OOh and I forgot to say wow, herbaceous, I'm so excited you're here. I remember you from the Hut!

Wheelybug · 04/11/2008 14:20

Congrats LackaDaisy !! Hope all is going well !

Roquefort - glad the GP was sympathetic and that you now have a course of action at least. It must be very stressful for you.

Looby - I have a 'less than' 28 inch leg (not actually sure how long short they are but I always have to shorten most petites. Sigh. Anyway, Next are pretty good for length but come up quite big. I am a size 10 although suspect I am edging up towards a 12 and my size 10 next maternity stuff is roomy.

TMD - my period took 6 weeks to arrive after a m/c at 6.5 weeks. Take care of yourself.

Ses - hope the consultant appointment goes well.

I have my scan on friday (3 days to go) and am getting nervous. I will be 22 weeks and will find out if I'm having growth issues again or not (I've probably said all this before so sorry if I am being repetitive). I also see the consultant straight after which is good. Last time with dd, they didn 't schedule consultant apointments at the same time as scans so I would have to stew in my thoughts until I saw a consultant. At least this way we can discuss any immediate concerns. And then of course, there are all the other things that can go wrong..... worry worry worry. I think this scan will be a major mile stone to get through. I might actually believe its happening if all is ok.

Wheelybug · 04/11/2008 14:21

oh and on a lighter note, if they tell me the baby is small I shall be v. embarrassed I seriously look like a weeble already. If its not baby it must be bacon sandwiches .

daisy5 · 04/11/2008 16:01

A wonderful story lackadaisy - I'm all emotional now. Congratulations - I'm so happy for you.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/11/2008 16:29

some news from our postnatal thread.....

CriCri had her baby at 6.30 this morning

A girl, Elise Vivienne, weighing 7lbs 15ozs. She had to transfer to hospital for an assisted delivery at the end, but both she and baby are well and should be allowed home later today.

Well Done CriCri

Roque good girl! you sound so calm and sensible, too...so now you just have to get thru the next week and see where you are. One day at a time is the only way!

Swali hope appt was ok - the first few times you wait to hear the thing pick up the HB are a nightmare as so scary - but it does get easier...let us know how you got on.

Looby the trousers are a nightmare, no other word for it...I think you need to try both over and under bump in a shop - even if you don't buy - to see which feels ok - people seems to be in one camp or the other! I have some ok black jeans from New Look, cheap, they go under. Try cheapie shops like that, then its not too much of a disaster if they don't work. The ebay thing is a bit random.

My pain is starting to really upset me - I think its my diaphragm that's all squished up. I really hope this isn't the next 3 months....am I just a wuss then?

dan if it makes you feel better I had pain with DD especially under my ribs where she seemed to jam her foot and puuuuuuuush. Ouch, ouch ouch. It got worse then a bit better as her head dropped. Maybe take some paracetamol if it's really bad tonight?

rfl I'm so glad you went to GP and have settled on a plan. I think you're being sensible waiting for scan to be more conclusive - I do admire your strength. x

looby - trouser tips - I got black skinny jeans from Next (£22) and they stay up (not sure if they do petite - I'll check. And a pair of black combat trousers from New Look which stay up with a belt, belt gets let out as the day goes on and belly expands.

wheely good luck with scan

lacks big congratulations to you and welcome home. Make sure you rest!!!

swali 1st movement feelings vary for person to person. Depends on lots of things. I think I often feel babe (16wks), but could just be wind until definite prods start.

Hope everything went all right ses

Swaliswan · 04/11/2008 19:54

My midwife appointment went well and she found the FHB easily. Blood, BP and urine all fine. Still large for dates but don't care atm. I think this will be another early baby though. I told the midwife that I think that what I'm feeling is just wind, not movement, but she wasn't so sure. I'm waiting for a proper kick

bunnyinheadlights · 04/11/2008 21:07

wow this thread moves fast in the few days that i havent checked!

welcome and hello to herby i remmeber you from the avengers thread and it is always lovely to see faces from there. i wish you lots of healthy baby dust and hope your scan gives you the results you want.

wow congrats to cricri and your baby girl. it seemed like yesterday that you were announcing your BFP!!! you must cme and tell us all!

wheely good luck on your scan - everything crossed for you for good news.

dan i know what you mean about baby in ribs. i get quite hard kicks and sometimes i think little bunny sticks a foot or hand there to get comfy (for her!). yoga teacher has taught me to "reach for the stars" to make more room - not sure if that really helps as i am a shorty and there's really not much room to begin with.

swali great to hear the FHB isnt it? proper full on kicks arent usually felt till after 20 weeks but certainly flutterings can be felt earlier. i used to think it was wind but in hindsight it was definitely flutters. only you will know your own body the best.

kate - hello! good to hear from you - how are you and are you on the road to TTC as i know from previous posts you were going to get tests done. i do hope to see you on this thread before long!

hello to everyone else!!

on my front, spent the weekend a bit pensive as it was the anniversary of ERPC of 1st mc. quite teary - in fact i read something in the papers (cant remember what now) which just made me cry and cry. dh asked me what was wrong and i said dont you remember it was 2 nov that i had the erpc - he said, um no, anyway it's irrelevant coz we have a healthy bump right now and we should be grateful. which i agree i am grateful for everyday, but i was also so sad. dh really thought i'd lost my marbles for being sad over something that;s been and gone... i feel bad for feeling sad, seeing i do have so much to be grateful for... anyway, sorry for the ramble...

LoobyLou - You're exactly a week ahead of me!

Consultant went ok but he was a bit concerned about my thyroid levels from my last blood test in September and so did another blood test. I need to phone up on Friday for result and if necessary increase my thyroxine intake again. He then wants me to have another blood test around 16th Dec and then go and see him and the endocrine specialist on 30th Dec! I'm sure it can't be causing too much of a problem as I remember MW telling me that by 12 weeks the baby is producing it's own thyroxine. It may be another reason as to why I'm feeling so tired though.

Sorry - on that topic - need to go off to bed. Sorry for not catching up properly...

LoobyLou36 · 05/11/2008 07:27

Morning Ladies. Thanks for all the trouser tips. I will have to go shopping - although where I live there (Hereford) there are only 2 shops that do maternity Mothercare and a small selection in New Look.

Glad things went okay with your consultant ses got mine next week hope my blood pressure is okay. MW was thinking I may have an early delivery if I have problems. My mother had eclampsia and I was born 5 wks early by emergency c section. But fingers crossed.

LoobyLou36 · 05/11/2008 07:29

ses I am also tired but might be part pg and part methyldopa tablets I take for blood pressure. Unless I'm in bed by 9 I wake up feeling like I've drunk 10 pints!! Mind you I have to be at work at 7 every morning so that probably doesn't help.

TMD · 05/11/2008 08:48

Thanks all for your advice sounds like I'll just have to be patient then!
Loubylou36 - I live in Hereford too DP's have a Maternity section at back on the right and they do leg lengths, plus next let you order in store from their catalogue and have it delivered to the store but you do have to pay for it when you order I think.

Well got the weekly shop to do this am so best get on.

ronshar · 05/11/2008 09:54

OMG HERBY how the bloody hell are you? I was scanning through the thread and there you were. What fantastic news. I bet you are a bit wobbly at the moment. Hang on in there, life has a brilliant way of working out when you arent looking.
I spent so long denying I was pregnant I missed the first 5 months of excitement and now I look back and feel sad that I didnt just relax and let myself enjoy my babies first few months and also my last time of being pregnant, which I had really enjoyed previously, was not the happy time I would have liked. Not that that makes me want to do it again mind you.

Brilliant news Daisy and Cricri. These babies dont make it easy for us all do they!!

Hello Snoop, where do you hide out during the day. Not seen you around. But saying that I havent been able to see straight through lack of sleep for the last 4 weeks. I still havent sorted out pictures. Rubbish.

Hello to everyone else. I hope all your scans this week have been all good news. (Wheely, Cece)
H Kate how are you? TTC yet or still enjoying stress free (ahemm) marital relations.

ronshar · 05/11/2008 09:57

Just a cheeky post. Would anyone be interested in my maternity clothe. I have 3 pairs of jeans. Topshop & New look. A denim skirt with elastic over bump. A listening monitor with PC attachment. A few t-shirts. No probs if not interested. Ebay next stop. Size would help. 12/14.

herbaceous · 05/11/2008 11:46

Heeeey Ronny. I feel oddly optimistic about this one. Probably an extreme form of defence mechanism, but I might even be right...

Having said that, I've got a scan this afternoon - should be nearly 7 weeks ? and keep getting waves of nerves whenever I think about it.

I would potentially like your maternity clothes, as it sounds like we're the same size, but fear that would be tempting fate...

Wheelybug · 05/11/2008 11:48

Thanks for all the good luck wishes - 2 days to go (although actually this morning I forgot about it as I started making other plans for fri morning....)

Ronshar - if you're happy to split the clothes, I would be interested in the skirt if its more 12 than 14 and also any long sleeve tops. If someone wants the lot and its easiest that's fine don't worry. CAT me or I can CAT you, let me know what you want for them if it works out !

Just been swimming - need a snooze now

SparkyMalarky · 05/11/2008 11:54

Dashing in to say good luck this afternoon herby - lots of sticky thoughts coming your way

Fab news on the babies - huge congratulations and hope you're getting some rest

RFL glad you saw your GP and have a plan - sounds like you're doing the right thing.

Swali - glad all went well at the MW

Ses - hope you're ok too - sounds like the consultant wants to keep an eye on you which is a good thing for you and bump

Helllooo to everyone else and I'll catch up on all the news properly when I have time (am multitasking at the office!)

Will update my details tomorrow after my scan I caved and went to Mamas and Papas yesterday when I was up in London town and got some fab jeans, that look like jeans and just have stretchy bits in the pockets and elastic round the back - come in 3 lengths and you can get them from mail order Will I be jinxing it too much if I wear them to the scan?
