Strong BHs, suddenly loads of colostum appearing, backache and I've booked my shopping to be delivered on Thursday, my due date. Do you think I've tempted fate enough?

I've added 2 bags of grapes to my online shop being dleivered THursday, due date.

Does it matter if they're red or green?! Have ordered green as they always make me poo more

I've had a shower and everything has stopped.....not surprisingly.

I want to have a spectacular water breaking incident or a big show rather than the little bits of pinkish discharge; at least then I'd know something was happening.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/10/2008 12:51

If they are washed down with pineapple or mango juice will this help?

MamaG · 28/10/2008 12:55

I quite fancy the idea of a big dramatic waters breaking incident in a shop [attention seeker]

ladytophamhatt · 28/10/2008 12:57

IIRC with ds3 it was tons of green grapes I consummed.

It was red with ds4....

CharleeInChains · 28/10/2008 12:58

I hear if your waters break in harrods you get a gift basket.. maybe you could loiter there for 2 weeks?

ToThrottleABlackBird · 28/10/2008 12:58

Just had mw here and had a sweep. Also got an appt to be induced THURSDAY!!

soremummy · 28/10/2008 13:05

Best of luck Blackbird hope he arrives before then for you.

MamaG · 28/10/2008 13:13

oh nice one Blackbird! Hopefully the sweep will get things going, how did you find it?

Charlee, Harrods is a bit far for me as I live in Cumbria

OP posts:
Flum · 28/10/2008 13:21

Ho hum. Miriam Stoppard says 80% of babies arrive after due date due to the way it is calculated from 1-2 weeks pre-conception so due date should actually be wk 41. This is the date used on the continent. Apparently.
So I am not even late. And you are all waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of yourselves.

CharleeInChains · 28/10/2008 13:22

Hmmm no Harrods? Maybe a Next? failing that Tesco!

mum2jakeyroo · 28/10/2008 13:39

go for asda - its only down road from hosp and you get vouchers. That was my only complaint to dp - he delivered me to hosp car park and not asda - what a fool. lol

expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 13:49

back from midwife.

baby is in position, but 'comfortable'. his head's a bit lower, but not much.

i go back on Sunday and IF and only IF his head is lower will they do the sweep.

but they will schedule the induction date on sunday for Paisley.

because sometimes they get busy there and then you can't get on the books till later and of course you can always cancel.

i hope.

haaahaahaaa.

expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 13:50

he's not coming out, folks.

MamaG · 28/10/2008 13:52

Do you mean they'll induce on Sunday, or set the date? I think you mean set the date don't you?

Have you got a birthing ball to encourage his head to get the hell down a bit more?!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 13:55

they'll set the date for induction on Sunday.

and do a sweep if it's possible.

but otherwise, here we come, November!

i'm on my ball just now.

i spend at least an hour a day on it.

MamaG · 28/10/2008 13:55

I need to spend more time on my ball I think

but its a bit low when i'm at the computer

Yeah, we are def having November babies.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 28/10/2008 14:05

I need to get on my ball as well as I'm sure the sofa isn't good for baby's position.

I bought a wee laptop table in IKEA, mainly cos the pooter falls off my lap now , but I can adjust it to the right height for the ball.

blackbird, fingers crossed the sweep has the desired effect overnight.

are Tesco any good for vouchers?

ToThrottleABlackBird · 28/10/2008 14:10

Oh jeez, I am more than likely having a hallowe'en baby
Get on your hands and knees and get wiggling girls

expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 15:55

ouch!

random contractions again.

off to drink some water adn take the two paracetemol to knock them off. might try a bath.

of course, it now looks like it's going to snow.

[pictures the high drama of an ambulance dash to hospital in a snowstorm]

IF i'm going to go into labour, it would be now!

MamaG · 28/10/2008 16:32

Go expat! Sounds more promising than my backache/Asda delivery combo

Hopefully the paracetamol haven't worked because its Proper Labour and I can be all delighted and jealous for you at the same time!!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 16:40

i think he's just getting in position for his sweep.

his head is still high up!

MamaG · 28/10/2008 16:43

scorpio told me about a thing you can do to encourage downwards thingy

its some sort of lentilly-hippy thing apparently but it may work

pinch the skin between your thumb and forefinger, hard, for count of 10

worth a go?

OP posts:
littlelamb · 28/10/2008 17:00

Expat try having a bath. I had a quite hot one when I was a week overdue, my waters broke as I got out and he was born 3.5 hours later! He never did engage either, and there was never any sign that things were about to happen- they just did

expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 17:06

paracetamol worked.

again!

i'm going to try a bath and the pinch the skin thing.

they can't even do the damn sweep if he stays this high.

and i think i've pretty much worn out DH for a day or two, IYKWIM .
