise gets the desired result more quickly...and it loads of fun I was single at 39. Met DP weeks before 40, preggie in 6 months and had DD2 at 42 Like I say, plenty of practise as apparently our eggs can be rascals at our age and drop at any time!! Why are you just considering it...anything holding you back?? Oh you DO belong here...you know a thread full of barking 40 somethings is where you're meant to be

tee have fun at clinic this afternoon...sorry you had a rotten night - I share your pain.

johnworf · 05/05/2009 09:09

Morning ladies.

Pouring with rain here. Well it has been a bank holiday weekend so why wouldn't it be raining?

I think my DH's had a case of swine flu for years......

Weldome paulayatesbiggestfan. Not sure that we're mature - except for our years Otherwise we're probably more barking than those half our ages. yay!

tee have fun at the AN clinic. Two hours of waiting is such fun. Not.

Must watch corrie this week as not seen it properly for weeks. Looking forward to friday and dreary and the letter. Note to self: get out more.

I'm off to John Lewis later this afternoon with DD#1. I've actually bought 2 dresses from Ebay up to now and bidding on a 3rd. 2French Connection ones to go with the FWM one. No worries as they'll get worn (as long as I don't lose too much weight) and if not, then back on Ebay

Are we all happy today?
