What does it feel like to feel them? I’m 17w 1 day with a posterior placenta. Had a scan yesterday and they were moving lots, but I don’t think I’ve felt anything!

@bluepurplegreenat first it’s like a little hiccup or a bubble of wind. Or kinda like that tummy flip when you drive over a hill but not as extreme. People say flutters, so could be kind of like nervous butterflies. You aren’t sure that what you’re feeling is movement at first but then it gets more pronounced a week or two later in my experience. Now I can be sure at 18 weeks, second baby and posterior placenta. Hope you feel them clearly soon 🥰 by the end you see your whole belly rolling around! It’s crazy.

@bluepurplegreen the first few weeks feel like bubbles, or butterfly kisses to me!

@Niftymum88 can you even imagine a Christmas baby. 😅 Both of mine were late, though I probably won't decline induction this time!

@Alwaysgrowing does this pregnancy feel more like the one with your son or daughter so far?

My eldest, a daughter. I think this one's a girl but we'll find out when they are born

Anyone else’s symptoms come back? The past 3/4 evenings I’ve been feeling so nauseous again. It’s sort of like hunger but as soon as I eat anything I feel super full and as if I’m going to throw up. It had all settled for me by 15/16 weeks but seems to have come back again now. Also have a really warm/sort of burning type sensation in my mouth.

I was feeling so good last Sunday that we took our toddler out on his balance bike (pram in hand too) and went for a walk, being out over 6hrs, walked almost 8 miles so a slow stroll really. But I was excited to have that energy back and then the next day it’s just hit me again

Also, is anyone else rhesus negative? I am and toddler landed quite heavily on me last week so I went in for an anti d injection. They mentioned having a blood test to determine baby’s blood type to see if anti d would be needed again in future but I can’t remember when they said that test would be done. My midwife mentioned it at the 16w appointment but I’ve not had anything through. Wondering if anyone else has had the blood test, and when they had it?

I got a pregnancy belt from Amazon after my midwife recommended it as I feel like my abdomen muscles are weak in the middle and I'm concerned I have a slight umbilical hernia. Then I woke up with back pain two days in a row. So I ordered the 4 in 1 babygo. It arrived today and I got immediate relief of hip pain. It's got r settings and I'm 18 weeks, using the 12-20 weeks basic belt bump. I tried adding the back support, recommended for 20-30 weeks but it wasn't comfy.

Also I feel a bit sad I've stopped feeling movements. I'm not concerned as I remember this happening before in early weeks of movement. And I just have an intuition that everything is fine. I started feeling movements really early on this time, around 14 weeks, maybe once a week then every afternoon for a few days. The about a week ago I felt a first definite kick at night, then nothing. I hoped today I'd feel something as it was a training day, and with lots more sitting down than I'm used to... but nothing. I think I'll worry if I don't feel anything over the weekend...I have my 20 week scan next Friday...I do have an anterior placenta so maybe that's just grown in a way that cushions the movements now.

I’ve opted in for the blood test. Midwife said it will be done at the 16 (well mines 17) week appointment

I’m getting full quickly, I can’t eat much.
my energy is sky high in the morning and shattered by tea time.
today I spent 6 hours cleaning and then crashed and burned 🙈

ill obviously be happy no matter what as long as baby is healthy, this is our last definitely and I’m so praying its a boy after 5 girls.

i found out my twins are both girls so that’s 3 girls now. I think we’re done at 3 kids. Had a split second thought about how I’ll never have a boy but like you say, just so happy to be having babies. The girls will be lovely

@frolickinglamb we had the same moment of ‘oh we’ll never have a boy’ but the sisterhood will be cute.

6 girls! That is just amazing. So glad she’s doing well. My 20 week scan is next week. So that’s @frolickinglamb and @Niftymum88 and me having 4 girls between us, wonder about you others! Hi @hollyhocks2 I just had my 20 week scan this morning. Everything was normal, I was worrying yesterday that she could have an annomoly. I don't know it's a girl but I have a strong feeling it is. We're finding out at birth, but I didn't see a willy today. I do have the same issue with one of my uterine issues I had last time which meant we get recalled for growth scans. But it was fine last time. Only issue is we can be genetically smaller, so one consultant was pushing for an unnecessary induction from that combined with the reading on 20 weeks. Dispute him only being slightly smaller than average and growing every scan, dropped just one percentile line. But it's nice to see the baby more, we'll get more checks. And my husband is not going to be worried if they start on about growth restriction.

I'm so happy after the scan, she didn't get into a good position for the heart views for a while but the sonographer had time and she got there in the end. Moved about and wiggled her fingers for us.

Yay @Alwaysgrowing that’s great news. Wiggly fingers! So cute. Ah dear yes we had the worry about small size and early delivery first time round but all was fine in the end. Small but perfectly formed! And spontaneous labour. So I hope that happens for you too! Did you get induced early before?

I got induced with my 1st as my waters broke at 36 weeks but she was slightly big for gestation. My 2nd a consultant wanted to schedule me for an induction at 38/39 weeks, as a precaution because he was slightly small but I postponed it to 40/41 weeks and he was born spontaneously the day after his due date. I didn't like that consultant as she said 'why wouldn't you want to be induced the baby out, it's full term now, your placenta could be failing and baby not getting calories.' she had so little faith in female body. I felt it was safer to keep the baby in as my daughter in reception had a cough and RSV is a real risk so made the right choice. A different consultant I saw after her was happy everything was fine with me and I could wait for spontaneous labour.

Both my kids were born around 7 pounds so my theory is my uterus has a max size.

I’m doing ok thank you @hollyhocks2 how are you? Lovely that your scan is next week to see baby again! I’m the week after, towards the end of the week so another 2 weeks to wait.
Still not felt any movements yet but not expecting to until a fair few weeks yet, if my first was anything to go by.

I’m starting to think about the 20w scan a lot more tbh. I’ve had 2 “early” anomaly scans already which so far have looked ok but they’ve both been very zoned in on the spine and brain given our history of the last pregnancy. So whilst I was a relief to hear those look like they’re forming well so far, I’m also now very fearful of anything else that might not be developing well and things they wouldn’t be able to spot until then. Then I try to remember I’m very much pregnant right now so just try and enjoy it as I’ve said to my husband I don’t think I’d like to go through another pregnancy and would be very much happy and settled at 2. Although I’m one of 3 and he’s one of 4 so who knows haha!

Hows everyone coping in the heat?

I’m not too bad and enjoying the warmth but my issue is clothes! I feel like a huge whale, with nothing to wear and have anything that’s remotely flattering. Body confidence is pretty much 0 right now

I’m hibernating at home with the fan. Outside is awful, but working in my kitchen is worse.

I have these one size fits all big floaty dresses in wearing. I think from the market. Plus found a pair of size 18 shorts from a charity shops. Loose and cool with pockets. As I was getting them I said to my son I'll have to try them on because they might be too big, he said, very honestly 'you're big mummy'. I'm definitely into my maternity t shirts though as normal t-shirts just ride up and feel awful. I'm NHS, wear a tunic. It was on the big side before I was pregnant but today it's starting to feel snug on my bump. I asked about new uniform, but maybe I'll wear scrubs. I did last time but recently the management haven't been keen on scrub wearing. I've asked for bigger uniform but I won't badger now because scrubs are thinner and more comfortable.
