OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VJay · 03/01/2009 13:17

And you fozzie, it's pants isn't it.

Fozzie78 · 03/01/2009 13:18

It really is.

dan39 · 03/01/2009 14:34

But remeber that while it needs checking out, bleeding is common. And brown blood is often old blood, or cervical erosion (which can be cos you have has sex?)

Anyway should have said welcome first!! To vjay and flossie this is def the place for you!

daisy impressive bump! I am 34 weeks and MASSIVE - might post a pic in fact...
dbno good to see you and well done on the list front - btw new ple ignore the list for as long as you need to - I added at about 22 weeks I think. And now I am nearly next - ! dbno have you donr the hypnobirthing classes? I have the book but haven't found any classes .... I am getting scared and also excited about the next bit.

dan39 · 03/01/2009 14:36

Sorry fozzie!! and olivio and ready - and sorry if I have missed/misspelt anyone else!! I wish you a long an uneventful stay.

Wheelybug · 03/01/2009 17:39

Hi All ! Happy New Year and welcome to all the new people. Sorry some of you are having a particularly worrying time. I so hope it all turns out ok. You are posting in the right place though as we all understand.

I reached 30 weeks yesterday . March suddenly seems very close now we're in January. I am going to get through DD's 4th birthday on 24 Jan before getting organised for the baby !

downbutnotout · 03/01/2009 18:06

Hi dan - am doing the classes now, but have been so ridiculously busy that I have not managed to fit them all in and will only just get there by 39 weeks. I would say that it would be useful to have the CDs as well if you can get them, although you may or may not find her voice helpful to you in relaxing. I think she sounds like a kindly old American granny, which works for me, but may be less successful for you!

VillageMum · 03/01/2009 19:17

downbutnotout thanks for the warm welcome!

VJay, I'm thinking of you and hoping that all goes well and that you will have no more discharge - also fozzie. olivo, come on here any time; it's always good to hear from you!

ready2pop, if you are 5 weeks now and took the lemsip etc before Christmas then it would only have been very shortly after implantation, before the embryo has any real interaction with your blood supply, so try not to worry - but check with your GP to set your mind at rest.

Oh ladies I'm panicking today because, having felt increasingly sick for the last week, I suddenly have no nausea at all since this morning. I'm trying not to read too much into it but if it doesn't start again soon it will really freak me out...

olivo · 03/01/2009 19:40

VM, mine disappeared a couple of days ago and i panicked, but today, i nearly puked on dd's head while i was holding her on the loo and felt strangely happy!

tsom · 03/01/2009 19:51

daisyj my ds1 was 9lbs at 38 weeks - I had actually consulted the medical textbooks to see if anyone had ever popped open through their belly before as it felt as if that would be imminent ( I'm 5'4" - and a half and also petite) plus had laparotomy scar only 6 months prior to conceiving ouch

welcome to all new faces, bleeding common, disappearing and reappearing symptoms also common judging by our collective experience, wish you all well for the coming difficult and nerve racking weeks

VillageMum · 04/01/2009 13:23

olivo and tsom, thanks for the reassuring words about morning sickness! After a day of feeling simply not pregnant any more (!) I feel sick again today and the relief in enormous. olivo, sadly I know exactly what you mean about feeling happy to be about to puke... Maybe I'll be able to get a grip the next time the sickness vanishes (but I doubt it!!)

VillageMum · 04/01/2009 13:29

Meant to ask after Vjay and Fozzie, thinking of you and hoping you're OK... x

congrats nattyplus2andahalf I hope you can start to enjoy your pregnancy now and relax.

Hows vjay today?

olivo and villagemum hows your sickness?
x

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 04/01/2009 16:17

fozzie ive had the horrid metallic thing, ive now come down with a horrid bug, could they be linked?

Fozzie78 · 04/01/2009 17:26

Hi the metallic taste i just a pregnancy symptom and meant to be very common, but maybe the bug could be related to your metallic tasta as i sometimes get that with colds i get x

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 04/01/2009 17:32

possibly. might be a bit of both! atm not sure if my sickness is bug or ms either!!

Fozzie78 · 04/01/2009 17:41

Probably both pregnancy symptom, hope you feel better soon xx

maz32 · 04/01/2009 20:24

LoobyLou36 · 05/01/2009 07:14

Morning Ladies and Happy New Year to new and old!

I'm 23+1 today but still can't relax about it all. DH keeps asking me if I'm happy, of course I am I'm just pessimistic sometimes I can't help it.
I was bought some baby clothes at christmas from MIL which I felt a bit funny about - silly I know.

I've been getting quite a bit of backache lately - is this normal?

mermaidspurse · 05/01/2009 09:40

uggh a 'normal' monday, I hate getting back to the routine after Christmas.
thankyou for the welcome, it makes all the difference. I have my fingers and toes crossed for vjay and fozzie hope your appointments go ok. The metallic taste and sore boobs are all brill signs.
I am panicing today as I dont feel sick, wondering if I should take baby asprin like some have mentioned and generally feeling a little out of control. 8 days to my consultants appointment feels like an age away and I keep reminding myself a day at a time...
wow daisyj that is a bump to be proud of, congratulations.
loobylou you just reminded me of what a long path we are treading, its not silly with the baby clothes, I'll probably be rushing into maternity with an empty suitcase!

herbaceous · 05/01/2009 10:14

Hello girls, and welcome newbies

Being back at work SMELLS. I've no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, just that there's a lot of it.

Unbelievably, I am now 15 weeks. Though I'm having a lot of difficulty believing I'm still pregnant. I don't feel ill any more, and apart from a growing belly and crazy boobs I wouldn't feel any different. Is this normal? I'm not seeing anyone until the 20-week scan, by which time I'll be entirely mad. Haven't had any letters or anything from hospital or midwife about appointments, and it turns out that my GP never sent the letter to the hospital. Great.

LoobyLou36 · 05/01/2009 10:25

herb did you not get a list of weeks to go to appointments at booking in?

My MW/GP/Consultant do not seem to send out letters regarding appointments, they rely on you contacting them. Which is all very well when you are functioning like a normal human being, but when you have PREG HEAD you struggle to work out what day it is sometimes .

dan39 · 05/01/2009 10:42

Herb I used my GP for this 'no mans land' stage, she was particularly sympathetic mind you, possible that yours isn't? Midwife also said that if I wanted to call at the weekly clinic just for reassurance (hb monitoring with a doppler) then that was ok too - ended up using GP more as I had a few (handy!) water infections.

Might be worth considering? Also looby is right you need to chase 'em up.

I am going to an acqua aerobics ante natal class now!! (Being off work is just THE BUSINESS)

herbaceous · 05/01/2009 10:56

Looby - that's mad... how is one supposed to know when to chase them up, if you don't know when you're supposed to have appointments? If it was up to my GP, I'd have had no scans, and would be drinking a bottle of wine a day to wash down my brie.

Hearing the heartbeat via a doppler would be good - thanks Dan, I may well investigate that option...

LoobyLou36 · 05/01/2009 11:03

herb i agree it is a stupid way of doing things. I haven't seen my MW since booking in 3 months ago so have made an appointment to go on Wed. I s'pose I'd better take a sample - another thing that no one told me I was supposed to do every time I saw doc/MW/consultant.

It's daft really especially as they are supposed to be monitoring me because of my existing high BP.
