@Niftymum88 so pleased everything went well.

I’ve booked a reassurance scan for this evening to try and settle my anxiety. I’ve felt completely normal today and not even ready for my afternoon nap as usual.
I know from about 9-12 weeks the placenta takes over which is when symptoms can settle but I can’t help but worry. Especially when we lost at 10 weeks last time :(

sending lots of love your way.
we lost at 6 week and didn’t know till 9 weeks so that heartbeat was everything.
I’m sure scan will show a happy little bean x

Desperatelyseekingme · 12/05/2026 15:54

@Niftymum88 congratulations I am so glad all went well

@rach971 that is so disappointing, we build ourselves up so much for these things I can imagine how upset you felt

@Ncl31 good luck this evening, let us know how it goes

howluckyarewe · 12/05/2026 15:59

@rach971 how annoying that you rearranged your day for that!

@PhoenixSTL only 8+1 & I look undeniably pregnant already. 😅 3rd baby problems - I'm living in oversized shirts & jackets.

PhoenixSTL · 12/05/2026 17:03

@howluckyarewe this would be my second baby. I think i was expecting to start showing much earlier - my friend is pregnant with her second, and when I saw her at 13 weeks, she had a small bump. But i didn't properly show with my son until mid-to-late second trimester

Aprahel87 · 12/05/2026 17:05

I suddenly feel very grateful for my maternity services so far! Seeing promptly for booking appointment, all blood taken, scan booked for 12 weeks. It does seem to be luck of the draw!

@PhoenixSTL I did think the other day that my stomach felt firmer, but wasn’t sure if it was just all the carbs I have been eating 😅

in terms of of symptoms I never had much, and now they almost completely disappeared. I am trying not to worry too much - consider ongoing tingling in breast as positive sign at least. The scan can’t come soon enough though - time seems to crawl at the moment

howluckyarewe · 12/05/2026 17:13

Officially got my appointments today! Dating scan for June 9th when I'm on holidays, and booking appointment for June 12th when my childminder is on holidays. 🫠 Rearranging will mean everything is pushed back minimum of two weeks because our local maternity is so understaffed.

SunshineRose12 · 12/05/2026 17:48

I’ve had my booking appointment yesterday, but not got a scan date. Does someone get in touch with me or am I supposed to arrange this somehow? (I’m 8 weeks today!)

SunshineRose12 · 12/05/2026 17:50

Also agree with the previous posters about how nice it is this is a chatty thread. These last few weeks have been hard feeling so ill and not being able to tell anyone. I’m counting down to the end of the first trimester!

Ncl31 · 12/05/2026 19:22

All was well at my scan, phew! I can breathe a sigh of relief!

@SunshineRose12 are you on badger notes? Mines popped through later that afternoon for my booking appointment on there and then I got a physical appointment letter a few days later through the post.

rach971 · 12/05/2026 19:47

Does badger notes replace the yellow book? I was hoping they weren't using that here but when waiting for the midwife earlier, a lady who worked at the children's centre asked if I was on it yet, so they must be 🙈

Desperatelyseekingme · 12/05/2026 20:14

@Ncl31 I am delighted for you !! Hope it puts your mind at ease a while. Did you say your symptoms had reduced?

Niftymum88 · 12/05/2026 20:17

Just checked my notes from today. That midwife has really annoyed me 🙈
my weight was 70kg and she’s recorded it as 76.
which has put me just over the 30 bmi, which I’m not.
so she’s put I need extra folic acid now and blood thinners later on.
absolutely not. She’ll be changing that at the next appointment

hollyhocks2 · 12/05/2026 20:35

@rach971 this is so poor :( we cling to these dates, what an anticlimax.

@Ncl31 that is amazing! I am so so glad you booked that and got the reassurance you needed.

@Moominmamato3 thinking of you, do update us when you can?

NewAgeDawning · 12/05/2026 20:43

@Ncl31fantastic news ! Whens your 12 week dating scan? Do you have any others scheduled before then?
@Niftymum88thats just terrible. Hope this doesnt become a point youll have to fight over. Do you still have paper notes?

NewAgeDawning · 12/05/2026 20:43

@SunshineRose12your midwife should have ordered it for you x

SunshineRose12 · 12/05/2026 20:49

Thanks everyone!

@Ncl31 glad to hear your good news ❤️

Niftymum88 · 12/05/2026 20:58

@NewAgeDawning
no it’s on badger notes. I’m double checked my weight at home and it’s definitely 70kg 🤦🏼‍♀️
she prescribed me blood thinners and I just won’t take them.

rach971 · 12/05/2026 20:59

@hollyhocks2 I've felt rubbish all day since. Another week to wait and even then I'm sceptical that they'll turn up

Ncl31 · 12/05/2026 21:27

@Desperatelyseekingme yes my symptoms have very much reduced and almost disappeared today.

@NewAgeDawning inhave a scan on 21st at EPU (next week Thursday) and then my dating scan 27th.

I feel a lot more settled with them lined up like that. I think once I get to 12 weeks I’ll relax a little….

NewAgeDawning · 13/05/2026 03:33

@avocadotoast11generally you can choose the level of support you receive from a doula. I personally had someone with training in a lot of areas and used her to support me antenatally (did all courses with her including pediatric first aid, with my husband), for the birth and afterwards post natally including breastfeeding support. If you do go for a private midwife, choose one thats independent as they are more likely to respect your wishes. Also, always question what youre being told. You never know if the hcp is telling you or doing things for their convenience. Its not a nice way of thinking of it but you come first and your interests, always

33Carr · 13/05/2026 14:41

Those of you that have already had bloods done, have the results been uploaded onto your badger notes? Nothings been updated since my booking appointment so I’m wondering if there was an issue processing bloods/just hasn’t been updated or does it get processed with 12 weeks scan results? I’m in wales if that makes a difference.

PhoenixSTL · 13/05/2026 15:16

@33Carr it took about a week for my blood results to get uploaded to Badger notes.

I now don't have anything to obsessively check, and my dating scan is so far away 😅

SunshineRose12 · 13/05/2026 15:29

I was told 7-10 days for blood results and it would be uploaded onto ‘My Pregancy Notes’ which I think is the equivalent of Badger notes.

wonderlust07 · 13/05/2026 15:46

We still have paper notes so I am taking it as no news is good news re. the bloods! I think they put a copy in my notes either at the scan or 16 week appointment last time.

rach971 · 13/05/2026 17:05

Been for my scan and all was well! Caught up on my dates now too so I'm slightly further along (she did a couple of measurements and got 10+4 and 11 weeks). Very wiggly baby with long legs!
