Hello everyone - yet another thread. I'm expecting a call anyday soon from ITV - as I imagine we'll be prime candidates for taking over the Loose Women slot when they need a break

So, for anyone interested in joining in with us - just jump in and say Hi - we don't bite - unless you're disguised as a chocolate sponge cake

Ladies..................Take it away

Evening all

YAYAYA for good scan news all the way around!

I've never watched Eastenders, so I have no opinion!

Did however just recently get hooked on The Apprentice.

Baby has been really really active today! Started about 3:30 this morning and has pretty much not stopped! Probably means that it'll sleep all day tomorrow and worry me to death when I feel nothing.

cowworker has come up with another doozy. I mentioned that I was hoping to have a nice lie in tomorrow, since its my day off and she replied 'you can't lie in when you're pregnant!' to which I replied 'why not?!?' to which she replied 'you're too uncomfortable!' To which I replied 'must have sucked to be you then.' She also implied that I must get the anaemia taken care of because, of course, I was going to have section, due to the diabetes. I just rolled my eyes at that one.

iris66 · 02/04/2009 21:06

sorry if I'm being thick but what's the DM website?

Tee2072 · 02/04/2009 21:07

Daily Mail, iris

iris66 · 02/04/2009 21:12

oh god I feel really thick now for not realising that - thanks Tee and love the sound of your cowworker [shakes head in disbelief]

jeanjeannie · 02/04/2009 21:17

Evening all. Iris it's the Daily Mail

triggles good news on the scan

Gosh, I gave up Eastenders a long time ago - I like my soaps light and fragant! Corrie is the only one for me - even when people are killing folk, it's always interspersed with something light-hearted!

Knackered too joins jw* in knackerdness!
Went to the park this afternoon - and walked back - why? - up a hill with a double buggy Barking.

Had horrid experience when two pit bulls (I kid you not - enormous things - twice the size of Staffordshire terriers) went for each other outside the house. Turns out a 'problem' family have been allocated the house on the corner....which has just been vacated by another family who were found to be running a knocking shop from it. Really sad. Getting fed up with what the girls are likely to grow up and see on their doorsteps.....and this is supposed to be an 'OK' road We don't want to have to move but getting fed up with the drugs and the dealing - now they're getting the dogs - which, having lived in Brixton - usually means that it's hard-core. Rant over...just feeling miserable about it all....ho hum!

I'm wishing I had a big bag of Doritos in front of me. With a mars bar chaser. I'm having to do with some lip balm I bought. It is honey flavour. I dunno...I feel like eating the damn thing.

I must say though, when you're carrying around a 15lb (15lb 1oz to be precise) baby all the time, you realise how much fat really weighs. I want to lose another 2 stone so really it's a Katherine in each arm I'm heaving around that I shouldn't be. No wonder I'm tired! These people who are 35 stone, it's a wonder they can get out of bed (maybe they can't actually get out of bed, not sure).

tee the woman you work with is a royal pain in the ass but you haven't long to go now so just nod and shut your ears. I find doing mental 'la la la' works for me

I've got this really crazy crush going on for the man who presents Homes under the Hammer. He's yuck! And he wears terrible clothes I dunno what it is about him. Maybe it's nothing about him and more about my dull life. He's a safe distraction though so I'll leave it there

johnworf · 02/04/2009 21:23

Bloody hell jj I know where I've seen your house now - on Shameless! Just joking dear but I think I'd also be considering moving. Brothel? Drugs? Pit bulls? Mon dieu!

Yes, why are you pushing double buggies up hills when you're already surviving on 1 hours kip? eh??? Crazee. But you knew that already

jeanjeannie · 02/04/2009 21:33

OMG jw I think pushing buggies up hills is less crazed than finding that Martin bloke (he of the flicked hair)attractive He's got the Jeremy Clarkson school of attire!

I too need to get out more! Although the energy required to do so defeats me. If I went running then I could probably lose the stone and a half I need to in order to get out of the 'overweight' BMI category. I could run away from the pit bulls I'm sure

Yeah - it is like Shameless - which is indeed a shame because if you were to drive down the road you'd never guess - you'd think it was ok.

Verity crying ...again.....gawd

OP posts:
iris66 · 02/04/2009 21:36

just to be clear - because I'm getting seriously (and probably hormonally)paranoid now - I don't actually like eastenders, I complain bitterly that DH has to watch every episode and it's only that I'm a dutiful wife that I follow the dire, wrist slittingly depressing storylines OK?

...........and yes, I know you're now thinking "maybe the lady doth protest too much" but I don't care [iris sticks her chin out in, what she hopes is a petulant pose - but fails to hold it convincingly and starts smirking...bugger ]

jeanjeanie - sounds like you've gone from bad to worse on the neighbour front. Poor you. Scary dogs are the last thing you need around with LOs

johnworf · 02/04/2009 21:38

JJ just to correct your post. The object of my desire (?) doesn't have flicked hair anymore. It's more of a non trendy spikey gel type affair. It doesn't enhance him at all and he's still yuck. Obviously he's my Mr Yuck though.

Tee hee

Poor Verity.

And anyway, the amount of times you go up and down those stairs everynight, surely you're a size zero?

sissy0928 · 02/04/2009 21:39

Tee, sounds like your coworker needs a gag... tell her to shut her hole!

Jeanjeannie, sorry about the neighbor troubles...we moved into a new development here, it's way out in the desert, and about 2 months ago someone discovered a bone in the empty lot next to our development and since then they've found 13 bodies buried! (12 women, 1 with a fetus)It's a nightmare.

johnworf · 02/04/2009 21:43

OMFG! He's got his own website! www.martinroberts.co.uk/

I wonder if has a fan club

Tee2072 · 02/04/2009 21:43

My god, sissy!! How horrible!

Ya almost had me believing you iris!!

JJ More teething? Or just being cranky because she can be?

Sounds like a real winner JW.

johnworf · 02/04/2009 21:48

sissy that's frightening. Which desert is it? Obviously you're not in the UK as we have no deserts.

jeanjeannie · 02/04/2009 21:57

I'm back - she just needed a nipple to suck on

jw OMG - he's so slick! I see what you mean about the hair.

If only running up stairs made for a svelt figure... Very peeved that at a size 12 I've still got a BMI of 27

iris I believe you....honest

sissy that's awful. Yes, do tell - which desert? (not to be confused with dessert ) I'm going for 10 to 1 it's the Gobi Desert

OP posts:
sissy0928 · 02/04/2009 23:41

I know it's awful...I live in the US, state of New Mexico, exactly. Very sad thing, it's gotten a lot of attention, naturally. They are still there every day digging and sifting through the sand...police patrol it 24 hours a day. Creepy. Since I moved here, I can't believe how many terrible crimes are committed here, I don't get it.

Who is this Martin Roberts?

heron22 · 03/04/2009 07:49

jeanjennie i wish 6 kgs was my boobs, i seriously doubt it

ah, weight loss... i must stop reaching for cheesecake

Tee2072 · 03/04/2009 08:14

sissy I didn't realize you live in the States. I'm an American, who lives in Belfast! How do you like it?

I just a lovely long sleep with a lie in to 8:00a! That's forever for me!

So off to get blood taken soon and then to do some shopping.

Oh and DH looks at me this morning and says 'You look very pregnant today.' Thanks dear!

peachyfox · 03/04/2009 09:08

sissy I was nearly down your way a couple of years ago, drove with a friend from Phoenix to San Diego. Very Thelma and Louise (well, no Brad Pitt but you work with what you've got). Amazing trip, amazing scenery, made all the more dramatic as my friend discovered half way that she was pregnant for the 1st time at 43!

Horrible to find bones though, hope things settle down a bit.

I'm a bit cross today - paid for a v. expensive haircut yesterday, going to great pains to explain minimum length of top layer but to no avail. Grrrr... why do hairdressers have such selective hearing?

Tee my DP says 'ohmygod you're HUGE* nearly every time I walk in the room. He doesn't seem to get that I'm only half way there...

Checked out the Martin Roberts website but I'm not really 'feeling the love'... now cake, on the other hand, there's something I can get worked up about. Berlin specialises in donuts, they are on every corner... oh dear.

JW rofl at your lip balm - does it come in cake flavour? Honey sounds a bit virtuous...

I got up in the night to scour the fridge but ended up eating nutella out of the jar. Is that very bad? No wait, don't answer that...

duchesse · 03/04/2009 10:00

Sissy- I'd imagine your area has a lot of issues with drugs and illegal immigration across the border. Ciudad Juarez seems to be forever in the news even here. It's a tragedy, so many people seem to be dying.

jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 10:19

Morning all - I'm living life at the speed of a fly today.....should take off the pounds if the input over output ratio is to be believed

peachy you really make me laugh - you should write a blog/book - I'd actually read it Sorry about the hair - I know exactly what you mean by minimum top length. I have wavy, dry hair and if that top layer is a mere cm too short then woosh....it's an 80s bubble cut for at least 6 weeks ! I did the open-top car drive from San Fran to San Diego with a mate - we didn't have a Brad Pitt either

sissy wow I was WAY out with the Gobi eh?! The Mexican border is grabbing a lot of headlines here, sounds as though it's quite out of control - not good at all. My mate has moved to San Diego and she's part of the big naval base there and even there - with all the tight security she says you can see it happening. It must be very un-nerving to have it all happening right under your nose.

Well, got to get a shopping trip in before three neighbours come to ours for a gossip and tea, to talk about the new (bad) family. Turns out it's a housing association who have gone against the council's wishes and shouldn't have put a 'problem' family in that house Not because we're 'nimbies' but because there are access roads behind both sides of the street and they are a breeding ground for dealers - so families with a history of ASBO etc aren't to be put where temptation lay on their doorstep. Stupid, stupid association. In just two days we've had the police round twice

Righty ho - I'm off to the shops. tee have fun (?) having the blood taken and don't worry about looking pregnant - you want to worry when your DH buys you dungarees....mine did...and I was scared

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 03/04/2009 10:44

Sissy; How terrible!..as JJ says, very un-nerving having it right under your nose.

Very of peachy and JJ both having done San Fran to San Diego in open topped cars... best I have done is NY state; Albany/fingerlakes/Niagra (in a hire car without aircon)with Dh.

Tee glad you got a good nights sleep..so did I..
...which leads to my Breaking News ...

...cue drum roll..
..... Alexander has slept through for the first time EVER!!!!! 10pm-6.15am ....

it has only taken him 18 months!

..I was beginning to think he would hit puberty first!

I don't expect much for tonight but he has done it once now...we can have hope

jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 10:50

OMG floria that's FAB news I can SO, SO, SO understand your joy.....*sends flowers!!

Oh they are little b*ggers sometimes aren't they?! I'm still waiting for Iris to be able to use a spoon properly....I reckon I'll be helping her out at her wedding reception. Wouldn't be so bad but at 10 months Verity has already worked it out and ate half of her breaky this morning herself

Tee hee....Floria ....I've done NYNY to Niagra too AND I had aircon !!!

Not going to shops now. Veirty is still asleep after another bad night - so I'm leaving her. We have rations, we'll be fine. I can boil an old sock and make stew if the sausages don't thaw in time for tea

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 03/04/2009 11:07

JJ lol at boiling the sock...hope the sausages thaw so it isn't necessary. Sorry V had a bad night and thank you for the flowers they really brighten my day
the aircon in NY....did you pretend you couldn't manage driving on the right so you could do all the wine sampling in the fingerlakes too?

Tee2072 · 03/04/2009 11:24

I have done San Fran to LA in a convertible. Tres fun! Was by myself though. No Thelma...or would that be Louise?

Shopping trip cancelled as was in Starbucks having decaf latte, croissant and some juice and started feeling woozy. Stopped at small Tesco instead and came on home.

Big conversation on June thread, which is better regular over night maxi pads or maternity pads for afters? What say you all?

floria tell Alexander I said WAY TO GO!! Hope he keeps doing it!
