Will post here rather than the old thread.

Congratulations to Wheely Bug; I remember you from here before

Congratulations also to Flossie, missEdith and nauseous ; I hope you are with us for the long haul. missEdith, I feeli like I should now who your are, but like popsy, brain is much and all I can think of is the cute stach of babygros and fluffy nappies that I have lovingly re-arranged for the umpteenth time this weekend

daisyj, your bedroom worries are completely natural, just be there for each other with lots of affection and things will settle themselves; then when the "rampant for it hormones" kick in during the second trimester, he won't stand a chance

Well done on all the recent scan results; seeing that wee heartbeat for the first time is really amazing, isn't it?

Can't remember who else said what...pregnancy brain again

Healthy and Well ladies; Healthy and Well

missedith Also hung up my running shoes as soon as bfp - after 3 m/c didn't seem worth it, don't miss it physically surprisingly (feel too grim) but found it hard in the first weeks when very stressed as I would normally run to destress.

Symptoms still come and go but have been strong this week (10 weeks) since had scan 1 week ago - dh says all in my mind

lol about mw and pants story - can't believe it

no action upstairs here either - too worried esp after spotting last week but am hoping for a second trimester highlight before apathy of third trimester and total lack of interest during BF - couldn't have mustered any enthus even for george clooney whilst BF ds2.

sussexos so sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself

Morning all, some of you refer to having early scans done privately... My hospital would probably be Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea. Would I go there - or somewhere else in London? Is it ridiculously expensive? Can you have one at any time? What's the best time to see a HB?
Sorry for all the quiestions, hope you can help. Have healthy weeks everyone.

nauseous · 08/09/2008 08:28

Feels very early to be doing this but whatthe hell. Trying to be positive though am deliberately wearing all my white knickers so as to make checking them easier... Added myself to the list...

nauseus I should be fairly close to you as my hospitals are QC and Kingston I use these people they are great and worth the money

tsom thanks I do so get that

cricri · 08/09/2008 10:16

Nauseous I would second MissEdith's recommendation of the FMC. I didn't go there for my early scan (I'm outside London) but DH and I went there for the NT scan at 12 weeks. The sonographers are wonderful and spend lots of time with you. Best time to go is 7-8 weeks to see a hb. If you go earlier and have an inconclusive scan it will make you feel worse. The average cost is around £100.

aquababe · 08/09/2008 10:20

sussex sorry to hear your news. hope your get all the support you need and can join us again soon

Wheelybug · 08/09/2008 12:05

My hospital is kingston too !! So I must be near you guys as well.

HAve heard FMC good but they wouldn't scan me as early as 7 weeks but recommended the Gynaecological Ultrasound Centre which is upstairs from them. I had two scans there - more expensive at £160 but so worth it (although tbh I wouldn't have one as early as 7 weeks as they couldn't be conclusive as my dates were very slightly out and it made a big difference). Although I did see a heartbeat and was somewhere between 6+4 and 7. Can look up the number if you want it.

missEdith · 08/09/2008 12:20

had a nose around ans yep Wheelybug you are very local to me

maybe it is the lack of sleep, but today I feel ever so slightly nauseous, not first thing but seems to linger in the background

dd (3) has a cold/ cough keeping us busy

daisyj · 08/09/2008 13:39

sussex - so so sorry. Really hope you're back here soon.

Congratualtions, nauseous - good to see you here

Thanks daisy. Feel desperate to get to second trimester. Today is the exact day (11 weeks - and a Monday, too) that I mc'd last time. Am feeling a bit teary, and trying to bury my head in work today.

I am going to add myself to the list as a gesture of defiance!

SesHasapinkline · 08/09/2008 15:23

Hi! Hope everyone's doing ok today. I phoned my EPU today to try and get an early scan. They won't see me until I'm 8 weeks on 1st October!! I know it's because they want to be able to know what's going on and hopefully see a hb but ut just seems so long away. Does anyone have any hints for keeping sane during the wait?

Swaliswan · 08/09/2008 15:59

Just a quickie from me. I'm still knicker checking and suffering from relentless nausea and tiredness - not what I need whilst I'm on a study week for my NVQ. I'm getting really fed up that people don't know why I feel so rubbish all of the time!

dan39 · 08/09/2008 16:20

Oh go on then - if you can do it in a defiant manner, daisyj then me too!! Have been dying to but scared to for ages but if those brave and positive souls a whole month after me can do it then I can too....

Phew thats scary!

Sussex I am so sorry - like everyone else I know how you feel and I really hope you will be back. missEdith hello and sticky thoughts to you , also nauseous hello and welcome and theres little point saying try not to worry about symptoms coming/going ... just get through the days however you can!

I am 19 weeks this week and just spoke to my midwife abouyt wanting a home birth and she was really negative, I was really hoping I would get a nice enthusiastic response, ah well will just have to gird my loins with my arguments. Sigh.

iliketosleep · 08/09/2008 17:12

I want to talk on here but not sure what to say

Brooke is thriving, lost 6oz at 2 days old then had put 7 back on by 6 days, she is now 12 days old and none of her newborn sleepsuits fit her

Hope everyone else is doing ok, haven't had chance to catch up properly but i will (did notice that DAISY is also a knocker checker had to put that out there) lol

"I can see there are lots of new knocker checkers so am off to catch up."

Wheelybug · 08/09/2008 17:16

ooh missedith - I also have a 3 year old dd....

Wheelybug · 08/09/2008 17:19

posted that before I'd finished...

meant to say - perhaps we know each other ?? How bizarre would that be ? Anyway, good luck !

LOL at Knocker checkers... Glad your LO is doing well ILTS.

Daisyj - hope your day goes ok.

daisyj · 08/09/2008 17:55

Yay dan for joining the list . Do you have nice bump yet, by the way? I'm dying to have one.

Why was your midwife so negative? What a shame. Do you know if there was any particular reason to be against the idea? Both this time and last mine asked at my booking-in appointment whether I'd considered it - I'd really like one and she seemed pretty postitive about it. Are you far from your local hospital? Just wondering if that's why she didn't like the idea. Would it be worth speaking to another mw to see if you get a better idea of what the general attitude is in your area?

ilts - LOL about the knockers. I check mine every morning religiously. The left one was a bit bigger this morning, which is unusual, as normally it's the other way around. Glad you and Brooke are doing well - impressive weight gain there!

ses - I'm all for treats to help keep yourself sane. Could you plan something nice for every few days till the scan, like going out for dinner, cinema, etc.? Not the cheapest way to pass the time, but it worked for me .

swaliswan - I've forgotten, how many weeks are you now? I know just what you mean. I've told quite a few people, but even so I'm starting to get fed up at having to keep it a secret at all. Also, when I feel crap on the train/tube I just have to squat down and hope someone takes pity on me, which they usually do. It's embarrassing, but I keep thinking I'm going to throw up or faint, and it's the only way to stop it. Hope you manage to get some work done in between feeling ropey.

Phew - pleased today is nearly over.

SesHasapinkline · 08/09/2008 18:05

Hi daisyj! I like your idea of treats Thank you!
We are going to be kept pretty busy though as due to move house! Hopefully we'll be exchanging contracts this Fri and then moving on Fri 26th. V exciting but we were meant to move in April and our buyers pulled out on the day of exchange. All happened within days of finding out about missed mc too. Seems random that we're now in Sept and due to move house again and due to have a scan again. Have persauded DH to get the removal company to do packing for us too as don't want to risk anything. I'm probably being too cautious but then is it possible to be too cautious??!

missEdith · 08/09/2008 21:12

iliketosleep but presumably not getting much of it now congrats

seshasapinkline - distractions apart from continually checking knickers and prodding boobs?
well I try to keep busy enrolled in a short OU course and try not to eat too much which I do when I am nervous but in this instance doesn't really help.
I also, quite by accident acquired 2 tops a couple of days ago and nearly had new shoes

wheelybug I am fairly certain we have never met, I am up by the big gardenalthough I do know a lot of local mums and dd has just started preschool down the road

hope everyone is ok
am too scared to add name to list

nauseous · 08/09/2008 21:29

cricri and Miss Edith thank you for your scanning suggestions. £100 is probably worth it to keep me from whingeing and whining. Good to have as an option if I can't get the doc to do it.

Good luck with your move ses - I definitely wouldnt be doing any moving heavy stuff if preggers, & being cautious makes you feel better, especially after a MC.

Sorry to those of you feeling rubbish. Thanks for the wristband suggestions, I'd try anything to avoid awful nausea again this time.

Can't believe its 9.30 and I'm already thinking of turning in.. definitely getting a bit tired. Night all..

iliketosleep · 08/09/2008 22:25

I've gone from a knicker checker to a knocker checker but its more along the lines of...

"shit they've leaked AGAIN!!"

LMAO at left one bigger, maybe it was feeling left out

I've just taken Brooke in the bath with me for the first time and she loved it! although I'm feeling a little sore in the belly after being kicked over and over for 15 minutes solid!!

Wheelybug · 08/09/2008 22:52

MissE - that is a bit too cryptic for me in my current state - the big garden ??? Hmmm... will go to bed thinking about that one. Are you in NM (don't worry if you'd rather not say).

ronshar · 08/09/2008 23:19

Sussex, just wanted to say how sorry I am. It is so shit to lose a baby. I hope you are being looked after. Come back to us soon.

Hi Wheely. Good to see you. I was pleased to see Gilly as well but didnt get a chance to say hello before lost the thread.

ILTS, Knocker checking. I bet you are just having a great time with Brooke. I you.

I have just noticed how close to the top of the list I am. Bugger me!!!! 28 days left. (hopefully)
