my DH sighed when he got in from work in a "not again" way when I looked at him and said "no signs"

Do you have any clary sage? I can post you the remainder of my bottle tomorrow if you like (offer applies to anyone if expat doesn't want it- can't see myself being desperate to burn that stuff ever again!)

expatinscotland · 28/10/2008 17:13

what do you do with clary sage? whiff it? put it in the bath?

i've got rosemary oil. head that's supposed to help.

ate a soup loaded with it yesterday.

it did nowt.

midwife remarked, 'he's awfully comfortable in there.'

littlelamb · 28/10/2008 17:15

I put it in the bath and buurned it in an oil burner. Did absolutely FA for me but you never know eh?

MissyK · 28/10/2008 17:40

Hi guys, I've been keeping an eye on this thread, just thought I'd say hi & good luck.

Ref Clary Sage it worked for me.. I was having the odd contraction, put it in the bath & then I started to have really strong regular contractions. Though the smell of the stuff did make me feel sick, at least it got the baby out. I was 41+1, living in Germany & determined not to be induced..

There wasn't anything I wouldn't try for those last few weeks!

ToThrottleABlackBird · 28/10/2008 17:40

I used clary sage from 37weeks, in the bath, burnt it and rubbed it in and it hasnt worked.

ILikeToScareYouScareYou · 28/10/2008 19:42

Clary sage - I sniffed it int he last week of pg and it gave me strong bh's. So if it works for you and you use it when you are having minor contractions I wouldn't be suprised if it strengthens them.

Moving baby's head down -

Lunges with one foot on the bottom stair.

Walking up the stairs sideways.

Walking with one foot on the kerb and one on the road.

Doing figures of eight with the birthing ball.

My babies have never fully enagaged. DS was high and 2/5 engaged at 4.30 am and was born 4 hours later.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/10/2008 20:37

Well I've got my grapes and evening primrose oil.

Would clary sage be OK to use for a VBA2C attempt or might it put too much strain on the uterus? I've been advised against RLT.

mum2jakeyroo · 28/10/2008 21:07

Missed that post earlier mamag. i had both ds1 and ds2 in lanc but went back to kendal afterwards for a couple of dayswith each. Aftercare is superb. Had ds3 at 3.45pm on Monday and planned to come out on Tuesday but ended up staying in and coming out Wed instead just to get some rest. Good luck

mum2jakeyroo · 28/10/2008 23:26

I now officially live in North Yorkshire where 'ham is bent'. Am I right in thinking you live in a place that grows on trees?

mum2jakeyroo · 29/10/2008 11:26

Really blackbird - in the middle of nowhere? Induction not that bad. I've had 2 but last one in the car with no pain relief was definitely the easiest.
